Japan should be stopped from whaling.
The reasons behind this are :
1) They take all and any species of whales
2) They lie to the world and say it is for research when it ends up on the plates of rich Japanese businessmen
3) Japan is not a traditional whaling nation.
4) The whale they deliver is weeks old and is not fresh.
That is why Japan should stop whaling.
As for me, I love to eat fresh whale. It's great. Just like tender beef. You can BBQ it, bake it.. Save the whale, for me....

There are not enough whales to support this "research" you what proof, how many times have you seen a whale in the wild versus how many times have you been at the sea shore?
Whale numbers are estimated to be approximately 1% of what there were 200 years ago, big animals reproduce slowly, so why are the Japanese so eager to resume whaling, especially when other nations might follow the bad example and this could force some species over the edge of extinction?

IWC is an organization that manages the whale as a resource.
Japan is researching by the permission of IWC in the Antarctic Ocean. The obstruction of GP is a lawless action.
If the whale fishing is completely prohibited, next might be the prohibition against fishing. The whale is in the top of the feeding chain.

Japan is not whaling with the permission of the IWC, they are attempting to use an exception in the treaty to continue whaling. Its quite a bit different.
No one has told Japan to go ahead with this harvest. In fact the harvest is specifically banned by the treaty that they (the japanese) signed. Merely calling it "research" is does not make it legal.
