@sootyferrari65 Bell 222 (any variant) is replaced by stronger type Bell 430, new airwolf is planned to be based on this type. And Bell 222 is also OUT OF PRODUCTION!
Nothing special here... That's what the AStars are made to do. That's why the police use them. Now if you double that speed, you'll get close to AirWolf.
@shiakue666 someone somewhere will know both the pilot (obvious helmet) and the operator, only a matter of time before he turns up in an NTSB report...

ya, i know ye didnt win them, ye needed the americans, at leat the Irish didnt need help beating ye!!!!, and the Irish also train the royal air force pilots, dont say they dont because i was one of the instructors, and the pilots hadnt a clue of what to do, even the most basic flying skills and they still couldnt grasp it. too much money and no skill in the raf, sas and the navy.
If this were a real life Airwolf-like flight, it would have been in a Bell 222, NOT a European Aerospatial/Eurocopter Ecureil or "Astar" as us Americans call it.

i would be interested in seeing these sites. airwolf was the 3rd to last bell 222a built. serial number N3176S. the 222b has a taller main rotor mast, winglet sponson supports, and different tail boom extension to name a few differences. i can give you detailed info and pictures if you like. shoot a me a message with email addresses
I don't get it how citizens of Canada, USA, Alaska, nothern parts of Scandinavian countries or Russia or Romania can just spend so much time in the woods.
I don't care how much it is said about bears avoiding contact with humans. I saw on YouTube how fast a bear can ran, how well it climbs trees and swims. Then I read about deadly bear attacks (including consumption of the victim) and that's enough for me to keep out of the woods. Don't fuck with wildlife.
Wow. Is that Points North out of Cordova, the Warren Miller staple of late?
geartool 3 months ago
@geartool Yes, it's Point's North. They seem to be in Warren Miller every year. The WM crew were due the week after we skiied in 2006.

Big diference betwen a bell 222 and Eurocopter astar 350 B2 or B3

This is not the "Airwolf" helicopter. A modified Bell 222 was the actual aircraft used for the show. Not the helicopter shown in this video.

Your comments prove prove that your grasp of military matters, history and the english language are quite poor.
Several of my familyare/were in the RAF, two of whom are pilots. Neither were never trained by the Irish!
The US refused to help in the Falklands. They were late to both world wars. The British were left to fight Nazi Germany on our own for two years!
As a national of a country that hid behind a flag of neutrality in WW2, you should learn not to comment on military history!

Um, I can't tell that helicopter is Airwolf, but it does resemble the Bell 222 from the inside anyway.
marq74 3 years ago
it's not airwolf, the real airwolf was struck my lighting and crashed after the show when it was sold to a german medi air company.
This is an astar or as350 which ever you prefer, a Eurocopter not a bell 222.

Don't be sorry. And don't take things so literally either.
Matt Darby 3 years ago 6
actually airwolf is based on a 222a
c00nhunterjoe 3 years ago
That's odd, all the Airwolf websites have stated that it was based on a Bell 222B... maybe you can fill me in on the difference?

No, we were flying along a river the flows into Nelson Bay near Cordova in Alaska after helisking in the Chugatch Mountains.
Matt Darby 3 years ago
If you crashed and survived, you would be eaten by Alaska bears.
theannoyingdogpoo 3 years ago
Indeed so. After one day's skiing we landed by the river to check out some bear tracks that were only a few hours old.
Matt Darby 3 years ago
Man, this is completely scary.

is it "speeded "" up", or is he really so fast?
wwwabc123456de 3 years ago
It's not speeded up, the ground was just really close. I asked the pilot afterward and he said "oh, we were never closer than 5 feet"!
