i have the same skin problem as what he had.. its not that bad, i get treated for it 3 days a week, and its slowly getting better, but if it gets too badly sunburnt, then it can cause skin cancer easier than the rest of my body..
I think he used Monobenzone, it's suppose to even out your skin when you have white patches.. But keep in mind if it's very small your condition I wouldn't recommend it.. Monobenzone is the most potent skin bleach you can get, even stronger than Hydroquinone..

I am getting white patches on my face, I just came from the doctor and they said I had vitiligo. I also heard that Michael Jackson had this, he just covered the patches with make-up. I guess he couldn't when he turned all white. =(
I think it's logical to assume that Michael had vitiligo and because of that he did use makeup on his skin to even the pigment changes. I also think that vitiligo is the reason for some of the facial plastic surgeries.
I also have vitiligo, but I'm caucasian and not a superstar child prodigy so I get by with a lot less pain than Mike did.
@rainacopeland I dunno about that. Perhaps he did both. You can see in several of the pictures in this video where his makeup has smudged from sweat, and it's evident that he is wearing makeup (not just on his face).
for all of you guys that are talking about vitiliago I actually HAVE it, so I know more about it than any of you guys. It is NOT caused by plastic surgery or anything strange like that, it is a skin disorder. I got mine when I was around 6 , and NOTHING happened to me that would have triggered it, it came in my genes and only arose at the age of 6. He couldn't help why his skin was like that. I have never considered bleaching my body before though. I'm happy with who I am.

It's not nice to lie. There's different kinds of vitiligo and what Michael had was universal vitiligo which nearly destroys or COMPLETELY eradicates all skin pigmentation. In order for his to not be completely obvious he would have to be covered in full body make-up.

I believe he had vitiligo but I don't think he dealt with it in the right way. He knew that eventually people would ask questions. He should have done a press conference earlier with a renowned dermatologist at his side and said look I have this condition that makes white patches on the skin so I have to even it out and I'm not trying to be white. He could also have brought some photos of himself without make-up to show the white patches. And the dermatologist could have verified it.

Vitiligo is physically harmless, but extremely mentally distressing for a sufferer.
There is no cure. You slowly over time watch patches of your skin turn the totally opposite colour and theres NOTHING you can to do stop it.
It's not like cancer where you will die from it . It's something you have to live with for the rest of your life. Makes you look as though you've suffered severe burns at first glance.

I think he used Monobenzone, it's suppose to even out your skin when you have white patches.. But keep in mind if it's very small your condition I wouldn't recommend it.. Monobenzone is the most potent skin bleach you can get, even stronger than Hydroquinone..

I think it's logical to assume that Michael had vitiligo and because of that he did use makeup on his skin to even the pigment changes. I also think that vitiligo is the reason for some of the facial plastic surgeries.
I also have vitiligo, but I'm caucasian and not a superstar child prodigy so I get by with a lot less pain than Mike did.

for all of you guys that are talking about vitiliago I actually HAVE it, so I know more about it than any of you guys. It is NOT caused by plastic surgery or anything strange like that, it is a skin disorder. I got mine when I was around 6 , and NOTHING happened to me that would have triggered it, it came in my genes and only arose at the age of 6. He couldn't help why his skin was like that. I have never considered bleaching my body before though. I'm happy with who I am.

I believe he had vitiligo but I don't think he dealt with it in the right way. He knew that eventually people would ask questions. He should have done a press conference earlier with a renowned dermatologist at his side and said look I have this condition that makes white patches on the skin so I have to even it out and I'm not trying to be white. He could also have brought some photos of himself without make-up to show the white patches. And the dermatologist could have verified it.

Vitiligo is physically harmless, but extremely mentally distressing for a sufferer.
There is no cure. You slowly over time watch patches of your skin turn the totally opposite colour and theres NOTHING you can to do stop it.
It's not like cancer where you will die from it . It's something you have to live with for the rest of your life. Makes you look as though you've suffered severe burns at first glance.

Do you realize how many black celebrities change their appearance every single day?! You say that Michael straightened his hair...LOOK AROUND! As much as I love Michael,one thing I did not like,is that he waited so LONG to tell the world,that he had Vitiligo. If he had let us know as it first happened,or maybe a years time to see what he could do or had to do to handle it,or get used to it,I don't think he would have had the rumors and innuendo of having a problem with his own color,if he had let us know earlier. Because he waited so long and left us guessing,almost 10 years after he was diagnosed,somes minds were already made up.

@TheLovelylove oh my, michael was too shy about his appearance, so he waited until suitable time to tell the world that he had vitiligo...its okay to tell the truth even it takes a long times than never tell about it..if he tell the world earlier, people will be confused because people can see he still black american and he has a small spot of white spot...he takes a long times because he need strength and self confident to tell his fans about his disease...do u ever think about it???

@fiqrulazman You are absoulutly right,I didn't think of that. I know he is shy,to the point of crippling,but he said that himself. I guess I do need more sympathy for him,I know how hard it is myself to struggle with a bad body image. I still do wish though,he had more encouragement in his life to come forward to it,I just can't stand the people who think he was trying to fake some disease,because he told us so late.people are so ignorant. But thnx for opening my eyes to that.

@TheLovelylove, MJ might have needed some time to come to terms with his vitiligo, a such a not so pretty physical transformation. If in the begining itself people started beliving he had vitiligo, the press/paparazzi will be all over him to show all his spots, saying how ugly he is and how he uses makeup to conceal all that. He was a man of dignity and a victim of racism and fame.

@TheLovelylove Well to be honest, i saw a documentary of MJ on Entertainment tonight, it was about the doctor 'Dr. Murry'. Michael had an infection on his leg, Michael told everyone it was a Spider Bite but it wasn't, It was an injection. Dr. Murry put in him. It went all wrong so Dr. Murry told Michael to lie about it. Michael lied because he wanted more, if he did not, Dr. Murry might have been in prison. So who knows, maybe he had to lie about that too! Until people where being REALLY mean!

@Travelatrie actually white people can get it. im white and my friend is white and he HAS vitiligo on his face arms and legs. when he goes in the sun the patches burn and turn red and the other parts tan, so i can understand why michael couldnt go out in the sun; his whole body would burn. ive also seen many black people who have it, be it on tv, from just walking down the street or in the mall or something. maybe there are people that dont get it, but his fans, black or white, believe him.

i realized that i totally misinterpreted your comment lol, sorry. but i think i got my point across in my first comment that white people can get vitiligo. and yes it is less likely, it happens more commonly in people with darker skin tones (black skin, tan skin, like my friend). again im sorry for reading it wrong!

I watched a video that features a black news anchor who uses dark makeup to cover his condition. Im wondering why Michael choose to use light instead of dark...did his condition just get to the point where he was more white than black and it just made more sense to touch up with light makeup?
it doesnt really matter to me what color he was, he was a wonderful humanitarian/entertainer and i love him even if he was green :D

Jordie said he lied cause his father forced him&it was to“escape being poor” MJ was rich.
