  • Thanks for the comment, AndreR241. I am aware of the little white lie. These are intended as highly simplified guides for 13 to 15 year old learners of German as a second language. So I have taken a few shortcuts!

  • Yip, but still a good idea.

  • Small mistake: There is in fact a genitive form of the pronouns. But in your defense I have to say that it's not used very much.

    The table would be:

meinige, deinige, seinige, ihrige, seinige, unsrige, eurige, ihrige, ihrige

Example: This is the house of mine -- Das ist das meinige Haus.

  • @AndreR241

Well, genitive forms of pronouns do really exist. BUT they would be:

meiner (ich), deiner (du), seiner (er), ihrer (sie), dessen (es), unser (wir), eurer (ihr), ihrer (sie)

    Example:

"Sie mögen tot sein, aber wir werden ihrer immer gedenken." (Wessen gedenken wir?)

  • @portaecustos Thanks for your comment. As you will see from an earlier exchange, I do not deny taking deliberate shortcuts for the benefit of elementary learners!
