  • Anthropology is not anthropology anymore...Why they don't teach about human races like mediterranid nordid indid or iranid ?

The politic correctness Agenda has reached anthropology

  • @PontidLeader There is no such thing as race. Research the findings. It's just an egotistical way for people to drive a wedge between each other.

  • the american government should learn anthropology. They need to understand that some cultures are 1000s of years old and cannot operate under their laws. Colonialization is the downfall of anthropology. Soon the world will be under an american modern influence, and the cultural ideals formed over generations will be dead.

  • i like this! i didn't even know what anthropology was until i saw this. thanks!

  • Anthropology is good and everything but if I have to read up on diffusionist, neo evolutionist or comparativist anthropology one more time I will burn down the anthropology department at my uni!!! I MEAN IT!!! (two words ... dissertation procrastination...if youve done it you'll understand haha)

  • when i get into college i want to major in anthropology, i've had a huge interest in it since i was a lot younger

  • I'm taking an anthropology class. It's really fun!

  • @bananaclonz11 what kind of stuff are you studying? thinking of applying for it...

  • I always thought anthropology was with potions and stuff lol.

  • this helped me alot on a class paper. thank you. one love

  • Intrinsic Anthopology is the key to the future of society'

  • @jrsampson2000 gEE WIizz anthroplogy is the answer to the future and it has everythng to do with economics' and how people are being affected in what decides' what to do about the malady of society'

  • please recommend a really good book written by an anthropologist, thank you :)

  • @skimenneske I looked for books to get started in Anthropology and found "Anthropology The Basics" by Peter Metcalf a good beginner's book.

  • I'm going to be taking a class on Anthropology this fall. Don't know what to expect.

  • I love anthropology and so should you, you are human right? Anthropology is great for those who have harbored unsupported racist ideas for a decade or longer only to realize it was all politics, ouch! So yes I love how anthropology lets us see where we are wrong in our beliefs about humans on this planet.

  • i am also study anthropology at sindh university

  • Bueno. eso es todo. en cuatro meses me gradúo de arquitectura y empiezo a estudiar antropología.

  • always intrigued me... i m a lawyer but anthropology would be my second profession choice

  • Turn the sound down and listen to this song while you watch.

  • Holly cow, I want to be an anthropologist!

  • @minus30outsidewhy dont u just take the pill for it ? yeah they have a pill u take and u just become a anthropologist after half an hour its so cool u gotta try it :) .

  • I start anthropology next month at university..... Can't wait!

  • @MrShedinthepeg is it cool? I want to know if I should take it.

  • @claton95 Was cool enough for both grandparents, mother and uncle to take, major, graduate, get into professions. BUT...it's a lot of work. Worth it.

  • @usdeptofsmooth What kind of careers can you go into with an anthropology major?

  • @claton95 Why do you want to go into anthropology? If you like for things to move quickly, this wouldn't be the field for you. It's ideal for a slow-paced, methodical, inquisitive thinker. Do you ask a lot of "why" questions or do you just accept what you read, are told? Anthropologists questions EVERYTHING to death. A lot of times, they don't accept the findings of studies and dispute those, as well. People who naturally take to anthropology are a certain type of thinker. Also,....(cont.d)...

  • @claton95 ...if your'e looking at going into anthropology, count on fierce competition, and a post-graduate degree. This means much money towards your education. All of the career anthropologists in my family obtained their PhD (doctorate). The only one who obtained a bachelor's in anthropology, in my family, went into a career that isn't directly related to anthro (but indirectly useful). If you're looking at anthro. for a good salary, you have to be excellent in your field with a PhD.

  • @usdeptofsmooth I'm curious, what kind of work do your family members do (the ones who obtained PhDs)?

  • @MrShedinthepeg Exciting isn't it!

  • Overall I liked the video, although at 0:50 it starts to get a bit simplistic because it overly romanticizes issues of cultural difference and social development. I wouldn't say that "respect comes naturally", "stories become truths which connect us", and "all of human experience is tied together into one coherent system". It almost sounds like a hippie manifesto! Oh and yes, I'm a social anthropologist.

  • A novel about an alternative view of evolution see video book trailer

  • great info video :)

  • what can you do if you want to study anthropology? i mean career wise. classes to take in high school geared towards that too please?

  • @starchick12 I was wondering the same thing!! Does your school offer AP classes? Because I've looked on Collegeboard, and it says that if your school offers it, you should take AP World history and AP human geography. Hope it helps, I know I have oodles of questions myself :)

  • @Juliabeach I am currently taking AP World. Its great but human geography will be new next year and im a little apprehensive. I saw some sample questions of the exam and it seems really hard.

  • @starchick12 currently im in ap hug(human geo) and it really isnt that difficult. maybe it really depends on who is teaching but the material is really not hard to understand AT ALL. I took AP Wrold last year and it is ap hug is nowhere near as AP World.

  • @funnytime12045h hmm I'll see but thanks for letting me know!

  • i didnt even know there was asubject on studying cultures i unintentionally do it all the time!!! im going to study journalism in college though!!! (inshallah)

  • This is a nice video :)

  • I like it first time hearing of this and I'm

    Already persuaded into consideration

But first I must Gain more knowledge

But this already seems to fit my beliefs well.

  • Thank you for sharin this video, really informative. Basically i am looking for subject Anthropology in perspective of religions, for example anthropology of Islam or christianity etc what does it mean and how does it different from common religious friends.

  • thank's for that video. Any further tips where studying Anthropolgy ? - I read about that there are different schools, e.g. British way or North American style...

  • @IMCOnAir Well, the schools aren't as prevalent now as they used to be, since we do live in the postmodern society after all. The European school is usually more focused on structure among societies (structuralism) while the American school is more interested in culture (and how past culture forms the present). However, even though I study in Europe, I have chosen to follow Clifford Geertz' teachings because it feels more natural to me, for example.

  • thank's, Lauren.... I am broadcasting a show for promoting inter-cultural dialogue between South Asia (mainly India) and Europe and I am just looking for some ways to qualify my own further own. Cultural Anthropology and Music Ethnology might be a good thing...

  • Thanks for pointing out this video and using it for our Anthropology course Alberto and Thanks Lauren for sharing!! Strong selection of words and visuals!
