My Tantal never had this issue. It was made by Interarms. It has a Chrome lined barrel and is very reliable even with Russian surplus ammo. I think the Pols have a better 74 than the Russkies. Great video by the way sir.
Glad you like my video and I am not trying to be rude. However, I think you have been told incorrectly. That is an old wives tale that has been around since the 5.56 mm became a service round. Think about it, you can't hit crap when your bullet is spinning and whizzing off into the air. Light, hyper velocity bullets do cause alot of damage when they hit, but they are not designed to tumble in the air. Keyholing is not an acceptable part of design.
nice video my friend, and i would just like to say after talking to many AK nuts, and various gun smiths that the key hole issue people claim to have is not a defect at all. the 5.45x39 round was designed to tumble, as the riffle was also designed to in crease tumble. to reduce collateral damage, increase wound size, and internal damage. i have a brand new Tantal and with surplus rounds it key holes, with silver bear ammunition it does not one bit. its a fantastic riffle, and great value.
Yes sir, great video I have a tantal made by century s/n Y004xxx with a 1 in 8 twist barrel it shoots just like the one in your video. My tantal is very well made, fit and finish are very good s/n on the parts don't mach but they look new with very little wear but like you said its a surplus gun and for 400$ I'm happy. Its the 10th ak i have owned but the first in 5.45x39 I'm impressed and its a hoot to shoot.

Does the serial number begin with a "Y"? Because I've heard that the tantals whose serial number starts with a "y" are the ones that have been fixed
