The image compression is way too heavy for "my" liking.. i'd prefer the gallery to be slower than the compression to be the way it is

and i dont like my video's and pics mixed up. The gallery needs some options... compression, sorting etc..

I am sorry to all the droid lovers, but really, the nexus is a great improvment. Mainly on the hardware...the droid is all flimsy and plastic-y. And when testing browser speeds, the N1 is a LOT faster.

It's still not as good as the motorola droid.

The specs are hardly better, and it doesn't have a keyboard.

The only other features it has over it, are the 3D gallery (Which I'd probably find annoying), and live wallpapers.

And live wallpapers will come over, as soon as the update is released for the droid and other Android smartphones.

And all the same apps work.

actually the nexus one has a significantly stronger processor than all the other android phones available. i have a relative who works for google and he had several android phones for us to play with couple of weeks ago and although none are perfect, the nexus one was better overall and handily beat his wife's iphone 3g imo - especially in the web browsing department

@ShadowRockerMan Which means nothing. Nothing even uses the droids processor to capacity. Unless you're too stupid to close apps you aren't using, you don't need that much processing power to run android.

Virtual keyboards are shit. This isn't even a topic of discussion. Virtual keyboards don't compare to a physical keyboard at all. If you don't believe me, download and emulator on the droid and the nexus one, and see which is easier to play games on. It won't be the nexus one.

actually i compared lots of thing because my cousin has the droid, my brother has the behold 2 and i have the nexus one and the nexus bet both of them in ternet speed on 3g and wifi, also it was slithly faster than both phones when it came to opening apps and downloading loads of crap but thats really not much difference but as far as keyboard i really dont care i mean is just a keyboard in not gonna die over that little flaw its still over all is slithly better than the droid.

I have to say - I've owned a G1 and used a Droid off and on now own a Nexus One. Speed-wise, the Nexus one dominates them by far.

Second of all, the Android OS automatically keeps track of Apps and closes them to keep the phone running at a good speed. Closing Apps using File Manager type applications is purely a waste, as Android already does this for you. This wasn't quite true on earlier Android versions, as it wasn't as fine-tuned.

Also, virtual keyboards are not "shit". They may take some getting used to - which it did for me - but I can type just as fast and accurate as I did on my G1.

None-the-less, I will say I'd prefer a physical keyboard for games and for the real feel of it.

Fantastic. They are showing the world the Big Pink Blob issue of their flagship device for the world to see. Notice the pink hue in the center of the frame when they open the camera app. It's severe, the whole frame is pink and then it settles down and then they slyly (not) show you the wonderful MONO "Feature" which is the cure the support staff recommended to me. 500 bucks and they want me to take B&W photos to solve my problem. Brilliant. I'm a google fan but they are losing me quick.

I mainly want them to fix the problem on a phone I paid 500 bucks for and shipped with a major camera flaw. The cam was useless on my phone until just recently with update 1. I didn't completely resolve the issue but did make the camera and video cam useable at least.

No, it was/is a known and even admitted to issue. UPdate 1 helped. The pink hue is now more of a tannish color and isn't as severe. And appears to be a smaller blob. It's not something that is a problem with the autofocus or the initial app coming up, though that does appear to accentuate it more. I'm just amazed they actually showed the problem. And pretty obvious why they wanted you to take the picture in Mono as well. That or course eliminates the problem.

Anyway, hopefully your phone will already have update 1, or be one of the ones that doesn't have the issue. Because there are some, perhaps most. I don't know, it doesn't appear to be reported widely but google big pink blob Nexus. It's not unique or even rare either.

I don't think I that 3D tilting view of the pictures in the gallery. I like the way you scroll through pictures on the MyTouch. Simple and clean without a lot of unneeded "flash" just trying to make it look cool. Tilting the gallery actually makes it look tacky to me... although I'm sure some people will like it. We already know the phone is super cool as it is, I just don't like that.

Overall this phone has no mistakes and is absolutely beautifully smart, and and cut clean I would recommend this to anyone who wants the best smart phone not only the smartest, fastest, and brilliant but also not the most expensive the iphone was okay but if you compare the nexus one to an iphone you will notice far more customization, faster speed on the internet, and so much more its unbeliveable its amazing what technology is today nexusone, google, htc, =best phone ever congratulations.

You said there is no mistakes? I have one, one very obvious one. You can't store more than 190MB of apps, to any real user that would fill up rather fast. You cannot store apps on the SD card.

Among other features, the LED flash makes this an equal competitor to the iPhone. The lack of any light with the iPhone makes the camera relatively useless. Not to mention that the even taking pictures in a lit room still doesn't come out quite right.
