Trying to compare a Corvette with a Honda NSX, Nissan GTR, Mazda RX7. The Corvette is a powerful car with a very big engine, poor fuel efficiency. But the japanese cars are ENGINEERING, small but very powerfull engines (+100 Hp per liter, some without a turbo or supercharger), very affined suspensions systems, a lot of time inverted in development, the result, amazing cars, with an amazing handling and a great Power-Weight relation.

You are right. It´s is not a VR-4, because thats what the US 3000GT are called (TwinTurbo). It is a GTO MR. (if you know what that is?)
@cubanprid3 the GTO MR is the slightly slower version of the 3000gt but is more designed for the track. it is not an SL, it has Twin Turbos and Twin inter-coolers just like the fast model.

Superb grip of NSX-R, a true sports car that stick to ground. All other counterparts were losing grip in final lap. NSX leads all the way and has so much torque that left other cars behind. Superb V-tech. New NSX is on his way near 2012.
Are these other cars counterparts of the NSX-R? I don't think so, the Price of the NSX dwarfed that of the other cars here, the reason the NSX-R was such a sales failure was due to it's horrific price for a HONDA.
The Honda that belongs in this video is the Integra or EK9 type R, Not the NSX-R which cost more than both of those combined as well.

Price is the Main Thing when comparing any sports car, it's price that ultimately decides what group a sports car sits in and who it's rivals are.
Honda did not build the NSX-R to compete or steal sales from any of these cars, Honda was aiming far higher up the food-chain, much as Nissan with their GTR are doing today.
So going back to my first post, the NSX-R is not a Rival of any car in this race, The Integra however roughly in the Price range as Wrx/Evo.

Because the R32 & supra have their obvious disadvantage, weighing more than other JDMS. Beside the V-SpecII GTR is supposed to have good cornering with it's High Tech 4WD System.
Shouldn't the Z32 be here? It certainly is a competitor for these cars and fits in the "super sports car" category of 1989~mid 90's! I reckon the WRX and Evo shouldn't be here, they're not purpose built sports car, but rather souped up family sedans

Note that every car horsepower is stated 280 hp. It is gentlemen agreement for Japanese supercar not to exceed that number. But the actual hp could be bigger.
Supra & GT3000 must be 320 hp. NSX 290 hp. GTR 350, Evo made approx. 300.

NSX is a beautiful machine, but it really depends on the track and the drivers, I mean u take the NSX to the Nurburgring and race it against the R35, it will have no chance because of the straights and the uphills Nur has, but out of all these jap cars I wud take the supra ;), best engine and sound ever.. nothing takes it out from a roll and with minor upgrades it will be right at the top.

@cubanprid3 the GTO MR is the slightly slower version of the 3000gt but is more designed for the track. it is not an SL, it has Twin Turbos and Twin inter-coolers just like the fast model.

The Integra is closer to the price of the others than anything here is to the NSX-R.
As your clearly a Honda Fanboy enjoy the Victory, a $100k track car taking an Evo family saloon by 2 seconds after several laps, I having no loyalty to Car companies simply look at the video and think "Why is an NSX-R here? why not toss in a 355?"

Superb grip of NSX-R, a true sports car that stick to ground. All other counterparts were losing grip in final lap. NSX leads all the way and has so much torque that left other cars behind. Superb V-tech. New NSX is on his way near 2012.

Are these other cars counterparts of the NSX-R? I don't think so, the Price of the NSX dwarfed that of the other cars here, the reason the NSX-R was such a sales failure was due to it's horrific price for a HONDA.
The Honda that belongs in this video is the Integra or EK9 type R, Not the NSX-R which cost more than both of those combined as well.

Price is the Main Thing when comparing any sports car, it's price that ultimately decides what group a sports car sits in and who it's rivals are.
Honda did not build the NSX-R to compete or steal sales from any of these cars, Honda was aiming far higher up the food-chain, much as Nissan with their GTR are doing today.
So going back to my first post, the NSX-R is not a Rival of any car in this race, The Integra however roughly in the Price range as Wrx/Evo.

GTO was the only car that was fast with out scrutinizing the comfort. seems like the others couldn't pull that off and they sacrifice comfort for the speed or if they add the comfort they would end up slower. beside you don't need to strip the car to bone to get it lighter .it can easily get it to same weight as supra with still having every luxury item in the car.

@yagam1 well you are comparing striped car with race tuned suspension against a car that's is built to be comfortable and fast at the same time. in U.S magazine first gen vr4 out lapped the u.s nsx if you don't know it i can find it for you too if you don't believe it. don't look at the nsx-r here. u.s nsx is no where near that car. you don't know much about GTOs. just search for Puma GTO and see how it was out lapping all the GT-Rs in N1 racing.

Note that every car horsepower is stated 280 hp. It is gentlemen agreement for Japanese supercar not to exceed that number. But the actual hp could be bigger.
Supra & GT3000 must be 320 hp. NSX 290 hp. GTR 350, Evo made approx. 300.

NSX is a beautiful machine, but it really depends on the track and the drivers, I mean u take the NSX to the Nurburgring and race it against the R35, it will have no chance because of the straights and the uphills Nur has, but out of all these jap cars I wud take the supra ;), best engine and sound ever.. nothing takes it out from a roll and with minor upgrades it will be right at the top.
