  • This very best and scary than original!

  • This track was a hidden track on the soundtrack. It was track zero, you had to rewind when starting track one. I also think this was only on the European version of the soundtrack, but I might be mistaken about that.

  • this song is kickass and adventureous

  • yes it's a Mike Oldfield version of x-files theme

  • Tubular = Tubleron

  • A great song from 'Songs in the Key of X' X-files the music.

  • Look it up on Wikipedia. This song is an extra added to the album's European release.

  • This is a rela Oldfield verion. he recorded it when he lived in Inbiza (Spain) in "Tubualar Bells 3 age". There are the same sounds and instruments. I Know it because i´ve got a Spanish magazine where he sais that.,...

  • @heystoopid74 Mah brains...!!!

  • man u cant relax this is too good for relax

  • Excelente música!!!

  • Is it just me or does this music(even though it's supposed to sound scary) sound very adventurous.

  • What's the chorus from? (Not the X-files, the other one... )

  • Got it now :D (It's Tubular bells for those who are wondering)

  • It's from The Exorcist performed by Mike Oldfield and is called Tubular Bells (the original version is over 25 minutes long) Oldfield did 3 mixes the last is over 75 minutes long!!!

    I absolutely love this mix!

  • the excorcist.

  • It sounds awesome!

But I don't get it, is this a remix of one of those many DJs, or is it a Mike Oldfield's version made by himself?

  • good question. I have found that "Notably "Tubular X" is part Snow's theme and part made up of a theme based upon Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells."

but i think its made by mark snow...

  • This version was done by Oldfield, not Snow.

  • @Soni77777 Here you have answer:"On the European release, an extra track appeared, "Tubular X" by Mike Oldfield. This is a rendition of Mark Snow's "The X-Files Theme", done in Oldfield's Tubular Bells style" So, it's done by Oldfield, i think.

  • @Soni77777 This is a track by Mike Oldfield. it's on the Album "The X-Files: Fight The Future - The Album [Soundtrack]" (ASIN: B000024B93)

  • @Soni77777 from wikipedia:

The maxi-CD includes four remixes of Mark Snow's theme to the television series, The X-Files. Notably "Tubular X" is part Snow's theme and part made up of a theme based upon Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells. Another track from Oldfield also appears, "The Source of Secrets", the opening piece from his Tubular Bells III album, which also based upon the same theme from the original Tubular Bells.

  • @Soni77777 It's the opening track of the soundtrack to the first X-Files movie. "Written by Mark Snow, produced & performed by Mike Oldfield"

  • @Niesrind I HAVE READ THAT THIS IS FROM A 4 TRACK EP ONLY RELEASED IN JAPAN.

    RESEARCH CONTINUES: HTEETH

  • @HTEETH1 It is on the official Soundtrack - but there are different editions where exactly this track is missing.

    Search amazon.com for B000006OAQ

    Search amazon.de for B000024B93

  • the song was made famous because Oldfeild performed every instrument.

this version of the remix was performed by Mark Snow in callaboration with Mike.

  • how can mark snow perform the music yet Oldfield perform every instrument?

  • Because Mark wrote the music and Oldfield performed it

  • ok but "performed" has a different meaning, also are you saying mark wrote all the other tunes in this remix as well? If you are saying that, how do you know that?

  • @felybj

    found on tubular.net:

Actually Mike didn't name the title. He made the tune and then he said in an interview that "..they called it Tubular X, or something."

So yeah, Mike did write the tune himself.

  • Well if you know tubular bells, this is Mike Oldfield. Since I can not find the original X-files theme on YouTube, this is as close as it gets... Since Mike Oldfield is an authority on this kind of music... And besides, it sounds, awesome

  • This is an excellent adaptation of both themes, but...

Say again, on which album can this be found? I have both official "Fight the Future" soundtracks and I'm sure this awesome version appears on neither. Any help?

  • hmm i have it from pack of 5 x files albums and this song was in The X Files Album : Fight the Future.. 100%... buy yea when i search this album on net it doesnt seems to include this song

  • Wow, an X-File in itself. Thank you for the info. I do have a copy of the song although it doesn't appear on either FTF soundtrack I have; one is the original motion picture score and the other contains songs by various artists.

Again, thanks for that info. I may have to search for this elusive 5-pack!

  • i found the pack, now it includes soundtrack from The X Files: I Want to Believe too. Its a torrent i can send you link if you want.. This song Tubular X is on that pack too

  • AFAIK it's on the UK edition of the X-FIles Album: FTF

  • Thanks for that info! I have the US release of FTF so now I'm off to find a copy of the CD with "Tubular X" for the collection.

  • this song makes me use my mind

  • nice just nice thank you

  • quite frankly this is amazing

  • if you listen well on the first minute it has some exorcist parts

  • Actually, the "exorcist" parts are taken from the intro of a song called "Tubular Bells". It was recorded by Oldfield in '73, and it's a 48-minute long song, and the intro is used in the exorcist. Great song/album if you ask me

  • This track and also the Tubular Bells III extract from the album, the Essential Mike Oldfield, are two of my favourite Mike tracks. I like him more when he lets his hair down a bit.

  • This is sweet! I made a ring tone out of it! The aliens are with me at all times.

  • A very underrated version.

  • This works very well. :)

  • As always outstanding

  • friggin kewl men!!! I've been listenint to it over and over again!

  • that song scares the livving hell outa me

  • spine tingly good!!!! 5 stars no less

  • Just plain Awsome-ness! Nothhing less.

  • wow. this is definitely 'the creepier the better'!

  • It has good elements in it, which I like more than other one :-)

  • This would be most preferable remix, in terms of chill out trance, but it sounds better than normal pace remix. Though, the second part isn't really necessary in both remixes. Second part gives you completely different tune (which is pretty good for original version, I think), but personally, I'd choose this one over regular.

  • Two of the most magical tunes fused together ... this is pure bliss!

  • I hear the exorcist theme in this X-Files theme!!!

  • I could never sleep to this music. It gives me chills day and night, not only for it's supernatural feeling, but for it's beauty.
