This sonata really gets to you.I first heard Katia Skanavi do it. I thought it was a funeral sonata . That it is ! Plano has added another fine interpretation . These sonatas are written for whom ? Amateurs? They are not physically difficult but the musical side is tough. When he was writing them did he publish them or was he working out composing solutions. Fine music can impress more than Rach etude I hope.
