  • the weapons bay dor opens verrrrrrrrrrrry slowly! not like the f22

  • @Baseshocks yeah I read about that on wikipedia. It was a carbon impregnated plywood either purposely built for stealth or becuase of Germany's metal shortage at the time.

  • Take an already great plane and make it even better. That makes too much sence. our govenment will never go for it. :(

  • The link works at this youtube video!

CNN Phoenix Sandstorm UFOs... Slightly Closer Look - HD

  • Sorry not airplanes!

    cnn.com/2011/US/07/06/arizona.dust.storm/

  • There is 1.7 trillion in unaccounted funds every year in the United States to put that in perspective out total military budget is 600 billion every year so you get an idea how much they spend on black projects! That means what we have behind closed doors is twice as big as all our resources you see world wide and that says something! So where is it and what does it look like? Winks!

I think it lives outside the atmosphere! :)))

  • To B honest the F117 was a front to fund other programs an F117 only cost a fraction of what they charged as to divert those funds to credible black projects!!

  • @Direwolf56 What's the big deal about stealth, It's not really? Stealth program is a joke, low frequency radar can see it like it was a 747 is how those F117 were shot down and the F117 was pulled out of service so they don't lose any more face! Lockheed knew this from the beginning but still took out money anyway! Lockheed is one of our resources so they put us at risk two fold they put themselves off line for credible builds and used our money for the same!

  • @theantiredneck No low frequency radars are not used in SAM systems, we lost that F117 Due to a very smart serbian SAM operator, and the dumb pilots who flew the same flight paths for weeks! thats a fact, but still the serbs get credit for shooting it down, no doubt about that.

  • @Mrpopoy83 I don't think stealth technology was invented by Russians. If it were they would have had it on their jets a long time ago. We've had the f117 since the 80s. I'm not a Russian hater either. Sukhoi is my favorite fighter jet series.

  • @Direwolf56 The Germans were the first to use stealth, they had light bomber/fighters built and used near the end of ww2, only a few. But they had plans to build large bombers like the B2 to carry nukes when they were ready. It's kind of scary if Germany had a few more years, no one would have been able to stop them. I just looked it up, the fighter was called "Horten Ho 229" and the bomber "Horten H.XVIII". kind of looks like the B2 :D.

  • We should completely scrap the JSF A and C versions and get this for the Air Force, then make a navalized variant.

THIS is what we should be looking at. Boeing can beat Lockheed, I know it. We have been very successful with the F/A-18 upgrades and I think they can do it again! Keep the F-35B for the Marines, but only produce a few F-35Cs for a total stealth version for the Navy. The Carrier Air Wing for 2020 should be F/A-18 Super Hornets, F-35Cs, and F-15SSE (Sea Silent Eagle).

  • Why is there always some dick comparing american and russian equipment. just enjoy that video and shut the F&^% up

  • I'm curious: how come the US won't allow the F-22 to be sold for export, yet the F-15 was available, and at the time the F-15 was advanced technology? What's the difference between then and now? Does the Cold War have anything to do with it?

  • @Amar7605 Israel, Japan, and Saudi Arabia... All were considered vital to US interests.

  • @NoOne3234 And their vital to US interests today. What's the difference between then and now?

  • @Amar7605 They don't really need them now. When was the last time Israel fought a major war against an enemy with comparable equipment? When will Japan ever fight a war without the full backing of the US (besides, Japan would need something with longer range)?

If you really want to complain about arm sales restrictions, the US decision not to sell Taiwan f-16 block 52+s would leave them facing the Chinese air force with SAMs, early model f-16s, and a few mirage 2000s.

  • @NoOne3234 Hey, I agree completely. While it is nice that the F-35 is available for sale, I would think that selling the F-22 would make sense because it would help continue the production line here in the US. Here we are complaining about the lack of jobs, then we shoot ourselves in the foot by doing things like ending F-22 production.

Although, in the Taiwan example, how pissed do you think China would be if they had F-22s?

  • @Amar7605 China would be pissed, but the F-22 wouldn't do too much for Taiwan. In an invasion, China would likely perform effective offensive counter air operations against the very small number of Airfields used by Taiwan. A plane isn't good if it is destroyed on the ground or if it doesn't have the proper infrastructure to operate. Taiwan needs a plane that can fly off of roads w/ little infrastructure, fire an anti shipping missile, and still possesses modern avionics & AA capabilities.

  • The proper plane for the Taiwanese would be the JAS 39, which is designed for that scenario. Barring that, the relatively cheap and versatile f-16 block 52+ would be a decent choice.

  • (note: f-16 block 52s satisfy 2/3 of those criteria)

  • @NoOne3234 That's true; in the future then the F-35B would be the best choice. I wonder why mainland China never tried to conquer Taiwan all this time?

  • @Amar7605 There are good economic and political reasons for maintaining the status quo. Also, 15 years ago, the US would have sent a fleet to deter an invasion with few worries.

  • 2 pilots !!!!

  • this plane is much cheaper and it will cost 100 million

  • what a peace of shit

  • With only 188 F-22 servicing in the airforce, I would not even call it any kind of fighter program. It might as well be 20. Gates has ruined the US airforce and put it in its less competitive state since the late 30s. LIke the 1939 P-39 the F-35 is an overweight disappointment.

  • Talk all the crap you want. But you can't dispute the fact that these airframes have been kicking ass for nearly 50 years and will continue to do so beyond that.

  • Inovative design.. Proven airframe.. lets se how it handels in Red Flag in the future..

  • export version and cheaper version of the F-22 lol

  • this thing looks sweet the internal weapons bay looks awesome i'm no expert but this fighter looks like it has a promising future

  • F-15SE fighter of the future for export market. Its RWR early warning system, its AESA radar, its Sniper pod, its weapons payload, its performance, its combat radius are all combat proven. F-15SE is rebuilt version so it should have greater maneuverability. F-15SE vs Su-35BM, F-15SE wins even though it is weaker in dogfight, its AIM-9X will solve the problem or just add on Thrust Vector Control from F-15S/MTD's engines.

  • BTW - this is similar to what the PAK FA is probably...old technology repackaged in a new suit. Russian defense officials were claiming they should have spent money on developing modern dcommunications & GPS hardware - so that means likely none of this is in the PAK FA. No thrust vectoring, intakes directly in front of engines...what exactly is "advanced" about the PAK FA again?

  • lol, the fact that its a prototype and not funded by the russians alone. everyone is doging a plane they know little about. if anything i should ask you whats "Advanced" about the raptor? when we have plane that could do its gob twice as good

  • Sukoi is more than capable of building fantastic hardware. The PAKFA paraded on TV seems like just that - a parade float. I would speculate that it was the military and NOT Sukhoi who wanted to go public with it.

Not much detail about the plane has been released, but if you read between the lines - like what I said about comments about "wasted funds" made by other Russian defense officials, you can get pretty good idea of what's probably going on. Not all media included these comments, btw

  • @TxGearhead Fyi stealth technology is invented by russians..im not an american hater but the T-90 will be up there with the f22 raptop forsure no question about that.......i love lovee f15e

  • I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks. There are 'more advanced' fighters out there...but NONE have the F-15's ACTUAL COMBAT record: 104 - 0. It takes more than the latest toys to have an effective Air Force.

  • if you want to count the Tomcat, then the tomcat far out does the eagles kill streak. with 130-0. most of those during the iran iraq war. Just like the eagle was made famous by the isrealis, not the US

  • Awesome. This vid is about the F-15, I was disputing people calling it inferior hardware. Outdated, maybe...but fulfilled its purposed in either US hands or allies, definitely.

The Isrealis, Pakistanis, et. al being our 'proxy combat testers' is no secret...although the Sabre got a bum rap vs. India via Pakistan.

  • best SU-37

  • which does not exist anymore

  • What are the optical diffrences between F-15C and F-15E?

  • "Boeing estimates the F-15SEs cost, including airframe, spares and training, at $100 million each."

That's a fairly ridiculous amount of money for an airframe design that's 37 years old. The US wouldn't even look at it. For that kind of money, I think you can find something that brings a lot more to the table.

  • @rtrThanos 100 million for what you stated and new electronics, internal weapons bay, it now uses RAM. Plus it isn't the same airplane, the model has been tweeked for it to be more aerodynamic.

  • On the out side it looks just like a strike eagle but instead of more fuel tank it house missels

  • It's like it's saying, "See everyone, I can be an F-22, too! Please don't cancel me!"

  • Yes, I'll become F-22 for export market customers. Most Export market buyers are not allowed to buy US too advanced weapons, only could go for F-15, F-16 & F/A-18 with extensive makeover. That's why these getting old fighters must be revived. Else US will lose arms sales business as it could not sell F-22 & F-35 to outsiders

  • Well the F-35 is designed to be exported. Even India is being offered it provided it choses the F-16 IN in the MRCA competition.

  • Things might change at the very last minute. US might find it not wise to import the F-35 as it contains lots of classifieds materials. UK might or might not get it. The rest of EU might be barred from owning F-35. Though Russians from Yakovlev made the VSTOL engines, they won't get anything other than their nice cash reward. Yes, the non-stealth existing fighters that are heavily modified available for export market. India is not US enemy so they get the offer.

  • The US is not going to block F-35 exports because there are several partner nations that helped designed and bankrolled the jet and selling the jet to other nations will help pay for the development costs.

    It's all a buseiness, too.

  • US might reluctant to sell F-35 even to British at the very last minute. Why share advanced tech with others as if only US owned stealth tech, it'll make it superior and remain as #1 airpower. Might just offer superior heavily modified F-15SE, F-16E/F, F/A-18E/F with new engines and extra thrust vector additional upgrade. These heavily modified fighters could take down EU's #1 fighter the EF-2000. With added thrust vector package in future, it could easily outturn EF-2000.

  • Blocking of sales will not happen bvecause there are too many treaties and agreements in place. Read some background information on the F-35. I suggest starting with Wikipedia. One of the reasons that the F-35 was created was to be exported to other nations. With the blocking of F-22 sales by Congress, exporting the F-35 is more than important than ever for Lockeed Martin.

Why are you automatically thinking that the US is untrustworthy? I hate these ridiculous assumptions. STOP IT NOW!!!!

  • If F-35 is more than just low RCS fighter, selling it to EU means US is making stealth technology public. Good thing is there'll be further development, good contribution to technology. Not about untrustworthy. It's about allowing others to gain the technology as well.

  • Last I heard the UK was concerned over having too much dependence on the US for maintaining their F-35s (since the US holds the keys to the technology involved, and is unwilling to share the 'source code', so to speak).

    Just hearsay though.

  • Yes, the latest news I got was, US planned to scrap the F-35B removing BAe & British involvement entirely so that US can choose to not sell the F-35 to any other nation. They plan to remake the F-35 V/STOL F136 engine with Russian scientists, the actual inventor of that type of lift engine as in YAK-141. Hope that happen.

  • Yak did not invent the F-35 lift system. Lockheed consulted with them over the swiveling main nozzle I believe, but the shaft driven lift fan is a new (and safer) development.

  • That was admitted by Lockheed Martin that they hired engineers from YAK to develop the V/STOL system together with BAe. Even the Russians said so. With so many parties involved, the new V/STOL is closer to perfect than any existing V/STOL engines.

  • Hmm. I think (but can't remember) in Code One (Lockheed's magazine) they said they consulted with Yakolev (and other sources say bought design data, but no mention of engineers). But who knows who's telling the whole truth.

Anyway, the Yak-141 lift system and the F-35's lift system are quite different. The -35 uses a shaft driven lift fan, the -41 used two turbojets (RD-41) in addition to the main engine for vertical lift.

I'm pretty sure the F-35 lift system was developed by Rolls-Royce.

  • Definitely the F-35 lift fan would be different and way more perfect as it was designed by brains from US, Russia & UK. The F-136 lift engine was registered & built under Royce-Royce as manufacturer. There was short time given for d competition & Lockheed Martin wanted safe so they went for Rolls Royce & Bae to help develop the lift engine instead of going solo with Russians. Else, the lift engine will be under General Electric or Pratt & Whitney making it the 1st US made lift engine.

  • Nobody want's to buy those overrated and ultra expensive fryin pans. There flying characteristics are nearly the same as a F-4. Take a little of their stealth aside (which will happen for them to be allowed for export) and all they become is a fat plane . A nice slow target in the air. The later versions of the Su-35BM with L-band AESA radar will easily blow even american F-35 to rubble. The only thing USAF can do is farther upgrade it's Raptor. The true fear is the PAK FA however.

  • F-15SE only loses out in manueverability. With its stealth panel, it has low RCS. Russian AESA/PESA radar capability is not tested against real low RCS fighter as Russia doesn't have stealth nor low RCS aircraft. AN/APG-63(v4) AESA large radar is tested & proven good with long search/track range 200/160Nm. Several Mig-29S can't even launch its R-27R & R73 ended being splashed by F-15s. In ground attack role, F-15SE is superb as it could carry 12 lightweight, slow but capable AGM-65D/G vs Kh-29

  • Just the F-35A alone has several variants and some going for revamped competing each other. Some fitted with TVC. You are jumping to conclusion that the F-35 is pigeon using F-35B as example. The specs stated in Wiki & that Aussie's website are not final as they have not completed the research on the few F-35A prototype. Even F-35B & F-35C came up with several variants each. F-35A & F-35C are the actual air superiority fighter whereas F-35B will most likely hold the role of attack aircraft.

  • Tell me can a country like Greece really allowed to buy PAK-FA? Don't think so. Even Russia is quite reluctant to build the PAK-FA despite funding from India as Russia wanted to keep stealth technology for itself just like US rather than letting it fall to outsiders. Russia already restricting number of sales of its Su-30MK series to China as they don't want to be copied. In future, all US existing F-15, F-16 & F-18 will receive total makeover with advanced capability for export market >with TVC

  • @ANimouz Yeah... so far the PAK-FA is just a bunch of media reports and press releases. For a plane that was supposed to fly years ago, and there are still no photos, or even drawings of it... for a public program, there is a whole lot of nothing being produced. If it ever flies, it will be another cheap Russian copy of a western fighter. They would be better off buying some J-10Bs from China.

  • I would have to reply on this comment now that all the PAK FA haters really got their mouth staffed with shit. Go see the PAK FA now , it's nothing like any other fifth generation airplane outthere . It's closer looks like a Su-35S than anything else.. well F-22 looks like F-15 in a way too.

  • *insert sarcasm* Because were tawts who believe every thing we hear. *sarcasm withdrawn*

Now this may sound ego-centric, we American have the easy life, except in resent years. But it people from other nations that are in a situation where they can't leave, and are jealous of that other county and they direct that angry toward that country, and it's people. instead of putting that raw emotion into motivation to better their self and ones country.

  • has anyone seen patlabor II this thing looks like the f-15 kai in that film throw some thrust vectoring engines and some canards like the f-15 active and youve got a beater

  • Yeah, should make it F-15SE-SMTD as well for premium package. I'll love the F-15SE with thrust vector more than EF-2000 & Rafale. That'll make me difficult to choose between F-15SE, SU-37 and MIG-35 if I owned a country. Very nice to have them and show off to neighbours.

  • Sensacionaisse!

  • F-15 Eagle - A flying legend!

  • i agree. hey Boeing people just put a THRUST VECTORING engine on this bird, i`m sure it will still rule the skies

  • Go Eagle! go Eagle! Eagle the Legend continues with heavy makeover. WoooHooo... Add thrust vector and front carnard, it'll beat EF-2000 to its knees.

  • message to chinese fans,u.s.a can achieve air n naval superiority in a war wit its advance n largest air force n navy in world, china invasion fleets will be swimming wit sharks in the pacific off japan, yank on other hand can invade china from japan or afghanistan coz they av military bases there, last i heard china dont av bases near u.s,china is a big low tech arm forces thats capable of only defensive operations, yanks will raped it like what japs did in ww2..

  • USA cant even beat the Taliban....you chumps...

  • yeah cant beat taliban, lol, last i heard, taliban werent in power in afghanistan, they were ousted from power n yanks n allies establish karzai n a western friendly govt, yeah they keep dieing, well not from gunbattles matey, most coalition deaths are from i.e.d n suicide bombings,so man on man gunbattles taliban run back to pakistan border, only chance they av is i.e.d n suicide bombings, thats the only way to kill a well train n well equip western soldier buddy..

  • do you know what your talking about?

  • Yep.....you guy's got everything...blah,blah...you got nothing...the Indian's flogged you at Red Flag in Su27's...the Russian's would have you guy's for breakfast.....the Chinese aren't far behind..the USA is over..your stupid war sent your country broke...I've been there you guy's need to pick up all the rubbish, get those homeless off the street's...what a mess...

  • Killing all of the taliban would be like killing rats in an infested house. You can kill a lot of them but they just keep hiding in holes and breeding. Only way to kill them all would be a genocide and thats kind of against "the rules".

  • 這是真的還是動畫?

  • Just when you thought the F-15 couldnt get any more lethal

  • but now since anti awacsm issles are in development - namly the r 172 , its quite certain the west works on similar concepts. im very interested in such things. same with the airborne lase the us works on. very interesting - they work over quite some distance ans they stabilze against atmospheric distortions. wow! im excited to see whats next.

  • Anti-AWACS?

AWACS is a plane that tracks 100's of fighters from over 100's of miles away. Awacs never even flys in theatre of operations. Never fly unescorted either. It is very unlikely that an enemy aircraft would even know where to look for an AWACS let alone engage one.

  • TOP TEN FIGHTER AIRCRAFT 1. F-15Strike Eagle/Silent Eagle 2. F/A 22 Raptor 3. P-51 Mustang 4. SU 37 Terminator 5. Rafale M 6. Eurofighter Typhoon 7. F/A 18 Super Hornet 8. F-16 Fighting Falcon 9. SU 47 Berkut 10. Mig 29 Fulcrum
  • No offense but everything else is secondary to the f-22.

  • for a brief moment. i love the look of the raptor and for sure its top notch. its a pity the overall stealth concept is quite flawed. without awacs they have to go active radar wich makes them lose their advantage and anti awacs missles are THE technology all high end militarys go for. infrared and optic trackig will soon become the primary sensors and radar will be secondary. for the moment the raptor is the best in air to air. the real disadvantage the usaf has are bad missles.

  • Well. THe f-22 uses an AN/APG-77 AESA radar, wich changes its frequency 1000'sx a mill-sec. This making it ALMOST undetectable. PESa radars commonly used on planes such as the Migs and Flankers, can not match the frequency bandwidth, nor the change rate of AESA radar. IR traking is not a beneficial as the russian lead to be, the range is poor at around 10-15 miles. By then the target would have lng been eliminated.

  • ir has limitations of cause - but optical and ir systems can reach farther than that depending on weather of cause.

its a part in a big puzzle. radar evolves too of cause. but youre right its a question of time anyway. problem is the emmisions are still their. you cant track them accuratly but getting an antiemissionmissile on the way that switches to optical or ir or laser detection on the last kilometers is something to worry about. us and russia work on that. well see :)

  • ErhardvanGrund :

On the Su-35, The OLS-35 electro-optical search-and-track system is capable to range aerial target up to 20 km (12.5 miles) and ground targets at 30km (18 miles) with a precision of five meters. Thats under OPTIMAL conditions.

  • What many don;t know is the f-22 uses for-ARCS systems as well. Active Radar Cancellation. This allows the f-22 to get very close WVR (within visual range) of a plane, and the plane still can;t lock onto the F-22. I also sujjest you read about the ACL (airborne combat laser). That in trials right now, and will be fitted to the f-22/35 in 2012. This will make missles virtually obsolete.

  • airborne lasers? hm - sounds interesting - can ou give me a link pleas id like to read about it. i think that can work pretty well , at least in fair weather. yeah technology evolves. measure and countermassure - its fun to watch though :)

  • Well Here are some videos of the tatical one that can shoot down ballistic missles.

    watch?v=6w-ql8msl0U

And here is a link with the protoype being tested on a c-130:

    ht tp : / / defense-update . com / newscast/0808/130808atl . ht ml

  • This vid is about MTHEL (Mobile Tactical High Energy Laser). It is currently being used in Afganistan

    watch?v=LThD0FMvTFU

  • thanx alot for the links :)

another nice site is airpower australia - but you probably know this site. they also have lots of recources especially missles and aircraft analyses. and they have a large collection of sources too. not about lasers but about radar and other tracking technologies as well. worth a look :)

  • @F22Ownage f22 - Over hyped, unproven, overpriced junk.

What escorts Air Force 1? F-15C's.

  • @F22Ownage and then you wake up...See? it was just a dream...

  • P-51 falls out of that because its a world war 2 fighter. its fame is from its many kills and so on in ww2. the raptor has jet to shoot down a single plane. the raptor is a marvelous aircraft for sure - but its advantage will degrades very fast. however- the berkut is sure a good plane but its a demonstrator like the su 37 - they dont count. the best flanker at the moment is the 35 and the 30mki .mig 35 is good. superhornet and falcon arent top notch anymore - and rafale is not on level with ef

  • F-22 hasnt shot down anything, because its never been challeneged. However, read up on the red flag excersises. 2 f-22's had a 241:1 kill ratio against f-15/16/18's.

THe f-22 is said to also have a 15:1 kill ratio against the new russia Su-30bm.

Its advantage will degrade over time like all weapons, however that won;t be for another 15-20 years atleast. By that time the UCAV's will rule the sky...

  • raf ef typhoons was able to beat the raptor in simulated wvr combat on equal odds. and achieved radar lock bvr before missle range. thats when the raptor has no awacs to support. that is alarming.

the russians clam they can fight the raptor on equal terms with their sukhois, the amricans clam they can get 15:1 exchange rates. they all just claim. time will hopefulle not tell. 15 to 20 years - sure the raptor will be a good plane even then - but then it may face other stealth fighters

  • EF and F-22 have never faced one another in DACT. The AirPower article is nothing more than unsubstantiated rumor.

  • I have yet to find any credible information about incident at all. I have only found much of it to be gossip. What scource of information did you get this from?

Until anything is publically stated, quoting internet rumors holds little value.

  • i have a collection of aircraft and aviation magazines and books - most stuff is eastern block - i lived in east germany - so that was more available than western relatet sources. the concepts of laser sekers and multiseeker missles is pretty old - its just nobody built such missles before. antiradiation kissles for a2a are no new concept either - russia tries to figure that out for a long time while the west saw no necessity because of ground based tactics of the eastern block nations. :)

  • Well I can tell you exactly what happened. The Eurofighter DID visit China lake back in 2006. The same year that this supposed mock A2A engamement happened. This was later comfirmed to be flase. The reason why the EF was to train with US F-15/16's for electronic warfare. The EF and F-22 never fought agqainst each other.

  • Dude you know you are gonna break those european socialist hearts with that one lol.

Its sad that they have not come to realize that the EF Typhoon has the weight and thrust, that of an F-18C and carries missiles on the wings, with no thrust vectoring. It was designed to compete with F-18's in the 1980's yet the euro's keep swearing it can do what the F-22 can do lol.

Even countries like Japan, who are going to buy EF's stated that they wanted an F-22 but US laws ban such exports.

  • true, also the Eurofighter can't do any manuevers the F-22 can do anyway.

  • its also a false statement with no sources to back it up.

  • these are my favs, i guess i just accidentally put top ten fighters

  • this is just literally a watered down version of the f-22...im not saying anything bad cuz this is my favorite plane of all time

  • F-22, F-35 and F-15 my favorites

  • Look I think the Silent Eagle has much more capabilities than the F- 35, and just short of the Raptor. The Eagle family gets born again with Silent Eagles. But I think the F 15SE and F 22 and the F 35 are comparable. I would say F22, F15SE, and lastly F35

  • Fact: The F117 was kept a secret for quite some time.

Fact: US intelligence about WMD in Iraq was flawed.

This begs the question. Do we know what our adversaries really already have? Hitler was said to have remarked late in the war that had he known the Russians had so many tanks he wouldn't have invaded.

  • Do it only have to be developed paints that absorb all electromagnetic radiations only by painting it?

  • No, an aircraft has to be built for it. Look at F-117, B-2 stealth, F-22, and F-35. The way the aircraft is designed with all those angles break up the radar and make it difficult to see. Then you add in radar absorbing material, some jamming aircraft for support and you have an invisible fighter.

  • This thing better be silent, or I am not buying it for my brother as his graduation gift.

  • The reason because of the economic crisis it is partly Clinton s fault he was the one who 'exported' american factories to other nations such as China,India etc.IDK about you guys but i liked Bush s policies if it has been for him we would not have the F22 .I dont know why you guys dislike Bush and please reply to be in a civilized manner and spam me all you whant i dont care.

  • well i guess the new indian Sukhois are going to need targets to blow out of the sky in the coming world war , so yeah - build these SE F15's

  • yukikaze will pwn anything russia throws at it

  • May 17, 2009? Is this video from the future?

  • Something to be said for Pilot training and experience, but if newer fighter jets are slightly higher in performance in terms of avionics and some improved maneuverability, then why not upgrade our proven Eagle with some new stealth, improved rudders, and better radar, sensors. F15Cs still have a lot of life in them.

  • Anyways, let's stick to the topic here, the F15 is the most awesome air superiority fighter for the past 30 years. Current enemy designs like the SU 30 look better on paper with their moveable jet nozzles, but in actual Red Flag exercises between our Air Force F15s and Indian Air Force SU 30s, our guys beat them all the time. Just like our old F86s beat the faster and better armed Mig 15s of the North Koreans in the early 50s.

  • lol, what you just said has been disproven by nearly all major flight mags and aircraft analists. The officer didnt know what he was talking about cause he wasnt even IN red flag, just there observing. Try finding some actual facts instead of someguy saying what he think he knows when he doesnt. And about the mig15 vs sabre, it all cam down to the pilots. there were enemy aces from ww2 as well as us aces, but they russians were mainly there for instructing purposes. We had better pilots

  • Hey, PopJack1717, I agree with everything you say, including the fact that kirkmach32 is wrong on Obama. I am not white, nor black, so if I dislike Obama and his politics, I guess that makes me a "racist", yeah right....notice how Obama supporters always brand people like conservatives as "racists"...Weak arguments from them.

  • No I dont believe that all white people who disagree with Obama are racists but I can tell when they are trying to be.

  • A weak, sad attempt at keeping a product line going. Hardly worth the effort or the expense.

  • What are you talking about? I can tell u know nothing of what u just said. A stealthy F-15 with 5 generation avionics!!!, now thats somthing worth buying instead of those pvssy@ss F-35As that only carry like 2 bombs and 2 missile with out a gun with a price tag of a bagillion dollars. What a waste of money. And keeping the production line open would create more jobs for Americans which we need and supply our allies with a top notch 4.9 generation fighter for a cheaper price than the F-35 or 22.

  • Yeah, great. Nice theory. Right up to the point where you presume YOUR president is going to save defense industry jobs. He's not. He's a communist, a traitor, and a friend of our enemies. He's not going to throw money at defense projects. He's going to try and destroy the military. You're dreaming.

  • Ok here we go with the communist stuff. Do you even know what a communist is???? U must dont because if anything OBama isnt a 'communist' who wants to destroy our military. Why do the select few people say that. O u must still be mad that mccain lost to a 'black' man right? Well just to let your racist ass know, I research obama and watch his campaigns and stuff and I can assure you my friend, he ain't no 'communist'., your just the typical racist pig(no offense). will you grow up already?

  • I have to disagree.....Obama INCREASED military spending...AND, just passed a 90+Billion Supplemental Bill (4 billion - for black projects)....he makes a great republican!......dont worry buddy, we all should know the Military Ind Complex runs things, NOT the puppet Presidents - including BUSH, who started increasing defense spending, and Obama just increased it more......It's a great time to be a military fan!

  • Just to give actual facts, Did you know Obama inherited a worse economic crisis that is almost 4times worse then what FDR had to deal with. Yeah!! So if we have to reduce our military budget to help our economy revive, which probably won't take a few days, weeks or even a couple of years to be revived then its well worth the sacrifice.I rather have our military budget reduced 50% then our whole country go completely broke; then we won't be able to budget anything then.U get where um coming from?

  • Yeah, I get where you're coming from. You're a dumbass. Obama was a senator who voted for all the stupid moves that got us into this, he knew what he was doing, and now him saying he inherited anything is a lie. He knew what was coming. He is one of those responsible. They all planned these things. He didn't inherit anything.

    Moron.

  • Communist ideologic is a utopia-like civilization. Far better than democracy and republic. The USA helped the world to see communists as nazis or murderers. Their ideology was perfect, humans aren't . You are an example why. You shit-talk about communism without any idea what it's like. USSR was like a Nazi-communism. Don't worry though my american friend soon NWO comes for you to put chips on your ass so they can know what you do , when you do and how you do it. Live well.

  • Chile proximamente reemplazarà sus F-5E TIII, los candidatos son el F-15, el EF Typhoon y el Superhornet.

  • Looks like a cross between an F-15 and an F/A-18

  • What a great looking aircraft......mmm, JSF alternative from boeing. Thanks for the footage.

  • its not designed to compete with JSF... it can't....

  • Boeing stated it as an alternative. I don't state claims without facts (Unlike others on YouTube). Check Jane's Defence website for Boeings comments.

It is pitched as a semi-stealth (Just like JSF) multi-role aircraft, but cheaper than JSF. No assumtions can be made however as their is no set data on either aircraft.

  • maybe Alternative for other export partners like South Korea, but not for the primary partners of JSF, such as US, UK, Australia, or Israel.

the JSF is not Semi-Stealth, it is fully stealthy, built from ground up.

    This is not.

  • You are right it is not maketed to the US. Australia has not commited to the JSF, so this is aimed at Australia who could look for a cheaper aircraft. I am in the RAAF so I know this. All aircraft decisions ae pending the governments white paper.

Full stealth is wrong, JSF will relect on an S and X-Band radar signature, but wont be detected on the VHF band or L Band. Thus not full stealth.

  • 1. Australia has ordered the JSF if i recall, or atleast showed great interest in it, despite mis-informants like Karlo Kopp

    2. I've seen no article regarding S, and X-band radar signature of the JSF, infact, some articles even state it will be very low observable(AKA stealth), on X-band

  • No JSF purchase yet, waiting the defence white paper. Plus the RAAF needs to decide on buying 100 or 75 (as the cost of JSF is increasing)

Don't get me wrong, I want the JSF for the RAAF, I wish we were getting the VTOL model for the new AWD. What I will conclude from this is that there is alot of info and misinformation out there and I do welcome and take on your discussion.

  • No the F35 isnt built from the ground up to be stealth. If this is the case why is it 10times less stealty as the F22, when the F22 is bigger than the F35? The F35 sacrificed some of its stealth ability to include certain parts on/in it. Yes the F35 is stealthy, so is this planes but neither one was built up from the ground to be fully stealthy like the F-22 was.

  • "why is it 10times less stealty as the F22"

Because the F-35 has to encorporate many Ground Attack Equipment which breaks the stealth outline, as well as to reduce costs.

"when the F22 is bigger than the F35"

Size has almost NOTHING to do with RCS

F-35's airframe encorporates planform alignment, Jaggered edges, Stealthy Nose, etc. Things that F-15SE Can't use without drastically changing the Airframe.

  • Keep in mind, the F-35 is more stealthy than the F-117, despite being 10X less stealthy than the F-22.

Consider the fact that F-15C is roughly 10,000X Larger in RCS than the F-22, and 714X larger than the F-35.

The Eurofighter and Rafales are roughly 70-100X larger than the F-35 in terms of RCS

When I say Size has little to do with RCS, take this fact.

The F-22 is roughly on par with the B-2's RCS, while being 3-10X smaller in actual size.

  • Ok i see what you are saying but I really dont agree that the F35 is supposed to replace the F22 because it wasn't meant to be a air dominating fighter but was built as a attack plane with some ability to engage in air to air combat. And because mr.gates is so focused on the Iraq-afghanistan war, which doesn't require the use of the F22, he wants to cut the programs after we spent billions of dollars and decades to produce such a plane.

  • "I really dont agree that the F35 is supposed to replace the F22"

When have I ever stated that?

" A potential war with North Korea and China would outline the NEED of the F22"

F-15Cs, F-16 E/Fs, and F/A-18E/Fs will be more than suffice.

Chinese military capabilities is drastically overstated.

  • The North Korean conflict happening now should be proof enough of its(F22) continued production, because while we are cutting our military, china is DRAMATICALLY increasing their military. A potential war with North Korea and China would outline the NEED of the F22. I know a plane cant win a war alone but it will atleast guarantee our dominance in the skies which is vital to winning a war in the 21st century. We need to produce more because the few we have wont be enugh to handle a major war.

  • The Chinese...need to get to our shores first to win a war. As of 2009, a war against the US would be quickly won at sea and air, and later a ground invasion. Even if the US were to "lose" some fights in "China" we can withdraw and maintain our sovereignty at will. China is unable to gain control of the oceans and air and cannot invade the US. It just doesn't have the ability.

Look at the Korean War, China's war with Vietnam and India. They took heavy casualties in all 3 with poor tactics.

  • China wouldn't bother invading the US if it came to war, they'd just start throwing nukes around (which means no-one wins).

If they did fight (conventionally) I hope US would win though... And I reckon they would.

  • i know eh,this chinese like to say we can invade u.s.a,lol,wit what ennit, they dont av the navy or air force to conduct a large invasion, they dont know yanks navy n air force is largest n most advance in world, they like say we the largest army,LOL,yeah but yanks are far more advanc, better train n well equip, they also to say we can match the yanks tank force, yeah right, yanks av 4000 modern tanks, china only av 800 modern tanks, the other chinese tanks are junk, this chinese bastard just dreams alot.

  • no wonder the f-15's nickname is the flying tennis court

  • The f-35 is more or just as stealthy as the f-22 in the front.

  • At a 100 million a pop, it is not cheaper than JSF. Actually they are in the same price range.

  • yeah its not designed to compete with the JSF just like the F35 isnt designed to compete with the F-22 as an air superiority fighter.

The day the F35 replaces the F22 would be the day this plane replaces the F35.
