whats the reason for releasing carp theres tons of them in the rivers lakes etc, this pissses me off when the , so call do gooders, want to trelease , trash fish, take that bitch and smoke it
carp are a huge sport fish now a days, there tournaments are getting to be bigger then bass tournaments. and the pay outs are huge. i make alot of money tournament fishing for carp. they put up a great fight no matter what size. i love carp fishing, but dont get me wrong im a cat guy to but carp is alot funner and takes alot more technique then cat fishing.
wtf yal fishing for carp for? i do almost never and if i am its bc i like using huge hunks of they're meat for latenight flathead bait. carp meat and scaled live bluegills seem to work best in ohio.
For bigger carp you can fish 1 rod away from the baited area - more quite en more likely to atract the bigger fish. you can also try real big baits like 50 mm boilies on a long hair (min also 50 mm), although this is no garantee to hook just big fish.
Try bait up with loads of spod mix (hemp, mixed granes, peas, beans). When fish crush this, the sound can be heard al long way, atracting big fish as well. This effect is much less with just boilies.
Great catches i fish on the hudson river in new york and the biggest one i cought was 23 lb you look like you got some really huge ones there whats the biggest one?
Great catches i fish on the hudson river in new york and the biggest one i cought was 23 lb you look like you got some really huge ones there whats the biggest one?
I think you should try fishing at night - usually then it is quietly. Big carps are very careful.
Catching so much small carps you don't gave a chance biger ones even to try your boilles. From my experience THE BIG ONES seeks foods on they own - so you should try maybe biger boiles or change the bait for more natural flavour like "fish", "squid" etc.
@carpangler89 I use corn alot and hook them on those 1/4 plastic worm hooks. Yes, they bite those too. Anyways, I usually caught the ones like yours in the vid but I need to know what line test you used because I used a 12lb and Im never comfortable with that. so my other question is, will they bite on heavy and braided lines?
@dookiekong007 I use 10lb, 12lb. I did use braid before and I have cought fish on it so they will bite but a havier line is not needed in my opinion. 12lb or 15lb tops is going to be just fine.
@riverpeya i dont know where you are from but i know that maggots seem to be a very good bait for eny fish and maby sweetcorn also spam but you can buy bait that is basically made for carp hope this was helpfull
What are you doing? Whay are you not taking home that damn fish and turn them into fish gulash? Is it legal to eat carp in US? Americans say it tastes like .... but they just dont know how to do it...
You got some really nice wild carp there, in America! If you want bigger fish, try bigger baits. Even PING-PONG BALL SIZE! Maybe it's the approach that don't get you big ones. What do you put in your boilies? How much do you feed them?
I use 18mm vanilla and scopex boilies purchased from Europe, and I feed them with vanilla mix with crushed up boilies. If I get a chance I prebait with that mix, and I put in about 2 pounds per rod sometimes more. I also put in a great amount in the morning ,and I constantly cast some bait out after I catch a fish. Yea I have tried 2 18mm boilies (bigger bait) on a hair but no luck yet. I also bought some 20mm tutti frutti boilies but I havent had the chance to try them out yet.
Try making your own boilies. You don't need anything fancy. If I catch a lot on cheap homemades on commercial lakes, you'll be destroying them on unfished waters like this. The point is to pre-bait a lot for a few days in order to make larger specimens stay at your spot. Once they're there, you'll catch them even on small baits! If you can't find any cheap recipes on the net, contact me, I'll help. P.S. Where are you from, you're not from the States? You speak familiar language to mine...
Yea I know that I need to prebait more but that swim is like 3 hours from where i live and work gets in the way so I dont have that much time to prebait. Yea about the boilies if you dont mind sharing one of your recipes, that would be good, thanks in advance. Oh and I am originaly from Bulgaria, so the language is Bulgarian
You seem to be doing fine mate, like your man say's,for the bigger fish come off the baited patch a bit but try a bigger bait, maybe 2 18mm baits or even bigger..!!
As far as how to get the big ones..chances are they are there, watching and cruising outside of the area where the main action is taking place. You could always try setting a single rod up, cast away from the rest with a different bait and see if any of the loner fish will seek it out, feeling it is safe.
For instance, if your using all boilies, try one rod with garbonzo beans off to the side where no other rods are and see what happens.
