We found a baby about this size, rubbed a banana all over an M-80, lit it and gave it to the baby. It tried to bite it, put it in it's mouth, and ran to clamp on mama. Mama smelled the fuse, and ran up a tree. When it went off we had rhesus pieces all over the place.
New record. I found 28 last week. I managed to save one 2 day old macaque. He lost 1 arm and 1 eye, but he is going to make it. I have a little macaque that is recovering from breaking her back, she is showing some interest in him. Maybe he will have a mom after all.
I have about 800 monkeys. I find up to 22 all chewed up every week, mostly this size here. If these other baby / juveniles were serious they'd kill the baby real quick.
I took a newborn, (pulled it out of mother as it was born) and locked it in a steel box. I feed it and water it completely in the dark. It has had nothing touch it, heard no sound, and seen no light since it was born a year ago.
Next week I'll take it out once, burn one hand, the week after, I'll smash it's foot with a hammer. Then after I hang it over the troop I keep in a cage, in a spinning sack, I'll put it in.
