good job learning it by ear ! that will help you with your own interpretation of song's and solo's which will help build your own style, god know's i played alot of stuff thinking it was right only to find out it wasn't!! but nothing is really right or wrong like ed said " how you gonna learn anything new if you follow that dusty old book" keep on cranking it out and never be deterred by anyone's opinion, peace!

that's a very fluid solo each note is very articulate you missed several and your timing was a little off, you should listen to more night ranger if not for the song's then most certainly for the solo's, not bad really just need's some work.
