This is a great album; there are a couple of songs I'm not crazy about like the title song, Mind Games. Over all it's a very melodic, heart felt and beautiful album. Wish there was another rocker or two like Meat City.

@AntiquatedPoet as far as i know it was just typical relationship problems. i read somewhere that the strain of being responsible for breaking up the beatles got to yoko too but don't know if that's true.

Yes, I recently just listened to John's last interview (the day he died) and Yoko told the story about how America's negative reaction towards her was getting too intense and she just needed to think and be alone for a while. She actually told John to "Get out." I heard John wanted to come back after three weeks in LA but she said that he wasn't ready. He finally was allowed back 18 months later.

Basically after years of immigration hassles and FBI investigations, the constant media of life with an ex Beatle and association with left wing radicals finally took it's toll. The straw that broke the proverbial camel's back was that John screwed some girl at a party being held to commiserate Nixon's re-election. Everyone including Yoko could hear them going at it.

hmmm ... Have you heard Lennon's rare studio takes of these songs on his box set? I like his other version of "One day at a time" better. He used a lower tone to his voice which sounded better than the one on this album. Mind Games is by far the best song on here in my opinion. Love it.
