  • Thanks India for youre gift to the music World

  • Indian Music is the best. so powerful, so intense. so relaxing.

may this tradition live on till the end of time, feeding us with musical spirituality.

    Thanks for sharing

  • I love Shujaatbhai's renditions. He is a great musician and a also a superb human being. I had the privilege of presenting him through our organisation twice in Wolverhampton: in 1985 & in 1999.

  • SO.........BEAUTIFUL!!!

  • simple man simple music

  • This is truly beautiful stuff. I'm officially a fan! :)

  • It pleased me immensely to see Ustadji reduced by at least 20 kg since 2008.

  • Please, post here all the verses of Amir Khusrau sung by Ustad Shujaat Khan. Really beautifull verses. I just found one of them on google: khusrau daria prem....

  • I like to hear the harp at night with legend voice... :)

  • he is much much better then ravi shankar

  • @hereamardeep

Do you have any doubt? He like his late father ustad Vilayatkhansaheb is easily the best sitarists from Indian subcotinent.

Ravishankar has no class. he can only please westerners.

  • A great musician and human being.

  • what garbage....he should stick to what he does best...

  • wah ustad!!!!!!

  • Wah wah ... divine

  • heart opener !! may the whole world sound like your music......

  • This is my 'father India'.

  • he doesnt sing; he mumbles!!

  • @daskaustubh he's nt a singer u fool!!!!

  • Beautiful!!!!

    hermosa cancion!!!!

  • lovely singing and playing. very organic and instant. I love the tabla accompaniment. Parthasarathy is demonstrating so much discipline. He supported the main artiste with understanding. without taking the lead. this type of accompaniment is rare these days. A good music creation. both compliment each other. Of course Imarat ji is a maestro. Still his passion is like a young child. thank you for posting.

  • Mashallah! beautifully played sitaar.

  • This maestro's act is par excellence...................Pure ecstasy puts you in a trance.

    God Bless!

    Naren Japan

  • This is one of my favourites of Shujaatbhai. I love the tabla accompaniment by Partha Sarathy Mukherjee. I could listen to it again and again and wouldn't get bored.

Many thanks for sharing this with the connoisseurs of ICM.

  • Wah Wah, this reminds me Ustad Rais Khan

  • So beautiful, and so tender - his very special gift to this music. Thanks to all concerned.

  • Magnifique ! Shujaat est un immense artiste ! Non seulement il est un grand maitre du sitar, mais la façon dont il chante est émouvante !

  • reallyyyyyyyy suparbbbbbbbbb,,,,,,,,,

  • wonderful piece! ''khusrau daria prem ka ulti va ki dhar,jo utra so dhoob gya...jo dooba so paar''

  • bohot aala subhanAllah

  • @abiehakhawaja thanks for sharing

  • sujat khan sahab is really great...so sweetly he sung it and his setar is simply amazing.....

  • His singing shud not be compared to the masters..but his sitar certainly is a class of his guru..Vilayet Khan....the beauty of the singing is that it makes a layman like me relate the sitar to the human voice.....A UNIQUE PRESENTATION

  • Wow.....speechless !!!!!!!!! veryyyyyy brilliant........♥

    Thanks 4 posting !

  • shujat bhai briliant musician, but you have to watch your weight bro..i would love to for you to provide us with nice music for long time..

  • Brilliant , world class and genius.

  • Thank you for uploading this wonderful piece. Definitely Khansahib sings better than his legendary Guru. But I am not qualified enough to tell if he plays the sitar better than his Guru. Perhaps no one can. I pray to the Divine Heart he will equal his Guru when he gets to the top of the mountain of Saadhna.

    Bhavaani Daas

  • I love that he then goes into Chhap Tilak halfway through this video...one of my all time favorite songs! Thank you for posting!

  • I loved the fabulous rendition of Shujaatbhai singing a poem of Amir Khusrau in sitar and accompanied on tabla by Parthasarathy Mukherjee on 22nd Nvember 2008 in Budapest.

I just loved the poetry, his singing and and his sitar. It was very soothing and unique. I love his music enormously. Partha accompanied Shujaatbhai superbly.

    Culturally/musically

  • is an english translation possible?

  • @chrisitar

You've taken away my looks, my identity, by just a glance.

By making me drink the wine of love-potion,

    You've intoxicated me by just a glance;

My fair, delicate wrists with green bangles in them,

Have been held tightly by you with just a glance.

I give my life to you, Oh my cloth-dyer,

You've dyed me in yourself, by just a glance.

I give my whole life to you Oh, Nijam,

You've made me your bride, by just a glance.

  • @arifkhan100 aree Arifkhan.......well rendered .....big help to rawhides like me

    thx j

  • no...it is good in hindi only....

  • Very good piece. The sitar, the voice and the poetry combine to make a very soothing effect. Many thanks for the posting.
