The original was for voice, and was composed before Brouwer was born. The title is "DRUME NEGRITA", by ELISEO GRENET, Cuban composer from the first half of the 20th Century. The song shows us a black, poor woman singing a lullaby to her baby daughter. Maybe Brouwer did arrange it for the guitar, but the original is by Eliseo Grenet.

The way it is played here is just fine - she keeps it smooth. Staying in position makes for a very difficult stretch, which can also break up the smoothness.

@MrNadeeo The reason for the position change is so that I can keep the melody smoother. I don't play it in the same position as it is marked in the score, because I have to stretch pretty far to get the note.
