  • George was California Carlson for Hopalong Cassidy

  • Mr. Drysdale in the early years

  • So... The McCoys were Rebels! Didn't know that...

  • @xbones101 That would be a surprise, given that West Virginia seceeded from Virginia to stay in the Union. Of course, i surely didn't know that in 1957, any more than Sputnik!

  • UNT DA MIKEL NO HOME! HE IN DA SHOWER!

  • Both the musket and the car are worth a fortune . The Musket was worth big money even back then. I remember my friends farther had a collection of maybe fifty and a whole slew of ancient weapons. When the farther died they had plenty of money and kept most of the collection. I think I'm gonna look up an old friend. Thank you for the memories

  • I know this show was before the Beverly Hill Billies .

  • What is the real name of the character called George? I know him from something else, a movie or another TV show, but I can't place him. Anyone know?

  • The name of the actor who played George is Andy Clyde. His credits are too numerous to list. Look him up on Internet Movie Data Base and you'll probably be able to figure out where you've seen him before.

  • @vidayverdad2 -- Thanks! It was Lassie I was thinking of, and I also remember him being on the Andy Griffith show. He was wonderful.

  • champagnevoluptuous you are correct! Grandpa is from Massachuetts, Luke is from Califorina, Kate is from Missouri, and Hassie is from New York.. They don't sound like rubes and don't show any inbred learning disabilities like real people from West Virginia.

  • A pre-toupeed Raymond Bailey (AKA Milburn Drysdale)!

  • Wow, they obviously haven't been to West Virginia! They don't sound like native hicks, they sound like New Yorkers with fake accents! I have relatives from WV and they are a thousand times more hick now than these people ever could have been back in the 50's!
