  • very nice, im working on my own, i started yesterday and im doing

    30seconds,(5 sets) atleast twice a week until i get it down!

  • I so suck at this, I wish I knew what I was doing wrong, I just can't maintain any balance....I can't tell if I need more strength or is it just skill? sometimes I can do 10 seconds if i'm lucky with the balance but sooner or later I fall. I think I can do a minute leaning against the wall until the blood rushes to my head.

  • Very good progression, I find the lower back the hardest part of my body to align when doing anyhting above say 10 seconds, about 20 is my max, but only when starting at a wall :P

    I read that focussing on a point on the floor, forward of your hands is beneficial.

    As is controlled breathing obviously :)

  • dud to do better you need to train at a wall !!!when handstand do only foot fingertips stand on the wall !!! don`t know if helps but that is how I do it when I train!!! my record is 1 min 20 sec standing still !!! keep up the good work !!!

  • I've always wanted to learn handstand. I've been training seriously for it for a week know, and i can already stand still for 5-15 secs :D

    Keep up the good progress.

  • As for where to look, focus on a spot on the ground, like downwards. I think... can't really remember..

  • That is really something i've been trying to learn. Thx for advice, i will try that.

  • try to push off with both feet. this way you wil learn it faster. (becouse you have to bring them forwards doing that). if you can push off with both feet easily.. you can push off slower so you use your shoulders more instead of your legs. this will also strenghten the necessary muscles for the handstand press. and it wil make balancing way easyer. train hard;) and sorry for my crappy english

  • Hey man, your balance seemed pretty good to me, try and do some press ups and variatons . Apart from being lots of fun, it also helps you condition a bit ( Biceps and abs ) . Check out my handstand vid too, it's in my other account .

  • biceps is the last thing that evolve by presses. think of it, you use your biceps to curl your arm.

    Triceps is the word you're looking for.

    how do you progress i might try on some grass in the summer but apart from trial and error i dont really know how to practice them

  • Started to stand against a wall. You need to get used to the position first. If you feel yourself comfortable then try to push your legs off the wall and stand on your own.

    have you tried tuck planche to handstand yet?

    how long would you say a day/week you were doing them cause i was trying to get good handsatnds but i don't think i workl on them enough

  • Yes i've been trying to do tuck to handstands. I have enough power to do it but i can't keep my balance.

    My handstand training is really irregular. I just do it when it feels good. If it doesn't i don't train it :)

  • same with me and the tuck to handstand i just can't keep my balance
