@Karonsay I know! Sometimes Frasier's writers think if they put an annoying character on it would be really funny when it's not - Daphne's mom and poppy. I also think Bebe's really annoying although I know many fans think she IS funny (I don't know why)

Considering that the characters on Frasier are all nice people this episode kind of showcases a mean side in the way that they treat poppy. Frasier deceives and uses her, Gill and Ros avoid her at all costs, Daphne shoots her dirty looks the entire visit and Martin straight up slams the door in her face. Obviously its just a show but i was surprised at how they all treated someone who was genuine even if she was a little off, doesnt fit with their typical attitudes.

She applied for the job as a physical therapist, but the job with Frasier and Martin was including cleaning, cooking, laundry and such things. So she knew about that when she took the job. But I guess sometimes, when she grumbles a bit about being treated as a maid, it's because her professional title is Physical Therapist and gets annoyed when they refer to her as a housekeeper.

@luname82 The writers were pretty smart about this aspect of Daphne's character. Most patients expect that their in-home healthcare workers will do light housekeeping. Great question! Just another reason why this is a great show.... attention to detail.

While it's fairly obvious Poppy got thrown off the air faster than you can say: "HE WAS DEAF!" but it's kind of a shame they don't actually show it in an episode. (to the best of my recollection anyway) Would've been funny to see her yell at her mommy for doing that ^^
