Now it's time to look at boycott of Fred Meyer. Do you value the safety of yourself & family? The Kroger company must not... Why would 1 chain have recalls of both ground turkey & ground beef due to illness concerns? Wow. I'm amazed at the lack of intelligence shown here. Yes, the CEO of Franz made a terrible choice in this commercial, and yes, there is a backlash, but to boycott Franz because of it is pure stupidity. How many hard working union member AMERICANS work for Franz? Did they make this commerical? NO! So, you geniuses want to put honest hard working people out of work because of a rich CEO? Instead, why not send an influx of emails to him directly? Contact him, don't punish the workers.
I absolutely hate Walmart. I hate everything they stand for. In saying that, a friend of mine works for Franz Bakery. He was telling me about how everyone he works with is against this commercial with Walmart. They are all hard working union employees that support their communities. Bob Albers has made a big mistake. His own employees are upset with him. Before you comment or boycott Franz Bakery, remember all the union employees that work there that disagree with their boss and support you.

As a three decade plus employee of Franz Bakery, at this point believe Albers has gone senile or left his brain home the day this pitiful commercial was made. Hopefully readers of these comments know that walmart did not build Franz to where it is today. However, in my opinion, walmart may bring it down a notch. After more research, I found that Sara Lee has been purchased by Oroweat, who is owned by Mexican bread giant Bimbo (that is Anti-American)!!! Other confusing findings that did not make sense... the Franz Bakery story looks like they had more than 1 small bakery before they partnered with WalMart. They really had 6 bakeries before the 1st WalMart was in the area.
Also, don't all of the other bakeries make products for WalMart?
Now we need to BOYCOTT all bread items from Oroweat, Sara Lee too!
This is sad. Too bad the Franz people chose to be involved in this with WalMart. I cannot beleive though that some of the people on here have chosen to make this an anti American message. What kind of bread cn you find that is American? Oroweat is owned by a Mexican company, is that American? Sara Lee is Non Union, is that American? I feel bad for the Franz UNION employees that support our businesses with their hard earned money. What if they chose to BOYCOTT our businesses?
And the VP of Franz when confronted about this says they did nothing wrong. Put that on your PB & J. Walmart was payed a large sum of money to do this ad and sell out all of their competitions. Eat Franz, kill small business. Find another bread to eat and show Franz were not sheep.

@chonkatta; While I agree with your post in principal, don't agree with your last sentence. I knew Joe Franz, and doubt he would have never let this travesty happen in the first place. His philosphy was to provide good jobs, bake a great product and give the best service in town. Really doubt if he would have caved in to this scheme.
We are boycotting FRANZ and relaying the message to our customers that we no longer use FRANZ products. We will not be using their breads and buns at our 4th of July company picnic and the vendors that stop at our shop during break and lunch will be asked to provide proof they do not use Franz products or we will boot them from the property.
I laughed out loud at the description. Haha, walmart, helping small businesses, Ahahaha. So ironic because, There a small business killer.

One less stop I have to make twice a week at their bakery. Time to find another supplier that believes in American values.
