With that being said I want to say that comparing these series really doesn't work. Twilight was aimed at a younger audience so there's only so far they can push the boudaries of that series. However since True Blood was made for a more mature audience they can add more sex and violence. Twilight was primarly a romance with a vampire twist whereas True Blood is adventure.

I love True Blood and the Sookie Stackhouse novels. Its NOTHING like Twilight, thankfully. True Blood has a great story, awesome characters and I couldn't put down the books until I finished them the same day I bought them. I began reading the Twilight series and got bored halfway through the second book and I gave them away. After reading the True Blood books, Twilight seemed like shit.

True Blood. Why? even though it gets really fucking wacky at times (season 3, way better than season two), the characters are likable, when it comes down to it, even the way the vampires on this show die is really fucking gory, the action scenes live up to what they promise, and let's face it, Eric is bad ass with a pretty boy's face. Twilight on the other hand, makes me want to eat a gun.

you should at least put up similar scenes up like action in twilight vs action in true blood, but seriously the romance for both of the series are......dull (well jessicaXhoyt was cute). Though I do like True Blood a lot more, it could've been so much better if they focused on one arc at a time because all of the side stories with sam and jason. it annoyed the heck out of me when i wanted to see what was going to happen to eric. dont care much for the main charas of true blood though. :\

I seriously LOVE true blood. But I like the Books(The Southern Vampire Mysteries) much better. And there's like ten of them, and more coming. I don't see Twilight having an awesome TV show(just 4 sucky movies), or 10+ epic books. Now, if Bella had a bone of sense in her body (and was unbratty and unselfish), and Edward wasn't so girly & non vampirish, the books would've been sooo much better. But the twilight books/movies are no where near the greatness of the SVM/True Blood series

its not the violence in true blood tat makes it better its the complicated story lines and character development and it addresses allot of important issues. They seem like real people. Twilight annoys me for allot of reasons, one of them is the characters, so angsty. Bella has a great life, i don't see what she's to sad about all the time and aren't you supposed to be happy to see the one you love, Bella and Edward look upset every time they see each other.

Personally i really love Twilight for one: It puts new meaning on vampires just because in twilight they don't die by sunlight, or a steak through the heart, or holywater is fine with me in fact it makes it more interesting. Two: Twilight vampires to me are alot better than true blood vamps plain and simple.

The problem about twilight isn't so much that it's badly done with flat characters and pointless conflicts. It's the fact that is decidedly antifeminist, anti abortionist and anti pre conjugal sex that's the problem. The female character is selfish, whiny and incapable of having a normal relationships, hurts a lot of people, and yet still gets everything without having to suffer any consequences because of her choice. I love True Blood and the Sookie Stackhouse novels. Its NOTHING like Twilight, thankfully. True Blood has a great story, awesome characters and I couldn't put down the books until I finished them the same day I bought them. I began reading the Twilight series and got bored halfway through the second book and I gave them away. After reading the True Blood books, Twilight seemed like shit.
Oh, and True Blood as Alexander Skarsgard. ;) Can't wait for season 4!

You cant really compare Twilight and True Blood yea some of the characters resemble each other but still True Blood is for a more mature audience and Twilight is meant to appeal to a younger demographic, Everyone is complaining about the fight scenes and gore of Twilight but I mean it's a series younger people and True Blood can almost be like the adult version well obviously I mean its shown on HBO... to me it's kind of like apples and oranges.

True Blood. Why? even though it gets really fucking wacky at times (season 3, way better than season two), the characters are likable, when it comes down to it, even the way the vampires on this show die is really fucking gory, the action scenes live up to what they promise, and let's face it, Eric is bad ass with a pretty boy's face. Twilight on the other hand, makes me want to eat a gun.
