  • Selling out the American people obama worship all gods but there is only one real God and He is the God of Israel & the Jews. Please obama stop trying to impress we know you are definitely not Christian!!!! You will have no other gods !!!!

  • This is very thoughtful and I love all who put aside there own beliefs for others that's how we are suppose to be

  • that pretty cool...

  • amazing.. obama is a first of a kind.

  • Is O going to celebrate Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas? I will wait.

  • its gr8 to c interest of the leader in other religions, thats how the gr8 stands from the rest and the leader should always lead the way! i can really see only america's progress from here...;)

  • great person!

  • Amazing how much this guy knows.

Obama is quite the US president

  • welcome to the tribulation

  • it was a beautiful way to honor hinduism and embrace diversity. For those who don;t understand it, Obama said it so succinctly, "light over darkness" how much more can be said other than may this light reflect over all peoples of the world

  • i love obama

  • yay i lov obama! diwali!

  • A great leader. A wonderful symbolic gesture. Kind thanks

    DIVINE BE

  • Check your history when one country stays to focus on one thing. It gets corrupt and falls. You better be glad you have other cultures giving unique perspectives. Obama is great leader for stepping up and showing respect.

  • What are you talking about with all the negative comments. We are in America, a diverse culture. That's why we are the best country because we respect each others religion and culture. You gotta respect other peoples culture, I learn that in the cub scouts. If you don't take the best out of each culture and use it for good, your country will fall!

  • Thank you Obama! Loved it.

  • A great leader. Brave enough to make the changes in White House.

    Happy Diwali to everyone

  • From the looks of the comments on here, we really are toast.

  • A true sign of a great leader is the ability to see beyond superficial differences and uphold, communicate, and honor the underlying unity and truth of all perspectives and traditions...

This is clearly what is occurring here...

  • Which is to say Bush was honest, real, and sincere ! LOL We'll light a candle for you !

  • Is he going to kiss ass during everyone's holidays?

I know I'll be offended in December if he mentions Christmas.

Obama's a fake. He's got all his Obamabots fooled.

  • obama is awesom,. he respects every religion and culture, i love him

  • Oh yah. He respects every religion. Every one, except the one he CLAIMS is his own. He lights the "Whiten House Diya" (where the hell did that come from? I didn't know we had a White House Diya) but doesn't observe (or calibrate, if you will) the birth of Christ in his house.

I'm not against lighting a Diya, but to all the secular humanists who supported Obama, and claim to be offended if I wish them to be blessed by God, I have a question.

Where is your separation of Church and State now?

  • Um, last I checked, there was a White House Christmas tree.

    Every year.

  • I've known about the Christmas Tree for my entire 47 years of life. I didn't know about the Diya until AFTER Obama lit it. Again, where the hell did it suddenly come from?

  • Idiot, the deeya existed before Christmas trees. Obama can't be blamed because you're ignorant and refuse to be educated

  • Really? We had a White House "Deeya" long before the Christmas tree? Then, why did they keep it secret all these years?

I remember watching the televised lighting of the White House Christmas Tree all the way back to President Johnson, the earliest President I'm old enough to remember. But I don't remember them ever lighting the "deeya". Think the might have been embarrassed by it?

Whats the correct spelling of Deeya? I don't want anyone thinking I'm intentionally offensive.

  • He's giving a simple blessing, not forcing State Dept and White House employees to bible studies like Ashcroft and Bush or starting wars after talks with Jesus !

  • Really? Your saying Obama and his Biotch drove out to the local Wal-Mart, bought a Diya with the money he earned stapling posters to telephone poles in Detroit, brought it home and set it up by themselves?

  • He is open to all faiths with respect and blesssings,,,,,

  • Thanks Obama, you seem to be different, hope one day politicians all over the world will attain your grandeur.

  • I hope the worlds leaders far surpass your failed presidency, Obama. God help us all if they don't.

  • Finally a President who beholds diversity. My heart sings.

  • Yes, as long as your not American Obama will embrace you.

I understand he walks on water right after breakfast.

  • I believe we deserve better than the mediocre one-term president you all worship.

  • @Valles923 Oh you mean "Hail Christianity"!

  • RESPECT man much love to you and your family.

  • he shoulkd make diwali a national holiidayy....

  • with tears in my eyes I watched our President Obama wishing happy Divali to everyone - victory of Light over Darkness. We deserve a president who honors all faiths equally and encourages everyone to do the same. We are building the world which is violence free, crime free and stress free. Blessings to All.

  • This is exactly the kind of message the world needs to hear right now. Why can't we honor and celebrate all faiths and religions without judgment? I was raised Lutheran, and see that truth is one and the paths are many. The world would be a more peaceful place when we seek to understand and honor all traditions and this is what Obama convey with sincerity and sensitivity. He continues to amaze me in unexpected ways, building a one world family.

  • Respect

  • Hats off to the man !!

  • Obama is solomon of 21st century, may God bless first family and USA and world.

  • I am really impressed with president Obama's speech and celebrating Diwali. This definately defines him being a knowledgible politician.

HAPPY DIWALI & SAAL MUBARAK TO everyone from each religion. May peace reign to all countries and all religious people.

  • It's really nice to see our president acknowledge an important holiday for Hindus, I hope he continues to do this for other religions, too.

    Happy Diwali!

  • As a Christian I am happy to take the opportunity to join with my brothers and sisters from many faiths around the world to celebrate this great truth: "Light triumphs over darkness!" Peace to all! Love to all! Abundant blessings to all!

  • india and hindus love obama for this.

  • shut up. its not ok.

  • I bet the Jews said something close to this before Jesus came to town. Either way, you sound alot like those extremist muslim terrorist. Except they tend to say, "There is only one God, and that is Allah". I prefer being a Pastafarian though.

  • Wow, your comment is so reminiscent of religious fundamentalist terrorists all over the world.

  • go obama!!!!!!!!!

    Happy Diwali

  • It's a total political maneuver, but compared to that total dickhead before him, who wouldn't visit Gandhi's tomb, becase he got cremated and not buried, at least Obama knows how to be a politician.

  • This is great!

Never thought I would hear chants at the White House

  • This is great! never thought I would here chants at the whitehouse

  • What a top man....truely worthy of his status!

  • this guy is a real world leader... just compare him with bush (gosh--what a cat he was!)... real leader, or know how to behave like one.

  • Great !!!

  • Gotta love Obama :-)

  • :-)
