Armstrong's a Texan who always rode for Murican teams. He trained in Hawaii and southern France. Liquigas is an Italian team that trains in California and southern Spain. So who trains in Rhode Island and southern New Zealand?
Well you get regular pay from the team by sponsors and you get additional pay for victories and winning stages. Getting the team sponsors advertised, the sponsors will feel they got their money's worth and the team will get more money.
You compare a weak team for example AG2R and Saxo Bank, obviously riders on Saxo Bank will earn more money on average.
But you do get those weaker pro riders on the team who also don't get paid as well as a stronger rider.
@dahgutone Actually, some of the 'not so good' riders can still get paid very well indeed, almost as much as the team leader, because of the work they do for the team leader etc, but the team leader makes much more money through sponsorship deals and TV/event appearances.
@giguchan yea... this was my first year riding. im only 5 7 and was about 195 pounds. within 2 months i got it down to about 170 to 165 pounds and was flying and doing hills a lot better. every week i can see an improvement in something that i do.
@giguchan yea man.... once you get up there is becomes pretty fun. like riding on residential streets and being able to keep up with traffic and drafting off cars to go faster is fun. There's nothing like riding along at a smooth pace and pass a car.
Hey all you cyclists out there. I have a channel now with a video of my LeMond bike. check it out please. I'm a smal team in the Bay Area. My specialty is climbing. check out my bike

@giguchan That would be 25kph on the car speedometer. The world is metric except for the UK and the US; they need to get with the times.
TLPnega 1 year ago
@TLPnega that's 25 mph. the dashes on the inside are kph. get your facts straight.

But yeah, each rider gets a different salary depending on how well they perform.

it's cool to see the pro's out on my local training routes. 25 mph is easy to hit out there due to the delta winds so it's not that impressive.

Nice video and a great place to ride. The Super Six must be a great ride. The System Six is my current bike and it is quick and great for climbing.

I've got a system six as well. I love it. This thing really lives up to its reputation as a great sprinter & climber!! Stu
