Well, it is really easy to die if you can't figure out what the red trail of your health bar is , if you switch to the other character while the red trail is still there, the character will recover the health acoording to how much red trail there is.

There are additional weapons for zero...

The bosses are fairly challanging...

and the stage design isn't that bad, so what if there are instant death traps, there are ways to avoid it.

I downloaded the game myself and I hated the stages you hated. I still liked the game and I do agree that Janne Da Arc's music in the intro is pretty damn good. I definitely could have been a whole lot better without the heavy cheapage.

He shows up because his consciousness is recorded somewhere... Cyber elf maybe? If you play through megaman X5 and X6, you'll see his conversations with Zero show thought. In MMX5, he's able to enhance Zero's abilities, stating that he couldn't *create* an armour for him to use. Also in MMX6, Zero asks him if he was the one who saved X at the end of X5, and Light doesn't reply. Then he asked if he knows who saved him, and light says he doesn't know; it was miraculous.

To be honest, I liked the MMX through 3 the best(in descending order 3,1, and 2), 4 and 5 not so much, but still liked them (5 more than 4), 6 I didn't finish and never actually got too interested in doing so, and 7 and 8 didn't get my attention at all, and I'm just watching the LP to see what I'm missing, and to be honest, I don't like the 3D perspective in Megaman, period; however, the vid is still nice, good work.

When you've learnt the game. Yes, it's easy. That's true of every game in the series and every video game ever made. I do not play them very often because I want them to remain a challenge.

I've played through this game just once before this playthrough.

Also - this game just isn't that good. That's also a pretty good reason for me not to play it very often.

Why do people play through games they dislike? I, personally, do it for comedy perposes. Secondly, people want me to play the majority of the Megaman series, which is exactly what i'm doing.

To be fair, the game isn't terrible. It isn't MMX6 or X7 bad.

Had the game had a better set of levels, (fewer instant death traps, blind jumps, removal of the bike stages..) it would've been a pretty good entry in the series. As it stands, it's merely average, and a frustrating one at that.

I didn`t do hard mode. seeing your Let`s Play saved me a lot of pain. the game is good in my opinion, but I see why you hate it. the way everyone else hates. the level design. my only complaint with this game. so many instant death traps and ride chaser stages from hell keeps it far from being my favorite. one of my favorites, but that may be because of the replay value and the after-game goodies. plus did you know that you can fight cut man in this game?

Oh god. Just going to this after having watched X4, X and X2 (in that order), I instantly remember why I hated X8. It's barely even the same game anymore... The walking speed, the shooting mechanics, and most importantly, the jumping, just looks so off. It reminds me more of a snappy beat-em-up than a platformer. But the levels are still trying to convince you it IS a platformer. Where did we go wrong, Capcom...?

At least I can watcht this now instead of trying to play it again, myself...
