Towards the end in 82 there were writer changes & ABC got more "controlling" over the content... this did make a difference in the material & the general vibe on the set.Fridays had it's ups & downs, like SNL but it was far more consistently funny over all. Everyone has their own brand of comedy, just like music~ I prefer West Coast comedy because I was born with it! Before MTV blew up In '81, it was the best place to check out the hottest bands & John Moffitt's cinematography was outstanding!
@jessicafischerqueen to be fair, Larry David wasn't the only writer for Fridays - he had a lot of good skits and material on Fridays - not all superb but a lot was good, watch more clips on youtube of Fridays and see....
No, I'm from Chicagoland and I was 16 when this aired. Gawd, I think this show first came out in the late '70s, right? It was like a poor man's 'SNL...' Thanks for posting!

Fridays had superior sound, art direction & cinematography to SNL from the get go~ABC & Moffitt Lee Productions made sure of that!
