dude if im not wrong, you have set the custom parameter for the wheels for its steerying and also for the acceleration purpose yea? but how do you make the obj move continuously forward (acceleration) like youve done here
Sweet, I only started fiddling with XSI a week ago, I'm using it to make a prop pack for gmod, specificly the stranded gamemode. Incidentaly, you and I should really start playing again. and BBS should get put back up too, good times
my advice, before choosing, is to think about your current understanding of C++ and other scripting language. Something like XSI is based around scripting whereas something like 3ds max in not as 'based' on it. Im not to sure about cinema 4d. If u r going to dedicate urself to learning and using one, i would suggest 3ds max as it is very widely used and most professional animators use it or have used it at some time.
"3ds max as it is very widely used and most professional animators use it or have used it at some time. "
Most professional animators will not use 3DS Max for animating. Maya is their tool of choice, the most widely used animating 3d package. You can also do a search on any animating or gaming job board, 80% of the results i have found all prefer Maya. The price of software often reflects the industry standard. Maya cost more because animation studios will dole out more for it.
NO, way!! XSI is way more powerful, now with ICE and Face Robot. It is true however 3ds max is more popular and can do alot but thats alos ath the expensse of plugins and addons.. I have heard 10 year maya veterans say they would swithc to xsi if they could.. the reason they dont is becuaese its is not an industry standard like maya or 3ds max, but it is definately easier to learn and overall more powerful
@fighterdude83 XSI was NOT easy to learn, but once learned it is easy to work with...I LOVE XSI, and learning MAYA and MAX afterward is kind of lame....
What do you want to do with them is the real question. Maya is great for animation, not the best for modeling, nor the worst. It has some sfx features. 3DSmax is good at modeling, average at animating, its well rounded. Game developers tend to use 3Dsmax for modeling, some use maya for better animating. XSI is good, different, not as widely used. Cinema 4D, mostly used for animation. Dont worry about that. Modo is great for modeling. Blender is free, it is great for everything if you learn it.

Go to Google and type in "Autodesk Softimage XSI" If you don't want to make profitable video games/movies, then get the free one.

Thanks for that info, maybe i'll switch to ODE.
I bet you did try lots of possibilities, so have I ;-)
Looking forward to some new ones... no pressure ;-)

@kerry:
There isn't a tutorial or scene to download on the site. You can see only a discussion about it and some tips.
About the instability... yes, I tryed a lot of solutions and parameter before reach this result.
The Rigid Bodyes are so sensible!
P.S. I used ODE Physic Engine, not the Ageya Engine.
@teo: Yeah, I know! :)
But it was my choice, to emphasize the movements
LokiTreddi 4 years ago
suspension a lil bit too soft :D
I wish I could do that in 3ds max...
teo5151 4 years ago
Is there a tut on creating this rig on the site? Or is there a scene file, to dismantle and learn?
Every time I try this it gets unstable. Ok who do i have to paykill (joke) to get this.
PS Great Job.
kerrytouch 4 years ago
No script. I used only RB with RB Constraint and some expression to connect the car to the controllers like steering, accelerator and brakes
LokiTreddi 4 years ago
did you put script on it?
