  • Working in smoke without wearing a mask?? O.o In Germany we wear our SCBA´s and masks always if theres smoke.

  • I just dont get it you have the SCBA on your back ? why not put on your mask. Also why stand in front of the truck and why spend so much time with the hood get out the saw and just cut the hood open

  • If I dont want to wear that old air tank I aint gonna, you cant make me.....so there., Your not my boss so its none of your business wether I wear my gear or not,so bug out and mind your own business.

  • Let's get all our ppe on

  • Wow... Scab doesn't do any good when ya don't use it

  • what's up with those two idiots in blue station uniforms? got to rush up and micro manage? get bunker gear or go home. I sure would not want to get hurt for a 1987 s-10

  • @asbestosfiber ones the driver/ engineer, his job is to watch the pump

  • Time for that lady to go next door and pick out her new ride.

  • haha whats the point in the SCBA on the back if theyre not gonna use it

  • idiots ! no one of the fire men uses their respirators and the civillians and policemen don´t use any fire extinguishers !

  • did anyone else see the 2 cop cars go by at 1:11

  • Wonder what the F/F said when he walked over to the lady. Is this yours? She shakes her head, yes. Well lady, it's screwed up.

Those two guys without gear, should not have been so close, if they are like chiefs, is that a good safety demonstration??

  • why didn't they just open the door and pop the hood first? it might have still worked...would have helped if they had their airpacks on first too...also why does one firefighter have a pack and hood on without a mask?? packs don't do any good with no mask....

  • @therockstar17 I believe they did that(you can see one open the driver side at about 4:30), what you see is them trying to find that latch most hoods have to keep it from flying up in case the hood release is actuated while driving. As far as the SCBA... they are firefighters, they are too BA for masks ;) lol

  • hey at least there is a car dealership next door. they wont have to walk home after all. lol

  • HEY THTS MY CAR.

  • LOOOOOL

  • Wear that SCBA that is on your back!! Don't breathe that cancer!!!!

  • Good ole greasy Johnson McSilvers, so dirty.

  • how funny is a chevy truck burning next to a ford dealership

  • I love the way people go about their business like the lady waling in the door..

'm sure she just got off her cell phone and did not notice the fire

  • @AmerAlien I was standing off to the side of the exit door. No one should have been coming in that door to begin with. I didn't go outside because I did not wish to inhale the smoke, burning oils, or other fluids from the vehicle and I did not wish to distract the police or firefighters.

  • And not one person thought it would be a good idea to get a fire extinguisher from inside the restaurant and put the fire out? No... that would require common sence.. On another note.. the cops.. Why didn't get get a fire extinguisher? And what is the deal with the firefighters? I hope their cheif saw this crap display. All that time to put on PPE NONE actually went on air.. and the captain right up there in it, and the guy with the Halogen without even gloves, and the officers - no PPE

  • Anyone think to try before you pry? The hood release would still work.

As for everything else... I'm not even going to start.

  • @DTMRM8 - Um, the hood release cables are typically sheathed in plastic, whicl would melt, and run into the cable. No, it wouldn't work. Furthermore, the hood release itself uses springs, which would no longer be springy if they heated up to much. Look up "annealing." The heat would relax the springs. Anyway, the car is totaled, so what difference does it make?

Next time, engage your brain before you begin typing.

  • @melevy Um, I am a firefighter and have used the hood release on MOST car fires where only the engine compartment was involved.

Next time, be a firefighter before you begin to type.

  • @DTMRM8 - The fact remains - the car is totaled. What difference does it make if the hood gets a little bent? It's next stop is the crusher. And what if the release doesn't work? You've just wasted time.

And you're making ASSumptions as to MY background.

  • @melevy Firefighters work less, are less likely to get injured or burned, and it only wastes about 10 seconds if it does not work. It's not a big deal to me but try before you pry, one of the cardinal rules.

And you still have not said for sure if you are a firefighter or not. Are you?

  • what caused the fire i wonder?

  • yeah i know right. Lets throw BAs but the smoke/fumes dont look toxic today guys.... save the air

    lol

  • Lets all wear SCBA's for the heck of it... I guess they thought they'd look cooler with them on.........eye protection? Nah thats not cool...Bunker gear? Nah I'll wear it to EMS calls only....wow.....not tryin to hate, but dam c'mon guys get with it.......

  • Nevermind the no SCBAs. What about the idiots in the brush truck that park downwind then walk around without turn out gear at all. And how many people are looking up clos efor the hood release of the still burning vehicle WITH OUT eye or face protection????

  • haha right beside a ford dealer, i think the car told the owner it no longer wants to be in use.

  • it baffles me to see idiots put on their SCBA and not go on air standing in a cloud full of fumes, or for them i should just call it a 40 pound backpack with no purpose

  • cool you got to get it all on video to

  • In Hampshire County.WV every truck a company has can fight each different fire cause of a variety of fires we get so yeah in Monongalia County they would probably have the same situation.Thats why there is a brush truck there

  • wow no propper PPE was worn they have no idea what they were and it looks like there second due truck is a brush truck? why would you bring a brush truck to a car fire? and even if no ones hurt wheres the EMS? this town needs to get there protective services straightened out..

  • Their training officer seriously needs to reconsider his methods. Hopefully they have this footage. Nothing better than watching the game film!!

  • wearing the scba, but not using it. whats the point there.

  • Ah who needs lungs anyway!!!

  • even the captain gets right up in the smoke. NICE!! thats why departments issue SCBA's. smoke of any kind causes cancers. use them people

  • i see ALOT of firefighters not wearing their PPE on american news channels....right in the fire and not even having a SCBA on, you can prevent cancer by using them.

  • Uh, I think you need a new thermostat.

  • Yeah that's always good for business; to have something to watch while your customers are going through the drive thru. Also if you the Officer of the fire company running this call. Then you can go back and ask your firefighters why they were not wearing their SCBA while attacking the blaze. Now theres food for thought.

  • great video. Thanks so much for not adding a rackus soudtrack by some "has been" rock artist. The video shows exactly the sights and sounds of the event. Too many times we see a god video, only ruined by a dumb soundtrack.

    Take care.
