@mistermister61 .Before Airbus was a company Boeing was pioneering the systems, procedures and technologies that allowed Airbus to build the A380. Boeing's experience in civil and military aviation is second to none. They've been in business for over 90 years so maybe when Airbus reaches that milestone your comment may carry some weight.
Boring, looks like a 747-400, nothing really new. I thought Boeing would had come with a revolutionary competitor for the A380. Airbus is developing a brand new A350 to compete with the 787...

@ cabrame: They don't need to create another huge airplane! They're just finishing the new 747. All airlines are buying the A380. If Boeing would build a 600-passenger-capacity aircraft nobody would buy it.
Many european airlines buy Airbus, most US buy Boeing. Cause of all the fusions there is no need for high-capacity!
The planned standard improvements look nice. However, Boeing should've designed the 747-800 to have winglets like it's predecessor. Furthermore, as nice as the improvements on this variant are...the A380 has it beat. Boeing would need to create an entirely larger and different plane to compete directly against the Airbus A380.
@phantomf41 Well the economy class will probably be like it usually is, except with somewhat more modern seats, LED lighting in the cabin, nicer heads etc. But the basic philosophy of economy class is to cram as many passengers in as you can and I doubt that will change.
@phantomf41 it will be that same. It always is. People go on the A380 expecting it to be new and exciting. They come off disappointed every time. An airlines goal is to pack as many people on the plane as possible. So interiors will almost always be more or less the same.

@dks11000 ? And what? Airbus doesnt have experience? Airbus was founded in 1970 and were co-developers of the mighty Concorde.
I'm not a fanboy but just saying. It counts for something and you then went criss cross with your own comparison, saying boeings are like mercedes and acura is Airbus?
airbus = european, mercedes = european
boeing = american, acura = basicly sporty nissans only sold in america
hmmmmm
And how dare you take Mercedes and saying it's something like anything AMERICAN ?
@aromchuen Sorry i posted that comment a month a ago ... now i like the A380... i flew it 2 weeks ago to Ireland... and it was awesome!!! : ) i am convince now that it the best plane in the AIR... the inside of the plane is like a 5 star Hotel man... LOL
Boo Boeing. They're such crybabies with the Airbus WTO case. Also the A380 is prettier, makes better crosswind and high turbulence landings and has full brake-to-vacate technology. Beat THAT, among many other things as well, of course.
@new123420 Boeing is going to make a shark too but beautiful its was MD-12 named as Boeing NLA Coming sooon!!! I just know that Boeing And McDonnelle Douglas is one ^_^
i suppose this is boeings last attempted with the 747 which is a shame because its glory days are over now however the 747 may be dead but all that means is the birth of the 787 and also i don't think airbus will have a chance the new a350 which they are planning to compete with the 787 will have no chance the 787 will rise to the sky long live the 787.
This aircraft is not going to match the humidity and cabin pressure levels of the 787 so what are they talking about when they say it's as modern as the 787.
@stupidn00bhax If you want one then ask you're family for one they will go to the Boeing office and 308.4 million dollars to buy one and then you have one for Christmas(But that's only if you're rich enough to afford one.).
this looks beautiful. everytime i walk into to 747-400, the plane smells like shit, the sits are small as hell so i can hardly move after a 15 hours ride, i can sometimes hardly see the tv, and the toilets are smell ass hell so i cant really stretch. its like a prison in the airplane
My airline has ordered the ugly a380, stump wiv wings, very disappointed, i'm a 747lad through and through, well done boeing in perfecting the -800, sorry we didn't buy it, but airlines now are all about packing em in, the glamour days have gone, thanks to cheap tkts
@hungryle Shut up. The A380 looks awful and is just made for airlines to pack even more people in. It didn't meet its promises abotu being "eco-friendly" as everyone expected.
The 747s look so graceful when they take off and the fact that they are basing it on a 40 year old design with new materials means that they have learnt from experience, which the A380 clearly does not have. Airbus just made the A380 to completely out-do Boeing in every way and so crappy airlines can pack more people in
Boeing 747@AirBus Revolutionizes Great Flights. I had travel up and down on sky around the world in last 10 years with Boeing@Airbus. Many Thanks to Pilots, Technicalities, Flight Attendants and other airplane travel services.. Hope for the best and be safe fly on the sky.
who cares about whether boeing copied this or airbus copied that or whatever. We all know that boeing and airbus are both really good whether one of them is better than the other or not. The Boeing 747-800 is a beautiful plane though.
The Boeing 777 is actually the most important airliner of modern times: Boeing knew that most routes don't support a 747, but airlines have to use them because they are the only aircraft with range to cover them. Hence, the 777, an efficient aircraft that appeared once the 747 outlined the markets.
What is this vehicle? An efficient A380 - It has the same range, and lots of "premium" ideas, but less seats. Economy class passengers are not worth much money, but business class certainly is.
wow ..as far as I can see the improvements are, overhead bins that are curved and a bit bigger, LED lighting and stairs that "invite " you upstiars..hey!! if you are in Economy that invitation will be short lived.. this is a cynical design exercise and unworhty of the design genius that created the 747 in the 1960s. Why would you buy the 747-8 with the choice of the 777, 787 or A380??
747-8 is a cheap and boring replacement of the for the classic 747-400 series in my mind's eye. Boeing did not want to invest in an all new 747 replacement as it was seen as too risky a buisness venture. I applaud Airbus once again for taking the risk and pushing the envelope in terms of innovation and design technologies. I think Airbus have pushed aviation 20 years into the future whereas Boeing is still tinkering with a 1960s 747 design.
Airbus just copies boeing. The a-350 is a copy of the 787. Also boeing thought of the full double decker design before airbus even existed, but pulled out of it because it's stupid. Boeing still has more sales.
First, the A330 is completely different from the 777. The A330 competes with the 767, not the 777. Only the A340-500/600 compete with the 777 and those were made AFTER the 777.
Not to put airbus down, they make great planes, but it could go bothways. The A380 was made 40 YEARS after the 747 and the A320 was made 20 years after the 737.
@NJRocks281 whats so stupid about full double decker design? more seats? less space at the gate? also airbus was the first company who brought fly by wire to civilian market, boeing was second. definitely they didnt copy that.
@fachy1981 why take the risk when the 747 is already a huge success, people dont want a new plane, they jsut want a more comfortable, efficient and quiet plane, so boeing did this, isntead of blowing their money into a new plane that might not even be successful
@fachy1981 Why would they go and develop a whole new aircraft that would need airports to reconfigure gate spaces (like they're doing for the A380 now).
They've put new engines on it, a 787 style interior and they fit into the existing gate spaces. I think they want to keep what they've already got going as the A380 is, well too big to be honest and looks as graceful as a whale trying to fly.
@fachy1981 there's a reason why they tinker with a "1960's" design. The plane has been flying for 50 years and is probably one of the safest jets out there. Most if not all 747 crashes were the cause of terrorist attacks or poor maintanance. Almost never by a design flaw. A380 however, has tons of flaws. Lots of tests have crashed and airbus has tried to fix up those flaws but now there just gonna give all of them crafts away. Bigger and newer is not always better.
@ronny4ever123 you're absolotly right with that! i know two 747 crashes that were either caused by terrorists or poor maintenaince. people need to just relize that 747's are gentle aircraft. they'll work just fine if you treat with its needs.
@fachy1981 They don't need to change, they got a perfect 747, it's not a need to build the biggest aircrafts, but its needed to think about comform and the 747-8 is a perfect design, I prefer the 747-8 up to Airbus A380.
@Airplanespot Singapore Airlines have already got rid of their 747, They are now flying the A380. Qantas will also do the samething. You can see the shift now from the airliners.
@fachy1981 easy way to say, but that were the 747-400's not the new 747-8, it's not a shift, Airbus try to get most people buy their airplanes, but boeing want quality
@Airplanespot defo true that, I'd say the a380 cos its new will have problems and I'm talking of catastrophic one's, Boeing have been going longer and so the 747 will remain queen of the skies even with the a380 out there, you'll feel cramped in a a380 i think with over 800 passengers on board, what do the 800 passengers do in a emergency on a a380? oh dear in a mess they all cant get out quick like in Boeing 747-8.
@guitarplayerforu The A320 is the first airliner to have a glass cockpit and fly by wire. The A330 is a long range A320. The A340 is the second longest range airliner behind the boeing 772ER (I give boeing props for that) and the A350 is a single decker A380.
@guitarplayerforu Learn to spell and some grammer you idiot. Anyway, Airbus has added tons of innovations to their aircraft. Second, the A380 has the best safety record of any jumbo. Third, the 787 is basically an A330 with different engines and a slightly different interior. I am not saying boeing products are shit, I am saying that Airbus is more innovative than boeing.
@JATO457 all planes are basically the same; a big metal tube with wings. the 787 has a lot in common with the a330 because what else would they do, make a giant paper airplane?
@TheAirvisionist The 787 is a response to the A330. Also, the 787 has a composite fuselage with wings, but I do agree, all planes are similar in that they all have wings and are tubes, but not all planes are made out of metal
@fachy1981 defo true that, I'd say the a380 cos its new will have problems and I'm talking of catastrophic one's, Boeing have been going longer and so the 747 will remain queen of the skies even with the a380 out there, you'll feel cramped in a a380 i think with over 800 passengers on board, what do the 800 passengers do in a emergency on a a380? oh dear in a mess they all cant get out quick like in Boeing 747-8.
@guitarplayerforu The A380 has a max of 800 pax. No airline is going to run it in an all economy layout. The 747-8 has a max of around 580, but about 2 thirds of the exits on an A380, so the A380 is actually SAFER than the 747-800. The 747-8 is basically a wind-up toy compared to the A380. And if you are going to aregue about any other boeing an airbus aircraft, the A300 was the first twin engine wide body jet.. The A300B was the first fully automatic landing plane.
Get real, the inside of a 747-800 will look just like any 747-400...and that's just how the airlines want it, after they're the ones who buy the planes, and modify them to their liking. Boeing can make these CG videos look as space-age and modern as they want to, the airlines have the final say, and they won't be doing any of these mods.
So your saying customer satisfaction doesnt matter to airlines, PR and customer satisfaction is everything to airlines, its what makes them money from return customers. They will probably try to make it cost effective for them but still appealing to customers.
I'm absolutely saying that....unless of course you're sitting in Business or First. The Coach cabin of airliners, and let's be honest, that's where 80%+ of the general public sit, looks no different on a 777-300 than it does on a MD-88 or A380 or CRJ. You get your standard 17-18" wide seat with 31-33 degrees of pitch.
Yeah, you have a valid point there. Coach is absoulutly horrible, especially on trans- atlantic flights. You feel like your walking off a greyhound bus when you finally get off that thing.
@quazimutato money we pay for flights buy new airplanes for airliners and us customers. here's what thomsonfly's 787 interior will be like, click the images to view. dreamliner.thomson.co.uk/image-library/?album=1&gallery=3
If this aircraft had a more extended upper deck I'm sure more airlines would buy it. Such a shame that probably only about 20 (all for Lufthansa) will ever be built
1. Most accidents by airbus were caused by HUMAN error
2. Most accidents by boeing were caused by MATERIAL FLAWS
If you don't believe me, feel free to check it up on the internet. Either way, it's foolish to conclude that airbus is less safe despite that the statistics about the CAUSE of the accidents indicate otherwise.
No A 380 had crashed so far. The 747, on the other hand, has a list that is as long as my arm. And let us not forget that a mayority of aviations are caused by human error.
@ananbaransy yeah i totally agree with you, the 747 will always be the safest aircraft in the skies and it already has been for 47 years, i don't think the A380 will last 47 years!

Comparing The Boeing 747 with A380 is like comparing mercedez benz and Acura
they are both great but 100 year of german engineer make the differnce... 47 years alone of experience for the B747...come on
dks11000 1 year ago
@dks11000 ?

Boo Boeing. They're such crybabies with the Airbus WTO case. Also the A380 is prettier, makes better crosswind and high turbulence landings and has full brake-to-vacate technology. Beat THAT, among many other things as well, of course.

i suppose this is boeings last attempted with the 747 which is a shame because its glory days are over now however the 747 may be dead but all that means is the birth of the 787 and also i don't think airbus will have a chance the new a350 which they are planning to compete with the 787 will have no chance the 787 will rise to the sky long live the 787.

Airbus just made the A380 to completely out-do Boeing in every way and so crappy airlines can pack more people in

funnydogger 1 year ago

I think Airbus have pushed aviation 20 years into the future whereas Boeing is still tinkering with a 1960s 747 design.
fachy1981 2 years ago
Airbus just copies boeing. The a-350 is a copy of the 787. Also boeing thought of the full double decker design before airbus even existed, but pulled out of it because it's stupid. Boeing still has more sales.
NJRocks281 2 years ago
hold on a second! the Americans are complaining about copying. They should check their own history of passenger plane first.
Fokker F. VII=1924 FORD TRIOTOR=1926
TRIDENT=1962, Copy by U,S. 727=1963
BAC111=1963, Copy by U,S. DC9=1965
A300=1972, copy by U.S 767=1982
A330=1992, copy by U,S 777,1994
from looking at this information up you can see what I mean!!!!!
fachy1981 2 years ago
where the hell did u get tis
dookiekong007 1 year ago
First, the A330 is completely different from the 777. The A330 competes with the 767, not the 777. Only the A340-500/600 compete with the 777 and those were made AFTER the 777.
Not to put airbus down, they make great planes, but it could go bothways. The A380 was made 40 YEARS after the 747 and the A320 was made 20 years after the 737.
kantk2008 1 year ago
@NJRocks281 whats so stupid about full double decker design? more seats? less space at the gate? also airbus was the first company who brought fly by wire to civilian market, boeing was second. definitely they didnt copy that.
commandro 1 year ago
@fachy1981 why should they. 747 is a proven concept
commandro 1 year ago
@fachy1981 why take the risk when the 747 is already a huge success, people dont want a new plane, they jsut want a more comfortable, efficient and quiet plane, so boeing did this, isntead of blowing their money into a new plane that might not even be successful
mikej5337 1 year ago
@fachy1981 Why would they go and develop a whole new aircraft that would need airports to reconfigure gate spaces (like they're doing for the A380 now).
They've put new engines on it, a 787 style interior and they fit into the existing gate spaces. I think they want to keep what they've already got going as the A380 is, well too big to be honest and looks as graceful as a whale trying to fly.
NotATotalIdiot 1 year ago
@NotATotalIdiot, the A380, if you look at it real good, actually looks a lot like the Airbus Beluga lmao
105Raptor 1 year ago
@105Raptor Yer, I noticed that. I always think these out-sized aircraft look a bit risky or unstable... with both Boeing and Airbus...
NotATotalIdiot 1 year ago
@fachy1981 there's a reason why they tinker with a "1960's" design. The plane has been flying for 50 years and is probably one of the safest jets out there. Most if not all 747 crashes were the cause of terrorist attacks or poor maintanance. Almost never by a design flaw. A380 however, has tons of flaws. Lots of tests have crashed and airbus has tried to fix up those flaws but now there just gonna give all of them crafts away. Bigger and newer is not always better.
ronny4ever123 1 year ago
@ronny4ever123 you're absolotly right with that! i know two 747 crashes that were either caused by terrorists or poor maintenaince. people need to just relize that 747's are gentle aircraft. they'll work just fine if you treat with its needs.
LemonHead45654 1 year ago
@fachy1981 They don't need to change, they got a perfect 747, it's not a need to build the biggest aircrafts, but its needed to think about comform and the 747-8 is a perfect design, I prefer the 747-8 up to Airbus A380.
Airplanespot 1 year ago
@Airplanespot Singapore Airlines have already got rid of their 747, They are now flying the A380. Qantas will also do the samething. You can see the shift now from the airliners.
fachy1981 1 year ago
@fachy1981 easy way to say, but that were the 747-400's not the new 747-8, it's not a shift, Airbus try to get most people buy their airplanes, but boeing want quality
Airplanespot 1 year ago
@Airplanespot defo true that, I'd say the a380 cos its new will have problems and I'm talking of catastrophic one's, Boeing have been going longer and so the 747 will remain queen of the skies even with the a380 out there, you'll feel cramped in a a380 i think with over 800 passengers on board, what do the 800 passengers do in a emergency on a a380? oh dear in a mess they all cant get out quick like in Boeing 747-8.
I don't think the a380 will live 47 years!
if it aint Boeing it aint going!
guitarplayerforu 1 year ago
@guitarplayerforu The A320 is the first airliner to have a glass cockpit and fly by wire. The A330 is a long range A320. The A340 is the second longest range airliner behind the boeing 772ER (I give boeing props for that) and the A350 is a single decker A380.
JATO457 1 year ago
@JATO457 do u think boeing are better than airbus? i do in my opinion? i think boeing make better quality products!
guitarplayerforu 1 year ago
@guitarplayerforu Learn to spell and some grammer you idiot. Anyway, Airbus has added tons of innovations to their aircraft. Second, the A380 has the best safety record of any jumbo. Third, the 787 is basically an A330 with different engines and a slightly different interior. I am not saying boeing products are shit, I am saying that Airbus is more innovative than boeing.
JATO457 1 year ago
@JATO457 all planes are basically the same; a big metal tube with wings. the 787 has a lot in common with the a330 because what else would they do, make a giant paper airplane?
TheAirvisionist 1 year ago
@TheAirvisionist The 787 is a response to the A330. Also, the 787 has a composite fuselage with wings, but I do agree, all planes are similar in that they all have wings and are tubes, but not all planes are made out of metal
JATO457 1 year ago
@JATO457 Of course not. But, yes, very true.

JATO457 1 year ago
@Airplanespot This world needs change and heres a small bit of it.
TheWarPlanet 1 year ago
Get real, the inside of a 747-800 will look just like any 747-400...and that's just how the airlines want it, after they're the ones who buy the planes, and modify them to their liking. Boeing can make these CG videos look as space-age and modern as they want to, the airlines have the final say, and they won't be doing any of these mods.
quazimutato 2 years ago
So your saying customer satisfaction doesnt matter to airlines, PR and customer satisfaction is everything to airlines, its what makes them money from return customers. They will probably try to make it cost effective for them but still appealing to customers.
umahuma4 2 years ago
I'm absolutely saying that....unless of course you're sitting in Business or First. The Coach cabin of airliners, and let's be honest, that's where 80%+ of the general public sit, looks no different on a 777-300 than it does on a MD-88 or A380 or CRJ. You get your standard 17-18" wide seat with 31-33 degrees of pitch.
quazimutato 2 years ago 2
Yeah, you have a valid point there. Coach is absoulutly horrible, especially on trans- atlantic flights. You feel like your walking off a greyhound bus when you finally get off that thing.

(1) what is the pleasant smell(s) that we sense when entering aeroplane cabin?
(2) How can we describe that pleasant smell in an aeroplane cabin? (eg. flowerly, ocean, wave, coffee, leather, carpetetc)
(3) What is the source of that smell?

The inevitable facts are:

2. Most accidents by boeing were caused by MATERIAL FLAWS
If you don't believe me, feel free to check it up on the internet. Either way, it's foolish to conclude that airbus is less safe despite that the statistics about the CAUSE of the accidents indicate otherwise.
