It's Al Pacino then De Niro and then Nicholson only in my opinion. Many roles define actors like people who play superheroes or people in biopics but Pacino is the one who defines his roles. He makes them iconic. Marlon Brando shouldn't even be mentioned here since he's from another time. Compare him to other greats like Humphrey Bogart or Errol Flynn. The same way Christian Bale, Johnny Depp, Leo DiCaprio, Colin Farrell and Mark Wahlberg are to me the best of the new generation.

Tough choice. Robert De Niro is a very talented actor, and he has done some great performances, but he have never really done it for me, unlike Al Pacino and Jack Nicholson. They are both extremely versatile, in a range that tops De Niro's. They are good at playing badasses, and they can play the sad, emotional guy aswell. But I'm gonna have to go with Pacino though, since I've been a fan of him for a long time, and I've just recently discovered the greatness of mr. Nicholson.

Yes Robert De Niro has too played in several comedies, two with billy crystal, I forgot the names. He's also been in King of Comedy, which i think is hilarious.
