def alot of stuff they need to work out, but iv had it for a while and i think it shows promise of a nice, completely new operating system. Great vid by the way.
how long does it take to download the 64bit version without developer tools? right now it says more than 12 hours, and it been going for at least 30 minutes
from what im looking at i kinda like the idea of the Metro UI... For tablets and touch screens!. im not sure if they forgot about us desktop users. i like my start menu and would hate having to see the metro UI everytime i press start =[. i hope they have a ver of windows 8 designed for tablets and touch. and one designed for desktop pc.
also, i really dont know why everyone is having so many problems. i literally have not had one single issue. i ended up formatting my hard drive and making this my daily driver.
i honestly did not like this new metro ui and it was very confusing. but after spending some time with this new ui and getting use to it and learning how everything works, i really like it. im happy with the changes. i think most peoples problem is that they are too quick to judge. also like how when you hit windows key out of an app, the app is "suspended" still running but not using the processor at all.
to exit an app you press the "windows" key, it works like the home button. i actually found the metro ui quite easy to learn, i found about the windows key being like the home button because: it opens the start menu, and the start menu now brings you back to metro ui... so... :)
@GAMEmelt This is 100% unedited first time use. I have used pre-release leaks of every copy of Windows since 2000 :) I am not sold on the Metro UI... yet. Check out the forum thread for this article and you will find I pretty much laid out the same thought. I really hope they improve it as I have been looking forward to it for awhile. Thanks for your comment and all the best.

Thank you for giving us a raw preview of w8! Im not quite happy with metro style & I find the new start menu irrelevant for non-touch devices too.
