connect all religions, anyway you can,, with metaphors, analogies, inferences,, seperate the truth from the lies,,, hindusim is real,, pantheism is real,, christianity is real,, christianity is very metaphorical,, in talkin about jesus,, and heaven and hell,, we drink the blood of jesus,, and eat the bread,, and now hes apart of us,, which means all of us together is jesus (the universe)
God becoming a human being is not what the incarnation (hypostatic union) is all about. A human being is necessarily a human person - Mark denies that and only affirms that Jesus - the divine person - has a human nature.
Why do I always hear Christians talking like this? Like it is a bad thing to try to be as good a person as you possibly can? Did Jesus not ask us to try to be "as I am"? Does the Bible not tell us that faith without works is dead? (James 2:17) It's almost like they are trying to say that you can sin all you want and not worry about it because Jesus will cover it anyways. If so, what is the point of repentance? Obviously we need the Savior in the end, but we should still do our best...
The point is, we are not saved through our works(Eph. 2:8) Our good works are a result of the Holy Spirit sanctifying us. Salvation and sanctification are separate, but linked. You can't be saved through good works, rather, our good works are the fruit of salvation.
The point is that trying to be "holy, as I am holy"(that's what it really says) is not how we are saved, it's because we are saved that we pursue holiness through the power of the Holy Spirit. James is saying that if we are not pursuing holiness/doing good works, we are not saved, and Christ is not in us.
The last man's life settles into the grave. Our world is now left in ruins. Extinction exists across the Earth. Eulogy imprinted on their hearts. Humanity now forgotten in the void. Do you know the cause of the universe's failure? The cowardly white light of god is to blame. The church weakness and suffocates the will. Man-made plague to poison the race. Fools live to be led by fools. Holy arrogance builds on their mountain ignorance. This world of misery and you are to blame.
It makes me laugh and cry when people place Jesus on the same level with Santa Claus, the tooth fairy and the "spaghetti monster" which of course are completely mythological with no basis (except Saint Nicolas) in reality. There are a few red necks who believe in Jesus, but there are also scores of scientists, historians, philosophers, and MANY well educated former atheists who now believe in Jesus, not only as a real person in history, which he most certainly was, but as God in the flesh.

I'll give you better than a break, I'll give you a list. Josh McDowell, and Lee Strobel are two of them that you would recognize, but there are thousands more. If you want to go down that road and be embarrassed, by all means, let me know.
"... but there are also scores of scientists, historians, philosophers... "
Josh McDowell is NOT a scientist, NOT a historian, NOT a philosopher. Lee Strobel is NOT a scientist, NOT a historian, NOT a philosopher. NO faculty takes them seriously. What's all this fuss about? Embarrassed? Laughable!
AND: Kirk Cameron is self-described been an atheist until 17.
They are scientists, just not biologists or paleontologists. Archaeology is a science, and both Josh and Lee have studied and have shown their proficiency in that field. You may want look at the definition of science. Science is no one field or discipline, but is any study of facts and evidence that produces results, either negatively or positively. Test tubes and Bunsen burners are but a small part of what science is.
Archaeology actually discredits the credibility of the historicity of the bible. William Albright of Johns Hopkins University tried to bring substantive evidence of the inerrancy of the bible. Instead, he only found contradictions upon contradictions.
The study of ancient languages to prove that a particular race existed or did not is a science, i.e. Egyptology etc. I will acquire the list & give it to you, but your problem lies not in science, but in ignorance of the facts about Jesus & the Bible. To place Jesus in the same category as the Easter Bunny and the Spaghetti monster is sloppy, poor scholarship, and is not even a valid argument. The only believer in a fairy tale in this scenario is you, for believing that Jesus is a fairy tale
Apologetics is one of the most embarrassing fields of thought that is now being rejected by all the prestigious academies, guilds, seminaries, and divinity schools. Josh McDowell and Lee Stroebel are just popular writers who have no clout in the field of biblical studies.
please give me 3 evangelical seminary or 3 evangelical divinity schools that reject Apologetics and please prove that they did reject that field. If you can't do that, then shame on you! ur obviously nothing but an atheist who thinks like ur baboon ancestors or cousins, if u wish.
Be careful. He might be able to do that...if the seminaries embrace the teachings of the Emergent crow(Tickle, Maclaren, Paggitt...) Of course, the question then becomes; are they seminaries now?
to be more specific, i'm asking him to cite historical evegelical reformed seminaries. If he's become successful then God have mercy on america! those Emergent dupes are nothing but false teachers and anybody who knows the Scriptures can tell and will not be deceived. Again, only those who know the Scriptures will be spared.
I agree. Unfortunately, only 20-30 percent of those who claim to be Christians actually read their Bible on a regular basis...Therein lies the danger.
Mormons believe God was once a man like us who progressed to becoming one of many Gods. They believe people can progress to become Gods, too, if they keep all the laws and ordinances of their church. It's so sad. Such blasphemy.
If Mormons would only trust God's word, the Bible, they wouldn't believe those lies from Satan.
I get his point But I dont think these views are as disparate as he makes them out.
the word Christian literaly meant christ-like or little-christs, to describe those that follow the teachings of christ who was a man that was fully god.
