Also keep in mind not to confuse the multiple beliefs of Islam. Most people seem to be under the misconception that Islam is one group, while in fact just like Christianity there are many, the two most well known being the Sunni and Shia. Shi'ites put a great amount of emphasis on the Mahdi.

It is biggest amongst Shiites and is supposed to be one who helps to spread the religion before the messiah comes back to. There are some major mistakes in this video. First off, Farrakhan's Nation of Islam does not represent mainstream Islam, in fact it is viewed as heresy, it has as little to do with Islam as Mormonism does with Christianity, if not less. Second, the MAHDI is not the same as the messiah, in fact the messiah is Jesus, who will aid the Mahdi in the end times.

This is two different persons, two different titles, prophet muhammad PBUM through the hadith has taught us that the messiah is prophet issa PBUH the son of mary PBUH, the daughter of amran PBUH. The true messiah issa PBUH the son of mary PBUH will not make claims, however the one that makes claims is the one to look out for. Mahdi's role is sort of smiliar to john the baptist that's all.
