I love this video! WAY too many people prefer other guys for Mr. Rochester, but Timothy Dalton is the best. (From my standpoint, anyhow) My only problem with it is... *ahem* Wrong Capt. Wentworth. =D Thanks!
Yes! Dalton did a spectacular job. I enjoyed the newer Jane Eyre up to a point, but a lot of the liberties they took with the acting and the story really upset me.
Aw, yes, I think I'll have to put the "right" Capt. Wentworth in the next one. ;) Oh, and I should start thinking about the unsung heroes friend's. Like Archie Kennedy from Hornblower, and Osborne Hamley and such.
Lovely screencaps, my only quibble is that you missed out the most obvious - Richard Armitage, who played John Thornton in North and South, seems odd considering the music you're using and where it's from ;)
Mm, but I did not leave him out. He's in my first video of gentlemen. Yes, it's a bit odd that I chose the video without him to put to North & South music, but I didn't have it available when I made the first one.
My idea of a true gentlemen is one who not only has proper behaviour, but a good and honest heart who is gentle and with high morals - but who is still strong, strict when need be, and has integrity. BTW, I wondered why you have not included James McAvoy from "Becoming Jane". Granted his character of Tom LeFroy starts out as a libertine, but he is changed by Jane's integrity and by the end of the movie, he is an honorable man.
To tell the truth, I hadn't thought of him. Probably because my mind tends to travel towards characters that have happy endings... not that it makes him less of a gentleman to not win the girl... but I'll have to put his name aside for a possible THIRD video of gentlemen. :)
I was wondering if you have seen the Doctor Zhivago series, starring Hans Matheson and Keira Knightley... It's not a period drama exactly because the story takes place on the 1st Russian Revolution, but the character of Yury Zhivago is such amazing, a wonderful and sensible heart, so sad at the end but very beautiful... Just wanted to add another one =)
Aah! For the Love of Raoul! [who I do know is not present in videoform, but it's still my phrase... ] Is there a possible way for thou to pinch me so I know that I'm alive through the internetwork of computers?
Gentleman? Well we must see what we can do.
