  • What about overseas calls ?

  • I've had one for almost 3 years, and I absolutely LOVE it. Works just fine. Plus, I love the fact that the voicemail also gets sent to my email. HIGHLY recomended.

  • My left ear is enjoying this.

  • is magic jack really only 20 a year or are their surcharges and other "extra" charges?

  • how's that now? i mean, how would i use just an outlet??

  • how's that now?

  • im in mexico and use the magicjack to call friends and family from the states. i think its baddd asssss cause its real cheap. my people know they can call me it also has voice mail i think its just real cool. its good for people who travel out of the country. just as long as you have internet where ever you are. even if you dont travel that much just buy it and keep it on the side for when you do travel.

  • Nice product. Just got it yesterday. The only downside I have is there are no prefixes available in my area. So if my neighbor were to call me, it would be considered long distance. If a local prefix does become available down the road, there is a 1 time $10 fee to change the phone number.

  • Hi, Can i make international calls with magic jack?

  • @brookstone5869 Yes. But there is a fee for that. On a high note, you can take it with you if you leave the country and call the US for free from any computer with broadband.

  • Once I get the magic jack could I then forward calls from the magic number to my cell phone?

  • Dude it's Obvious your with MJ!!But you keep saying free for 30 days" then" after that just 19.99 for the whole entire year wtf!!

  • lol, sorry, wrong universe

  • All cool but you have to remember to plug your phone into your laptop ALL the time and you have to have your laptop or computer running 27/7 if you want to get a call. Great rates but sounds like a pain.

  • @basilleonardo 27 hours a day! NO WAY!!!

  • Here's the problem I have with the Magicjack commercials. They show a 5 year old kid just plugging the Magicjack into a PC and it's ready to go. None of this setup is shown or even mentioned in the TVcommercial.

Not that this is complicated but, the commercial is misleading by making you think it's 100% plug & play. There's obviously a setup process a five year old would have problems with.

  • @pm0501 the thing is that is pretty much with anything you plug into your computer....it's just logical thinking

  • his phone is green too!

  • does my computer have to be on to recieve a call? does it have to be on to make a call?

  • @lorileeslove well duh haha

it uses your ip address to function and im pretty sure if there is no mediator via ur computer than the product wouldn't function

  • @kyle8275 excuse me, but there is another product out there (forgot the name) that hooks up like magic jack, but DOESN'T have to have the computer on to use... ppl at radio shack told me about it... but it's a monthly charge... btw and fyi: i know own a magic jack and it works great for us!

  • @lorileeslove the product you speak of is called vonage.

  • @lorileeslove thanks!

  • @lorileeslove you can plug magic jack into a outlet too

  • im using the SAME exact laptop he is using! dell inspiron 1545!

  • I would recommend having at least one corded phone for power outages and doing confidential stuff like banking, ordering stuff with credit card etc.... I have accidently heard call on my cordless just well being on the phone the modern ones are better but you can still in counter this problem.

  • fake and gay cut at 3:34-3:38 and look at his face

  • YES, it has voice mail, all you have to do is set it up. My flat rate land line in Caif. is $30 a MONTH with counting ANY phone calls...this unit is great, only $20 a year.

Cal and Voice quality is great. MY Cell phone and land line go DOWN more then this unit.

  • I have had one now for a YEAR and WE all LOVE it. MUCH better then a cell phone or landline. PERFECT! Great video here, thanks

  • Comment removed

  • Does this come with any kind of voicemail? Can I setup an answering machine with it?

  • Great video. However, please call this a setup guide. I would have expected some review of call/voice quality which was not mentioned.

  • magic jack is a ripp off and some one should kill the guy kids who invented this bullshit get a real fucking phone u broke muthafuckers

  • Why do they cut when he makes the return call to the MJ from his cellphone? Is the delay that long?

  • If one works for a firm called Star Reviews you would assume he could pronounce the word review, this guy talks like he has a mouth full of cotton and marbles.

  • @bisquick59 whoa relax guy, this is youtube.

  • nettalk is much better check it out nettalk dot com, you dont need to plug it in your computer.

  • Work for mac?

  • can u sue the same number u have or do u have to get a new number

  • @vicgarcia30 unfortunately they give you a new MagicJack number

  • I bought it about a week ago. Although it took 30 minutes on hold to get to technical support with setup problems, it works great now.

  • ok here is something I have dsl and we know dsl uses a phone line. if I cancel my bell phone how the fuck would dsl work? Beacause my dsl is connect to my phone wall jack.

  • @JediMichael2003 you can have DSL and no phone subscription

  • @smokum0 this was my concern. I have verizon dsl do i not need phone service to have get dsl?

  • @JediMichael2003, you can ask Bell if you can get a Dry Loop service. Dry Loop is a line only dedicated to DSL (no line dedicated to phone necessary). Dry Loop should cost you from $7-$10 (not including DSL). I don't do Dry Loop anymore, but I can assure you, it works fine. If you don't like what Bell offers, try Tek Savvy.

  • @JediMichael2003 You would only cancel your local and long distance service. The DSL service is separate.

  • Even if you don't have magicjack most people have cordless phones. if the power goes out your fucked anyways. Thats why you have a cell phone.

  • @JediMichael2003 I thought cordless phones have batteries?

    Hence the cordless.

  • @JediMichael2003 if the power goes out your land line still works !

  • @JediMichael2003 ur cell phone has no signal ur battery is dead or ur cell phone froze either way ur fucked both ways LOL!!!!!!

  • Majic Jack is a fraud. They advertise free calling and its NOT FREE. Read thier terms before you purchase this useless low quality device (SECTION 6 in their terms). My internet speed is 15 megabits/sec yet the voice keeps cutting. They have the WORST customer and techincal support. STAY AWAY! They suspended my account and its irreversible I lost $60 a week after I activated the device :reason: They calim that i made more then 20% calls than the average cutomer. Filing FTC and BBB today.

  • @ination I agree this is the worst product ever. I'm surprised the lawyers in the US haven't got a class action suite going against them yet. I have never had to deal with such frustrations in my life concerning a product. And I'm not alone, if you look online there is an unbelievable amount of complaints..pure crap.

  • I had vonage, magic jack and they are both CRAP. OOMA phone is the best VOIP phone out there. It cost alot more but it is just like a real LAN line.

  • OMG!!! This guy is freakin idiot!! He just make a quick call and that was his call. Again , this is another product that does NOT work for everyone depending on alot of things. I had this and talk for 30 min. and realized it was cutting and the voice was choppy. Go spend more and get the OOMA ...it is the best VOIP phone out there.

  • Great Review!

  • get skype and get laid

  • Jesus Christ, how can you employ somebody that can hardly even string a sentence together without mumbling to do a review? Farkin degenerate.

  • @surfersguy

Agreed- check out the review by infoNOTmercial. They seem more professional not to mention gave a much more detailed review. Good stuff...

  • but how do you call if your computers off?

  • long as you have high speed they work just fine!!!

  • dude ever heard of skype?

  • @TheShadealex Skype costs money for calls in and out to landlines. This is supposed to replace your landline. totally different.

  • they said they couldn't find any "INFO" on me WHEN i REGESTERED it lol finally i got pissed cause the guy was being a smart-but and told me to BUY a new one couldn't i afford one Funny guy and i told him where to go and The Friendly people at Magic Jack tried to send me all kinds of worms and virus's☣☣and my phone company and Mcafee caught them so even though MJ tried to Magic-Lee try and jack my PC up i still give them a ☣☣☣/5 the Ba$t#@d's Thank for posting StarReviews DotCom!

  • i have one to, and at first it was terrible, but when i found out you have to have the MJ on and that's all, you have to be at the desktop screen you cant be online doing any thing and most of the time it will work ok, but you will get a lot of echoing, and lag talk, where you say something and the other person will hear it a couple sec's later but all in all i would give it ☎☎☎/5 and when my free trial was up they wanted me to buy a NEW MAGIC JACK! thats what they told me

  • i would have really love to have heard this review but it was to mumbled i couldn't understand what you were saying

  • Magicjacks are shit!!!!

  • Free trial for 30 days...AS LONG AS YOU DON'T USE A DEBIT CARD TO ORDER.

If your computer crashes...YOU HAVE NO PHONE SERVICE.

completely computer dependent...DRIVERS MESS WITH OTHER SOFTWARE.

Get a 30 day free trial...TRY AND GET A REFUND..THEY'LL IGNORE THE HELL OUT OF YOU.

  • I've had one for couple months and it is great. I have used VOIP for years and always have a cell handy incase the power goes out. You dont have to leave it on all the time because if it is off it goes straight to voicemail and u just press "*" and the password is 1234 so u can check it from your cell. Also you can have the call forwarded to your cell. Quality has been great too. It paid for itself in 2 days

  • Do you think this guy can use a rotary phone?

  • i have a magic jack and i think it is worth it

  • net talk is better..... will work without a pc...just plug it in your modem or router and you can leave it on 24/7

  • its good for people like me who is cheap and already have a cell phone and lots of computer with most of them always on. this can actually save me $300 a year if im paying around $25 a month. No all I need is the product killa watt to check how much money it cost to leave me computer on the whole year lol

  • does this guy work for magic jack because i heard that it sucks... does it work with Windows 7

  • yes i have windows 7 it depends on the type of phone you buy i bought a v tech 5.8ghz and it works fine but other phones suck but this phone i have no problems and i have the lowest speed internet

  • hi can i use for international ,for example philippines????

  • Comment removed

  • few questions plz ???

1- so when exaclty am i going to connect the magicjack to my ROUTER ??

2- can i use cell phone instead of regular home phone ??

  • does your computer have to be on for this to work?

  • YES

  • does your computer have to be on for this to work??

  • YES

  • I can't get rid of the echo on the phone

  • it might be the type of phone u have that was the problem with me now its fixed

  • It uses the internet you can get phone service like it (vonage) and when the internet goes it the phone won't work.

  • LOL i dont need it my phone bill is 15 $ a year XD

  • i have this but one eavry idk 10 20 mins it beep the outher person so ya but for 20$ a year its a steel

  • works good except for the beeps the person will hear on the other end. Hope MJ can fix that soon.

  • 0.o I think i want it but i dont wanna plug that stuff on my laptop cuz i bring it everywhere

  • Yes but what happens if your internet goes out and you need to call 911?

  • i don't think magic jack uses the internet to work

  • it must, it's not plugged into the wall or anything, just the phone

  • Same thing that happens with every other digital phone service: if you don't have a cell phone or regular phone, you're boned.

  • @death8796 What happens if your phone goes out and you need to call 911...?

  • @death8796 Cell phone............ Ever heard of it?

  • @TheWhoDatWhoady

Ever heard of cell phone signal going with debri flying everywhere?

Ever head of losing your cellphone?

Ever heard of a dead cell phone?

Ever heard of left your cell phone?

    Ever heard of thinking?

  • @death8796 the same as if your phone goes down and you call 911

  • @nestorrfortuna I said internet, not power.

    There's a difference.

A landline will still work if your power goes out (unless you use vonage, which is essentially the same as magic jack)

  • @death8796 Actually most phones are now through modems. All cable companies offer it and most people use them to bundle. Either way land lines are just as usless as payphones these days. Who doesnt have a cell phone?

  • @atltallone907 This is basically the same thing, you're talking about companies like Vonage, and you're not very smart if you buy vonage. You could just use a magic jack, or possibly use Google voice. It's always good to have a secondary option.

  • @death8796 Make sure you have bear aspirin and that yell very loud for help.

  • @death8796 in Canada you can't call toll free numbers. Guess what, you can't even Call the Federal fucking Government on the Magic Jack. Don't fuck with this if you constantly got to call the government! On the plus side, if you are on house arrest Magic won't call the toll free number that the jail break box communicates with.

  • @death8796 use a cellphone

  • @lukasz20 Read down >.<

  • @death8796 better have a cell phone

  • @death8796 you can't even call with magic jack or any internet caling service

  • @death8796 what if you dont pay your phone bill? you know as well as me, the world runs on money; as far as I know: only a inactive cell phone will work for 911; [to hell with 911. get a shotgun!]

  • @death8796 cell phone
