@COBRA2K12 i have seen pythons mainly retics and burmese be as mean as an anaconda and the red tail/constrictor morphs along with sand boa morphs have been sky rocketing
I wanna say python as I have a ball python and she is just amazing with her personality and calmness but just today i got a 7foot 40pound female red tail boa.. so my answer may end up changing soon enough !! any tips for a new boa owner ??
I wanna say python as I have a ball python and she is just amazing with her personality and calmness but just today i got a 7foot 40pound female red tail boa.. so my answer may end up changing soon enough !! any tips for a new boa owner ??
i think both are beauty animals.... and are bads pets ehhhh!!!! (as the fishes loool)
if you wanna a pet, try a hamster or some animal that dont have to pass ilegaly and dont destroy they habitat, dont you have a wild animales as pet!!!!!!!
I have had both boas and pythons and i would have to say boas are my prefered choice due to the fact that they not mean natured. Also i like it that boas dont tend to grow as fast.
I have had a python before, and right now at the moment I have a boa. my boa is a far more agressive eater than any other snake I have ever seen, and its one of the coolest snakes I have ever seen ( its a brazillian rainbow boa0
I have one of each. I've got a ball pythons and red tail boa. I love em both really. My python is a lot more friendly and active though. None the less, I still love my little guys!
i got one they are great i also have 2 ball pythons but i do favor my red tail he is one of my youngest but biggest already 4 feet long only like 1 year and a 1/5 and i am not power feeding
That's a reaaaallly tough choice. I own a few of both. In my experience, pythons (that are pets) are calmer and a little slower overall than boas. And boas tend to be very active and curious. Although I have a female bp who acts more like a boa. Lol.
I'm going with boas on this one because it's awesome that they give live birth :)
i have a boa female, i don't know much of the facts but boa look nice, i like there skinny body and big head. what is more likely to bite you would you say? i had my boa and she bit me but it was my fault cause i put dead mouse in and she went for me, my boas 12 months.
Ummm... it really just depends on the individual snake. I don't think that on type of snake is more likely to bite you that another. It depends on how much they are used to your presence and being handled by you.
And I've almost been tagged by one of my boas the same way... they have reeeaally strong feeding responses!! lol
hey hey, just to update, since my last comment i've acquired 2 more snakes, a male Wamena Greentree python, and also a female Lavender Albino Reticulated python. this brings the total to 6 pythons and 1 boa.
That depends on if you are talking about an Anaconda or a Sand Boa, or if you are talking about a Reticulated Python or a Ball Python. Both Boa's and Python have small and large.
It depends on the species. Out of the three largest snake species, two are pythons (Burmese and reticulated pythons) and one is a boa (green Anaconda). But they also have very small varieties like sand boas and ball pythons. Either way, they are overall very strong constrictors.
I'd go with pythons too. I have both a python and a boa (ball python, dumeril's boa). I love my ball python, but my boa isn't that nice. She'll let me hold her, but she get aggrivated sometimes.
i defenatly wold have to go with pythons to, there are alot of cool species of pyhton, but then again boas are very cool to. expesually the sand boa. but i think pythons have alot more cool looking spieces such as any kind of tree python, defenatly the woma. and there are alot more that i like, one kind of snake that i htink is boring as hell is the ball python though. i use to love them but now i htink they are so boring. i think they would be better if there were more colors to em :)
Well there are many morphs of the ball python, not just the regular colors. I found 2 vids on youtube that show pictures of most of the ball python morphs. Just look up "Ball Python Morphs" and you'll find it.
I just got a baby ball python. What should I feed her that it's not live? Can I chop pieces of chicken and feed her or do they need to be mice and rats ?
i prefer boas since ive never had a python, but i will probably get myself a python in the future =D Farteraway420, youve seen my snake, what do you think about getting a python as well?
both can get pretty mean boas are nice to look at pythons are just python if it was up to me I'll pick pythons thought i always been a python guy plus pythons are bigger
pythons easy... look up the emerald python. if u still say boa's you cannot be swayed from the dark side ;) that said im not against boas as i love snakes full stop but i think pythons are my weapon of choice in this debate...
eew! thats a hard one they both have there advantages i mean sunglow and sand boas are cool and pythons are cool like bumrs retics and trees ok i have made my decision its boa
awesome video thanks i love sand boas but want thats awesome head of a ball python but not the size whats a good breed for pythons i like the red tail and ball so far uits really all i have seen in person...
i am going to have to agree with AmericanIron08, every snake i have been bitten by has been pythons, i still love them but my boa hasnt show any signs of biting or even wanting to bite me.i am siding with the boas.
In my experience, I've never been bitten by a boa. All the times I've been bitten were by Pythons, Carpets, Bloods, Trees. It just seems that Pythons have a tendency to be very moody. The Coumbian Red Tail is the coolest tempered snake I've ever handled. I work at an exotic pet store, I handle different snakes everyday. The Blood Pythons are all around mean snakes, never have I come across one that hasn't bitten me. Either way, good choices.
i would have to say i'm more for pythons. as of right now, i have 2 ball pythons(Hope & Mizzfortune), 2 burmese pythons(Malice & Envy), and 1 red tail columbian boa(Rage). i love all five of them equally, but i will say my pythons show more personality than my boa. as far as length/size of the snakes, my burms will definately become a bit more to handle than my boa, and in a shorter amount of time(roughly within the next 15 months).
At four years, certainly. I would just recommend first that you weigh him making sure he weighs over 1000 grams. But at 4 years that should be a piece of cake.
I would have to say Ball Pythons!! Because I personally believe they have more morphs than Boa Constrictors. Pythons are way easier to handle when they get big, in the other hand boas grow up to 7-12 feet. But to me both are sorta equal...right now I have 4 pythons and 4 boa constrictors, all different morphs. As long as you know what you are doing it really dont matter what snake you have! Everything is almost the same just a lil differences...
i agree i love my ball python and i just got a boa and it has brought nothing but trouble so far mites, mold, u name it. but the python i have had for about a year and i have had no problems hes great!
I've got a Ball Python and a Burmese python and they are great pets. I handle both of them constantly. I love how big the heads get on the Boas though and their girth. Obviously I am partial to the Pythons. Great question and thanks for the facts FartherAway420!!!

I order my snakes online. As far as in the wild goes, the ones I just named are from Africa and Asia.
