You can easily tell stone and iron apart.

If dirt is connected to the stone/ore then its stone,if it doesnt,its iron.

Some advice while mining. its better to dig strait down switching off between two paths with ledges to brake your fall. also it makes getting back to your previous spot way easier.

I think the difference made in minecraft hostility is pretty strong. Around spawners and night time it's dangerous, and daytime you only need to check out for a few lingering creepers and spiders - but otherwise you can work in peace and set out for projects. So to me that makes it much more project oriented and much more about survivability. Terrarion, as it is, I'd say is more about expansion, achievement, establishment...

By the way, probably been said, you have to have at least wood walls and house, or gray bricks with stone wall, or bricks period, even the floor, for the bed to be in a "safe" place to set your spawn point, doesn't matter on the day or night and you don't sleep at least that i've noticed yet

@legostothemax Minecraft isn't about being 3D. Graphics aren't everything it's about the gameplay. And in terms of quantity Terraria has more going for it than Minecraft. Minecraft has the same potential but Notch never adds exploring updates. It's always new blocks and new materials. Wolves are an exception. And also why are you still watching at episode 3 if you don't like it.

I have never seen one actually break a door outside Blood Moon anyway...

@AssassinRecruit A Blood Moon is when there is a multitude of Zombies and Demon Eyes, (way, way too many) but it gets worse. The zombies can kick your doors open! And they will hurt your NPC's, like normal!
