@JoeTheToucan its the style of the show. also, you have to work with the director and their vision, so even if i disagreed, i would have to find a way to make it work. the director gets the final say, especially in professional productions

No issues with the ethnicity......just an issue with the one over acting and the others, under acting...not to mention the 'walk like me' bit........which is so expected. Carmen's partner was so, 'not gay', I thought I was at a tea party convention. All had to over do it, not just one, as it took all the attention away from all the others...not good in ensemble acting. Just my opinion though. Wonder where it was performed, this version?

yup, i sure am. its color blind casting, where the role goes to people based on talent.

it becomes a more difficult world when every leading role has to go to a white person, don't you think?

@dirtyricex any show, except bio's or shows written for a certain group can be made up of any color. 'The Wiz" is black and "Flower Drum Song", must be Asian, or confusion reigns. But anything else, with the exception of, like, 'Gypsy', can be any color. "Mame" can be Japanese, if you like and "Carousel" can take place in Nairobi. Some might be offended, but those are purists whose opinions are shallow yet, in the US, still unfortunately listened to. We are in the US, sociologically constipated.

i love the movie and i think the actors in this are really good! especially the guy playing carmen ghia! :)
