@smoochym The nanny state protects business, and not consumers. The economic system is rigged to protect monopolies and not free enterprise. The governments job is to protect its population ie employees and consumers against the worst abuses of capitalism. Capitalism in its unregulated form is not the kind of world you are used to seeing, but you are more likely wealthy so you would rather spit on the poor begging on the street than pay a nickle of taxes.

What's most remarkable is that people who aren't humanist and feel no empathy for those who may have troubles in life or may have been born in an inferior socioeconomic position, those who feel nothing usually consider themselves the most just and religious people in the world. Its implicit that you serve the capital. The dictatorship of money is not different from any other dictatorship. You either obey or you are out of society. Just because the dictator is not a person that doesn't mean that it ain't a dictatorship. Democracy excepts capitalism and vice versa. Thats why the USA is not a democracy, its a oligarchy like russia, congo or china.

Hm...sounds like she's linking slavery and capitalism but the economic system and the political system are two different things. You can have slavery in a capitalistic place just as any other. She makes some good points though.
