  • Wisconsin, say Cheese!

  • So the "V" shape inside a square for want of a better description, is actually only the luffing mast?

That is a mean machine for sure.

  • 50 million pounds! that thing could lift Rosie O'Donnell out of the bathtub! wow!

  • I worked ther when it was still called Mtwc Shipyards, located by the river..looks like they moved their test yard.

  • @DEELEEREE very cool. I seem to remember you telling me about working there when you lived on s 12th street with us.

  • very cool Dennis. I'm sure you know more about them than I. I just happen to live near by, and have some friends that helped build them. Fun to watch these big ole crawlers though.

  • forgot to mention way back ...after graduating from cleveland tech in 71 or 72 I worked on Mtwc cranes...on crawlers...rotating beds...and car bodys.

so Im not totally in the dark about these things

  • @DEELEEREE very cool Dennis. I'm sure you know more about them than I. I just happen to live near by, and have some friends that helped build them. Fun to watch these big ole crawlers though. Have a gr8 week.

  • i belive the lampson 3000 is the largest "mobile crawler crane" in the world the taisun is a stationary gantry crane dont quote me though

  • 4600 Manitowoc ringer is more better

  • My dad used to operate a manitowoc crane awesome stuff.

  • @tyrone121285 Very Cool.... Thanx very much for checking on a vid of mine.

  • This is not the biggest. The biggest you can find in China.

TAISUN, is the largest, strongest crane in the world and dual heavy lift world

  • I guess this is meant to be the largest Crawler crane

  • @joshua12345676 It was supposed to have the Highest Lifting height of 721 ft. at the time of the vid post last spring. They have a larger boom on it now but it still doesn't look at all like more that 2 football fields of lifting height. But there're still experimenting and running lift tests with it. Thanx for stoppin by to view this vid. I just posted a new one last week with the new boom on it. Check it out if you have time.

  • NOT boring.

  • And overcoming leverage and mechanical advantages?!!

  • @PlasticViolenceLego Hi, They've been working on it and are now constructing a second in the same yard. very impressive. And they now have a huge boom on it. I have a "From 3 miles away" vid posted and will try to get a vid of the crane in it's present state as soon as this spring blizzard we just had cleans up a bit... Check back or subscribe if you'd like. Have a gr8 day.

Thanks for the outline description of the 31000!

The figures just boggle the mind don't they?

Take care, and thanks once again.

  • With these large cranes, like the CC8800 Twin, this crane and the Leibherr 11200, just how much are they? And just how many do they actual sell? Just interested to know as I'm guessing your talking a few million for each crane?

  • thaks for th evid man and i dont care it isnt an music vid:P o and isnt the Terex demag CC8800 twin the biigest and strongest crane?

  • Our 31,000 isn't the worlds largest crane and it actually lifted 5.5 million but not anywhere near 721 feet high. I'm extremely proud to work for Crane Rental Corp but I won't lie to you. The world's largest cranes are ship mounted. The Swan has a 8,700 ton rig and another crane ship has 2 revolving electric cranes that will lift 7,000 tons each and 14,000 together. Our 31,000 is however the largest Manitowoc crawler ever built and is fully mobil with it's max load.

  • Demag still owns the rest where tonnage is concerned...for the crawler class.

But the marine giants Thialf, Saipem are still the biggest cranes in the world.

  • Very cool!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @moinpoin10 .... Thanx.....

  • "Worlds Largest Lifting Capacity Crawler Crane" ???

This crane can lift 2300 metric tonnes (2535 US tons).

The Terex Demag CC 8800 twin crawler crane, which was introduced in 2007, can lift 3200 metric tonnes (3527 US tons)

Also Liebherr is currently assembling a crawler crane which can lift 3000t (3307 US tons)

  • @5up3rAIN002

Ur right about the Twin, but wrong about the Liebherr. It can actually lift 1750ton, not 3,000ton, which is a obvious exxageration.

Which means that this bad boy will be the largest single boom crane on american soil that can crawl.

  • What makes LR 13000 an 1750t crane and not 3000t?? Even LR 11350 can lift almost 1600t actually...

  • @mammoet1133

Or even better; CC 8800-1 (and CC 9800) is a 1600t crane which can probably take an overload to of +150t (=1750t) without problems. And if you then compare it with LR 13000, which is almost twice as big and stronger built, you get what I mean...

So again, tell me more about your "1750t theory" or I'll say you are wrong.

  • @5up3rAIN002 Wow Cool... Thanx for the facts. Yea I need to change the video heading. What makes this one so big is that it'll (When completed) lift to a height of 721 Feet. That's really awesome. I'll change the heading... Once again... Thanxs.

  • @5up3rAIN002 ya,, the Demag 8800 twin is sick,,, 1,750 tons of counter weight,....as an ironworker , ive been workin with cranes on a regular basis for 11 years, i like working with tower cranes the best cause puttin em together and takin em apart is a good time. but for Hydraulic cranes i like the Liebehrs, and conventionals, i like the MANNYS... just my opinon. theyr all amazing machines

  • AWESOME video! Till this day there are 3 Manitowoc cranes at Ground Zero. I am glad that you mentioned that it is US history.

  • @328DLCR wow... I didn't know that there are still 3 Manitowoc cranes at Ground Zero. Thanx for that FYI!! My Mom and Dad used to tell me that Manitowoc Cranes has played an important role in history throught the entire time thev've been established. I'll bet a quick google search would turn up a HUGE portion of the history we've talked about! Thanx for the awesome commentary.

  • Thank you for sharing that with us!!

  • @daithi1075 Hey Thanx for the cool comment. I hope to do another vid as they're putting the booms on it. Ohh And Your welcome..lol

  • this 31000 is sold to Crane Rental Corp. this is the first one built so far, they said it will take about 110 truck loads to haul it all and has a price tag of around 30 million, cant wait to see it with the luffing jib on, its one awesome crane

  • @cranedude07 I totally agree with everything you've said. When I drive by it I just get this Hyped Feeling. Have a gr8 week.

  • awesome video, i went there back in september in 09, it sure is a beast!!! keep more videos of the crane coming

  • @cranedude07 Thanx Cranedude... When they get the booms on I'll do another vid. And thanx for the Comments.

  • Crane Rental buys Manitowoc 31000:

    Bulldog Buys 1st 31000"

SC & RA Tour Last Fall at Manitowoc:

Hope all this information helps! Go MTW!!

  • @woodchips00 Hey Thanx again for the facts and return of my questions. Did you say and mean a lifting height of 721 ft?!?! Wow. AWESOME.

  • I think that video was great, and as he had stated the facts may or may not be completely accurate. Awesome video!! Very informative.

  • @MidnightStorms365 Thanks Storm. And thanx for droppin buy my channel. Have a wonderful day.

  • The New Model 31000! The guy does not have his facts straight but the video was great!

Looking at My Chart on the Wall: As Follows:

Model 31000 Lattice Boom Crawler Crane:

(2,535) US Tons Capacity- 5.5 Million Pounds.

    Max Height: 721 Feet.

Capacity at Maximum Radius: 530 Feet (45.0 US Tons).

  • @woodchips00 Wow Awesome. Thanx for posting the correct facts about the 310000. I'm impressed with That crane everytime I pass by the yards. Can you tell me?? Was The 31000 buildt to lift 3 MEGAWATT electric motors up onto wind farm towers? That's just what I've heard. Once again thanks for droppin by with accurate info! Have a gr8 week.

  • 50 million divided by 2000 is what ???????better learn math...go ahead block me like a big baby......cant stand the truth or not man enough for confrontation....hard to admit your wrong when you think your all that. AND a bag of chips. what a loser !!!

  • @megarealman1 Dennis. As far as I can see The math is right. The vid is posted correctly. And you can call me anything U want. It doesn't change the fact that your wrong, and the entire world can see that you've (AGAIN) made a fool of yourself right here. Fact is 25,000 tons out lifts the Yanti rated at 20,000 tons By 5000 tons. So when this Crawler crane is done and is known as the Largest Lifting capacity crane on the planet. You can remember that you heard it hear 1st.

  • the worlds largest crane was built by YANTAI RAFFLES SHIPYARD in YANTAI, CHINA CAPACITY...20,000 TONS could it be the worlds largest crawler crane...gantry...bridge crane....learn what your talking about.

  • @VCE738 You again?!?! This vid was posted as an interesting FYI and as I stated in the vid and in text under the vid. That I believed that my info was accurate and that I had no documentation of proof. But you say your worlds largest crane can lift 20,000 tons. Well if you take 50,000,000 lbs and divide by 2000 lbs (A ton) this crane will out lift yours by 5000 Tons for a total of 25,000 ton of lifting.
