Have you found that people speak English or do you have to find words in Japanese to communicate? It was strange to see the MacDonalds in the midst of such a contrasting culture. Also, it seemed strange to see the open park space with the notion that things are so congested in Tokyo. Interesting. :)

Thanks Dave and good ;points. The contrasts fascinate me particularly the large open space. I find English not widely spoken though you can get by with basics. My travelling companion though speaks fluent Japanese which is very handy :)
