  • after listening to the in flames cover you'll hate this original version. i know i do.

  • yeah it's good...but still too slow and too dull...

sorry to all you 80's rock fans, but in flames version is way better, and lets face it...more modern. you cant live by the past and ignore all the good stuff in the present

  • The chic = HOT The music= CRAP

  • Heja Sverige!

  • How can people come here just to say shit like In Flames version is better? In Flames version wouldnt be better than this even if they had wrote this.

This is how music must be and not like that scream emo thing.

  • @DannyelBonJovi Because people have different tastes in music and came here to see what the original was like because they love the In Flames cover. In Flames is the greatest band that ever existed and I think they perfected this song and their version is so much better then Treat's original version, however I came here to give my respect to Treat for originally writing the song.

  • In Flames' is better, but you should always respect the original.

  • TREAT another good band.M

  • Anyone willing to explain what in the hell this video has to do with the lyrics?

Though she's quite steaming so I don't know if I should care, really.

  • @SuperPekka

i guess that the girl who aparently is Colombian means the warmer land than Svergie is,

and the band are the inmigrants from the colder land. it is in the lyrics indeed.

  • i like girls like in this clip,is anybody ther

  • pink fluffy boxing gloves with pics of kities on them??? abit counter intuitive.

  • @monsterenergypower you cant compare IF style to Treat, first of all respect originals :D

  • god they sound so much like Europe, must be a europian thing.........

  • These guys would have been huge in the 80s if they only had good representation and a record company that was willing to promote them. But alas, another great musical group that had fallen to the way side. Good thing they are still around to put out great music.

  • @tortenecke ok so i was right she is a playboy model

  • Ok both versions are awesome in my books!

And yes that chick is very hot. But very stupid as she's wearing headgear to punch a bag.... Is it going to hit back?

  • Um... In Flames version is better.

  • @pspvampire In Flames got it from Treat. Treat were the authors of this song. They made it.

  • @pspvampire

    I agree

  • @pspvampire no way... In Flames cover is MUCH better

  • When i first heard this song... I thought it was a Europe song

Like it or not and respect a different opinion.

    That´s what its all about.

I know this song and video from the late 80s TV show mosh.

I did some homework now about "AOR" and just recently

    bought the dreamhunter album.

My favorite song is Sole survivor.

  • Big thanks to In Flames for introducing me to this tune!

  • affengeil

  • i give em respect for doing it first but i must say i like in flames version better

  • LOVIN IT!

    Amazing song

  • J'adore ! Excellent !

  • I love this song and video!!! PURE 80s!!!

  • @thedrip Don't forget it's you people badmouthing our music here. Just giving back some respect.

I don't care what you listen, but don't try to take away from something good. Makes you fake. The original energizes the Rock in melodic art, therefore I consider it to have the better of the cover.

But whatever. I think we should rather form a unit for R N R, aka true music, and address the Hip Pop fraud. They're who started this argument in the first place. Real Metal fans respect each other.

  • @MikeTuinstra You're no different than them.

There is no true music, only genres that apply more musical theory than others.

Rock n Roll is music, Hip hop is music, Death metal is music.

And melodic rock, complex? Not at all.

Complex is progressive, some folcloric music, symphonies, that's complex.

Thats the reason only certain people like them. Metal tends to have complex rhytms, for people with musical knowledge. Mainstream music, however, is usually simple, friendly to non-musicians.

  • @posm You seem to deny melody in Rock for musical art. It's mainstream for being popular, as opposed to the "mainstream" trash that gets forced on the airwaves through payola. There's lots of complexity in the structure of Melodic Rock songs. It's blending the Rock art with the art of melody.

I don't deny the arts of the genres you listed, I answer a bias. It's about good and bad. Hip Pop takes out the lyrical relevance of Hip Hop, and outs a dysfunctional form of music. Bieber, Soulja Boy etc.

  • @MikeTuinstra This isn't metal, but without it In Flames could not have made it completely kick ass, so therefore I respect it.

  • @DecimationResolve Metal comes in many forms, complete with guitars and keyboards, and is not the tuneless form of sound detractors attempt to sell it for. Styles may differ per song by speed and arrangement. Some songs are Rock, some are Metal. Whitesnake, Dokken, Quiet Riot, Motley Crue, Ratt, Cinderella, etcetera are different bands to Treat, Europe and Glory. Whatever you choose to call it, it can't be accurately denied good music.

  • @MikeTuinstra Didn't say it was bad, but it definitely does not come into the Metal genre.

  • @DecimationResolve This song in particular has a slower arrangement, which is why it gets called Pop Rock/AOR. A song like Europe's On The Loose differs again, as it's faster in speed and arrangement. That song would be classified as Heavy Metal.

In Flames is Death Metal, which is also merely a subgenre of Heavy Metal. Pure Heavy Metal differs a great deal from that sound.

  • i will never get tired of this music this band

and yeah this look is like a chik magnet

  • Death Metal is actually very unlike evil and doesn't capture the bad guy image. They use all that to make it sell. Truth is most of these bands look like weirdos making appalling music by the general standard, where Treat are musicians mastering melodic Rock with a cool, appealing image.

The bad guy image is often charming and intelligent, while playing socio-politics with evil to make its statement.

  • For me it's just about what I feel. I don't care about time or style. But Treat is definitely a great Band and they still rock. I agree the in flames version sounds like "I want to be a bad guy"-version played by some kids - for me it sound somehow boring. The energy of the original version is gone there.

  • the inflames cover is horrible!

  • Finally Death Metal isn't harder either. It just repeats too many of the same sounds. Keyboards are R N R too. I like my Hard Rock/Heavy Metal all around great. The way it's supposed to be.

    =================Glam FTW!===================

  • epic glam metal ftw ! :D

  • In Flames would better not have touched this one.Apart from being holy ground for a lot of us it contains feelings and innocence-faith in fighting for a better world.Sorry but In Flames apart from sounding out place and rhythm they really ain't got a clue what the song stands for-soulless amateurs really...

  • The image is the classic Hard Rock image in style. No makeup, no dirtbag look. It's the middle way of Hard Rockers looking like what a general audience associates with cool. These bands attract and feature women as no other.

  • @MikeTuinstra

    it was Glam metal,

  • This is Rock/Hard Rock/Heavy Metal music in its true, original form. It includes the melodic art of Pop , short for popular, being the general consensus of good music. Therefore it's also referred to as Pop Metal. Death Metal could never touch it. Tags are useless. Take it away and you have repulsive growling in front of often unflattering, monotonous sound vs. actual vocal skill fronting melodic Hard Rock/Heavy Metal music. There are different incarnations, but that's my critic for the genre.

  • @EricAxel36 Like it says: not all, but a lot of what I heard. And I've heard them all. Just so I know what I'm talking about.

The point is Pop Metal being melodic art. Death Metal could never capture that attractiveness, as it focuses too much on repulsive sounds that are often easy to fabricate. The mainstream sucks now, but it was different 20 years ago. You can't compare it.

  • @EricAxel36 Read my posts, stop twisting words and addressing the obvious. It said from the get Death Metal has different incarnations that possess certain musical art forms. Melodic Death Metal has an art in melody. But it doesn't live up to the melodic mainstream, it still contains too much elements of generally considered repulsive, unimpressing sound. The vocals alone make the difference already.

You're the troll on the wrong video. If you don't like it; just say your piece and move on.

  • @EricAxel36 Pot meets kettle. Let's not forget that it's the In Flames/Death Metal fans that keep complaining here. They try to take away from our music first of all. No respect for the original. I'm just answering it.

To me Treat/the original is clearly superior. In Flames/Death Metal is too flawed to be better. You may favor In Flames personally, but Treat has the better sound, according to what a majority understands as good.

  • @MikeTuinstra

what majority understands as good?... i guess the Jonas Brothers are the best band in the world in that case

  • @EricAxel36 You came up with something again? Weren't you leaving? At least that's what you said. Well, I'll be more than happy to go on with this pal. =)

Jonas Brothers - not a chance. Industry promoted plastic. Bubblegum Teen Pop. Just because they got promo it doesn't mean they also sell. When Pop Metal ruled, that's when music sold its highest amounts. That is the majority. Crap gets promo, that's why it doesn't sell.

Death Metal won't do any better though. It's not attractive enough.

  • @MikeTuinstra Death Metal sells because it has a loyal audience. A real Death Metal fan has every Death Metal record in his collection. Hip hop fans don't buy records to the same extent. I think Death Metal can be more profitable in the long run because of this loyalty. Think of Led Zeppelin. They never released a single, because they didn't want to sell out. Yet, their music still sells. The music industry is too focused on short term profit. Who buys Britney Spears today? Lady Gaga tomorrow?

  • @fbendz Your Soo wrong man really you that dumb. All kinds of music have a loyal fan base. The Music industry is focused on making money DUDE!! They push the most popular music at the time when its most popular. And as far as Led Zeppelin not ever releasing a single YOU WRONG !! I own 2.

Short term profit my ass Britney Spears has been selling out sence 1999

last year she made 64 million DUMB ASS. And she didnt even do a whole tour.

Know what your talking about before SAY A WORD!!

  • @MikeTuinstra you're completely wrong and ignorant about death metal. fyi. sounds like all you've ever heard is Six Feet Under. If you haven't had a decent amount of exposure to a genre of music..or anything at all, don't go critiquing it like you're some kind of music guru. you're not.

  • @MikeTuinstra I'll add... this is one of the few songs where the cover is better than the original, hands down. In flames' version has energy and pizzaz..this is just sad and corny.

  • @thedrip

Sonata Arctica's covers are awsome ^^ (I want out (Helloween), Die with yours boots on (Iron Maiden) etc)

  • @SCCH28 Yehhh >_< Wind beneath my wings cover was a laugh too! Sonata Arctica are a GREAT band ^.^

  • saw them last sunday, amazing!

  • I'm pretty sure, that I'm gay and I also love Treat because of their music. I saw them last week live in Germany and they were awesome. It's all about music not about people who waste their time in stupid discussions.

  • @enuxs i agree totaly.Its the music that counts

    Treat rules

  • 0:29 blue hair???

  • I love the prechorus XD

  • Hair metal rules.

    New album out anytime!!

  • how could a video of a sexy half naked girl be gay(even if its from the 80s)?

  • Check out PASSION LANE!

  • What a fuckin jam.

  • TREAT RULES !!!

  • its normal melodic rock, has nothin to do with being gay.

it seems you like hard music, its you right.!!

I love treat, and im pretty sure im not gay

  • its always easy to cover songs,no idendity no soul.take the music and lyrics and and sing like you wanna die, thats all.

if i hear Melodic death metal, what a joke.like meldocic trash metal lol

everybody can listen his music, and taste is different. But please dont think in flames song is better, because its only stolen.the worse thing is most of their fans, dont even know its stolen, really poor sry

Cant wait for the new Treat cd melodic rockmusic will live forever

    A BIG TREAT FAN

  • @SuperTimebandit. You can't say it's "stolen" if it's a cover, since it's just performed in a different way by other band. That is just their opinion how it should be played. Besides I CAN say that In Flames's version is better, like you said, everyone's taste of music is different. Don't get me wrong, this original version is, in fact, rather good, but in my opinion In Flames made it more energetic, therefore, much better.

  • @kanarialintu no problem for me,maybe not stolen, but create a song its much more work, then performing a song in a different way.

The words and the melody thats the hard part, its ok for me you like in flames.

But only performing a song in a different way,its much easier!! Thats the Fact, and i dont like the way the singer sounds!!!

    Not more not less

    Rock on!!

  • @Blackfall234 its ur kind of music, and i respect that u are thinkin that way.

But for me it sounds like trash sry

  • @Blackfall234 lol your taste your style, its ignorant to think all people must think that way.

i like clear voices and good melodies, that all!!

Nobody sings normaly like this guy from in flames.

finally let me say read post from Mike Tuinstra hes right

  • @Blackfall234 what makes In Flames Musicians better?I think if you must live from ur music u have such a level that they are all pros.

there are musicians who play instruments they are so much harder to learn, than Guitar or Drums or Bass,or Keyboard, but they play kind of music i dont like, that means not they cant play.

Maybe In Flames are good Musicians, but they play Music that gives me absolutly nothin. And that Kind of singer sounds extremly terrible to me.

    But only for my taste.

  • @Blackfall234 said it be4 its your own taste, others think different. And if they play with 100 guitars,i dont like it.

What makes a song good,at the end its always the melody, thats all that counts for me.

And i dont like that kind of singing u think he sits on the toilet sry

  • @Blackfall234 Reading all of your posts now I conclude you are either an obsessed fanatic, or an attention seeking shill. Constantly stating faulty nonsense in favor of one band in particular. You're far from objective. At the end of the day it's these songs in the all time best of charts by people's choice. There is a reason why. Your sound doesn't sell.

  • @Blackfall234 Hypocrisy. It's all you ever do on here.

  • @Blackfall234 Hard Rock/Heavy Metal music by its original definition has been underground for nearly 2 decades. Bad Hip Pop is what's on the charts. So it's hardly mainstream by its current crap definition. Your supposed understanding of the word.

It is however mainstream by people's choice. The Hip Pop sold now isn't. It's what unmusical frauds sell to make a quick buck. That's why the economy suffers and folds. It doesn't sell.

  • In the time of Treat Hard Rock/Rock was the commercial music.

Back in time Hip Hop was good.

Just today hip hop and pop are mainstream. ( ok they were always mainstream )

If you think Iron Maiden or Metallica were underground then youre wrong.

In that time Metal was the music that every teens listened to

  • @Blackfall234 Bands like Iron Maiden are Pop, popular Metal as well. Mainstream. Metallica to a certain extent too. They make use of that aspect just like all the rest of them. The difference is that each band has their own sound.

The RIAA tried to separate; associate Heavy Metal with unflattering, monotonous sound and shouting, to reduce its audience for a devoid Hip Pop industry. A sound that doesn't require musical artistry. Hip Hop's art is lyrical first of all. For that it was good.

  • @Blackfall234 Melodic Rock is one of the most complex genres around. Not just anyone can perform it. Each musician is required to possess actual skill to craft a quality tune like that. It's factually a lot harder than just banging your instruments and shouting over it.

Music is about art of sound. Treat masters it and In Flames pales in comparison there. You can like In Flames, just don't sell them for better. You'll be proven wrong so fast it'll make your head spin. 8)

  • @MikeTuinstra

just banging your instruments and shouting over it?

are you referring to that being what death metal is?

  • @MikeTuinstra

just banging your instruments and shouting over it?

are you referring to that being what death metal is?

  • @MikeTuinstra

just banging your instruments and shouting over it?

are you referring to that being what death metal is?

  • @MikeTuinstra

just banging your instruments and shouting over it?

are you referring to that being what death metal is?

  • in flames cover of this song is fucking horrible.

    This song is great!

  • your mom! -.-

  • If i hear this one, i have to say that the one from In Flames is a bad cover.... ;x

  • There's no competition with In Flames to me. Treat actually sings a great tune. In Flames seems somewhat sped up, I like the music on their version, but the original blend of melodic Hard Rock guitar and synth beat all for me. The growl is funny from time to time, but this is the real deal to me.

The gay tag is merely 00's Pop Rap industry bogus. It's about taking the Pop aspect away from Rock. An attempt to make good music uncool and sell junk for gold. Not wanted. Rockers unite. IMO.

  • @MikeTuinstra what? make good music uncool?

  • That's right, a scam from those lacking the skills to produce a good tune. That's quite obviously been going on all throughout the past decade to me.

  • But In Flames are not lacking skills. They are actually really good.

Or they used to be atleast.

  • To each their own. IMO this music obviously gets the better of In Flames. I'm not saying In Flames can't play, but they lack the essence of a generally considered good tune. And I'd say it's obvious why.

However: it first of all regards the Hip Hop Pop, Hip Pop the industry has been selling. Obsolete mixture, junk created by those unable to deliver. They are the people setting up a few definitions to get rid of competition. They are the ones who benefit from it. That's why music doesn't sell.

  • I guess you're just not a Metal person. In Flames is one of the pioneers of classic Melodic Death Metal as I reckon.

Yeah, the Hip-Pop-Rap stuff they have on the radio today is balls.

  • No, I like Heavy Metal. But Death Metal isn't my favorite genre. It's cool and all for one offs, and I certainly haven't got as much problems with it as the Hip Pop bogus, but I can see why that stuff doesn't do big things.

I much favor this sound here myself as well. Rock/Hard Rock/Heavy Metal in Pop = popular approach = mass appeal. The craftsmanship creating a pleasant, impressive sound against the listening ear. It's what I call the art of music.

  • in flames cover suxx u know if u dont like the original suck some cock u moron... this is a good heavy metal band... they can sing really good in flames its cool but the cover suxx..

  • I listened to this after hearing In Flames' cover. Not bad at all. Love the chorus.

  • Who cares about who decided it, In Flames version is soooo great, that now I even like the original one!! :D

  • Fag?

    Crap?

    Why?

    Because there's no grawl?

    :/

  • Really good song.

  • Traet are a fantastic Band, who cares about In flames, always worth a laugh.

I fly in October to England to see them live again, and i cant wait for the new Cd,coming up this Year.

    Classic Rock will never die

  • the lead singer reminds me of Dave Mustaine lol

  • IN FLAMES WE TRUST !!

    PORTUGAL

  • In Flames owns this song...

  • I wouldn't say so this song is from the 80s, Flames was founded 1990......

  • For all the guys here who are stuck in classic rock ruts MODERN MUSIC DOES NOT SUCK modern mainstream music sucks you guys just haven't looked hard enough bands like Opeth, Dream Theater, Porcupine Tree are keeping music alive there's nothing wrong with classic rock i love of but come on people get your heads out of your asses

  • Awesome song.

  • How can a boy or girl say that like music? Simple Plan? Fall Out Boys? FUCK TRASH. THIS IS MUSIC. GOD BLESS THE 80's

  • This was music, this WAS rock not the shit that we listen to now a days! In flames made this song better? Yeah even the donkey is able to fly!!!!!!

  • you're right... this was music. AT THE SAME TIME as metallica and megadeth. And 10-15 years after groups like aerosmith, black sabbath and ozzy ozbourne. who never in a million years could sound as gay as treat. I mean even elo was before treat and kick their ass!

  • as much as I don't like covers... in flames made this song sound better. this version is just a little too glam for me

  • Yes!

  • Great Song ! Great Video !

  • I think people forget that In Flames liked this song enough to do a cover of it
