I am an American, I love this country, and I support our geopolitical interests virtually everywhere on the earth. I am a proud supporter of Israel and really believe that we are a beacon of freedom in the world. But I merely ask the people of Iran to take a second look at us, because we do not manipulate countries for their resources the way we did in the 50s and 60s. I ask them to realize that it is now the Chinese who manipulate them, while America altruistically supports democracy.
Also I believe that America and the EU should be the only countries in the world with nuclear weapons and I would strongly support surgical strikes against Iran once they get too close to having nukes, since they have indicated that they would wipe Israel off the map. But we cannot turn this indigenous revolution into our regime change. Even secular Iranians hold deep suspicions of foreign powers and would unite against us if we tried to intervene. That is why I oppose getting involved.

The reason why these protests are isolated to Tehran is due to the cities reliance on foreign exports. The economic structure of the rest of the country is agricultural and they all love the current president.Where as the people in Tehran are subject to foreign relations such as sanctions; which in turn effects their jobs and their lively hood. It is a large proportion that is subject to the effects of sanctions but they are not the majority, like the west assumes.

My spouses family is in Iran so we hear the horrible stuff. Just yesterday we were informed our family phone line is taped..it's a scary situation..I'm thankful we live here...but I have a very hard time with all the conspiracy theories..

The same usernames posting protest video's today asking for Americas help were posting military clips yesterday telling Americans they'd destroy them if they threatened Iran.
Your country is being destroyed from the inside out and you're falling right into the trap. No real leader would tell his/or her followers to protest in there name, especially knowing the consequences as in this case.

In case you hadn't noticed, these people are fighting to be heard by their own government- a government who is beating defenseless women in the streets and expelling all foreign journalists or other possible independant witnesses. The United States stands by those fighting for freedom and democracy- as we did ourselves many years ago. The least we can do is support those who are willing to fight and die for democracy- whether it's in Iran or elsewhere. Support matters to those who fight.

The chance is probably extremely low for a nation's leader to be a moron or a fanatic. They may have their motives and calculation that you don't agree, but most of the time they all act rationally. I don't know. I was in High School in Texas in in 1979. I knew Iranians then, and liked them. All of the sudden they get rid of the Shah and bring in that guy from France. That Ruhollah Musavi Khomeini who put them back in the dark ages. So, what do they expect now? They, the people wanted that. I say keep it! Enjoy it.... I certainly didn't like my country being called the great satan, and seeing my countrymen held hostage. Enjoy your religion.

The reason why these protests are isolated to Tehran is due to the cities reliance on foreign exports. The economic structure of the rest of the country is agricultural and they all love the current president.Where as the people in Tehran are subject to foreign relations such as sanctions; which in turn effects their jobs and their lively hood. It is a large proportion that is subject to the effects of sanctions but they are not the majority, like the west assumes.
