its a different style, i know the age old argument of coverdale v plant, but as far as ive seen Plant screeches all the time, Coverdale as range from extremely low to extremely high.
Interesting. Watching on my phone so I can't quite say for sure but that looks like Doug Aldrich. Bolin actually played this riff better than him. And by then he was a skeleton of the player he'd used to be (1975/76).
@HalalKafir I don't think Doug is the same kind of guitarist like Sykes. Sykes has excellent blues feeling and precision of playing notes, while I think Doug is rather heavy metal guitarist, fast but little messy. I do not judge Sykes as a mate or man but just a musician.
@MagChilderyk Sykes and Aldrich are very similar players, both heavily influenced by Gary Moore. Both can be metal and also bluesy. In fact, Doug is a better, more authentic blues player than Sykes - track down his first solo album, 'Highcentered', for proof or check out Doug's cover of Hendrix's 'If 6 Was 9' here on YouTube.
this is going to sound weird but is it just me or has davids voice got higher since hes been in whitesnake i mean if you compare him now to him in deep purple his voice was much deeper back then and more bluesy now its more like robert plants high screech thats not a bad thing though so basically hes a man of 2 voices cool
I think this is the best rhythm section that Whitesnake ever had. Drumming by Tommy Aldridge is definitely at the highest level, the same holds for bass (Marco Mendoza). I would just replace Reb by Sykes to get a dream team ;-)))
@MagChilderyk Why would you want Sykes in the band when you already have Doug Aldrich who is Sykes without the ego and coke problem and can nail any solo note-for-note? If you're gonna replace Reb it would be with someone with a style different from Aldrich/Sykes so you still have that contrast 2 guitar players should give you.
Dear friend, if you want to listen to this song again as well as an endless number of love songs I suggest you visit Radio MUSICA PARA MIMOS - look for the URL in Google (search Musica para Mimos). Greatest romantic hits of all times!!!
I can't believe whitesnake is this popular! I wasn't alive in the 80s :(. Funny thing is I found out my best friend's dad is band manager for White Snake (Michael McIntyre). I never knew lol. It's amazing.
deep purples live version is better, but this is good too, i guess i just really miss ritchie blackmore, glenn hughes, ian piece and john lord dough aldrich is really good tho!
@wertpollwert true though there aren't many these days, there are very few bands I would actually pay to see these days, I'd rather just listen to the album 90% of the time.
These boys are on fire live! I feel fortunate to have seen them in July and to hang out with most of them after the show. Played the same venue (different stage) my last all-female band did - how cool is that? The new album's awesome as well.. Still drooling over Doug, sigh Thanks for the post
