Megastudio producer: Cubase LE 4 Demystified

I am new to recording as you can tell by my records on my page. I really would like to learn how to record well. If I know nothing about recording, will this dvd help me? I know a little bit. can i purchase this at my local music store? or any store? I live in Ontario Canada. thanks.

I purchased the DVD for my daughter about a year ago, but haven't tried using it until tonight. It won't run. When windows media tried to open it, I get an error message "Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because a compatible DVD decoder is not installed on your computer." I'm 57 years old, and just technical enough to be dangerous. Can you help?

my digitech Rp 350 was supposed to come with Cubase LE 4. I cant install it and now steinberg is saying I need to pay for Cubase 5 for 250 bucks. Can someone help me with this? I want to use the program that was supposed to come free with the RP 350.

Hi, I purchased a Zoom H4n and it came bundled with Cubase LE4, but I haven't a clue on how to use it. I am a complete begginer to software based recording. I have recorded a quite a few demos and ran it through Audacity, but I know Cubase has a lot more going for it. Some on told me that Cubase is hard to learn. Can you help me?

@alcatras4 I'm in the same boat, but having seen others use similar software gives me a TINY edge and I'm struggling through this process. Where do you get this DVD though? I looked on their website and there's nothing about the DVD there. Odd.

i really need help i have Cubase LE 4 and it didnt look anything like the one in this video. its really small and it won't let me do anything. it only picks up my internal computer mic but even when i record that it doesnt give any play back. im trying to use it with my Guitar Rig Session I/O

I think you have to do it in another program... thats exacltey what i want to do, ive heard about Ezdrummer where u can make beats from scratch in Guitar Pro 5 and export as a midi and load in Cubase, but i dont know how or if its even this version of cubase :S im still going to try though...

Oh, really? Uhmm, i have Guitar Pro 5 (legal) and Easy Drummer (downloaded, works fine). So i could make drumbeats in Guitar Pro using Easy Drummer? Wow. That would be great.

yeah you can make the beat in guitar pro and export it as a midi file. From here go into cubase select new project, then make a "instrument track", select Ezdrummer and drag and drop the midi file into it cubase and ezdrummer plays it!!!! sounds like real drums!!! i would recommend downloading the drum kit from hell expansion aswell!! This makes recording soo easy and simple like having a drummer who you just tell what to play... and saves time recording drums :p

So you have to watch a TWO HOUR video to even learn how to turn this thing on. I'm really gonna trust a PC to keep our tracks. You're touching up the final track on the songs u've bin working on 4 6 months. A window saying "u've committed a fatal error" comes up and u lose it all. I think I'll stick with my boss 8 track...

What is the difference between the Steinberg Cubase LE and the Steinberg Cubase LE 4 ???? I am new to all this and I saw so many versions it confused me but these are the first 2 basic versions for your audio interface you buy? I am buying an interface but it has No bundled software with it.

K4GP, you have to plug your keyboard into the soundcard midi input both ways, midi in, midi out if your recording midi. if you are playing waves out the keyboard to record in cubase, hook the output of the keyboard into the input on the soundcard, then you press record but, making sure you choose the right soundcard choice in your cubase device option.

After you record the music on CUBASE LE 4, how do you convert it to play in windows media or in quick time player? Does anyone know?

you have to select your track using the arrows at the top bar (this is done by dragging there arrows). Then file->export->audio mixdown, then under file format choose wave file....send it somewhere else onto ure computer, download a program on the internet that can convert waves to mp3s etc (theres tons of them) and ure set.

I just got the CUBASE LE 4 which came with my LAMBDA Interface. In order to record the music I make on the keyboard, I press the record button, on CUBASE and press play on the keyboard. I press stop and I am not able to play back the music. Seems like nothing is recorded (CUBASE is the only music software that I have in my computer). does anyone see any reason why CUBASE would not record?

Make sure your MIDI and source input connections are correct, try other devices to check if they work. Else contact your Lambda provider.

my guitar runs through a alesis i multimix 8, from the mix 8 through a usb to the computer, but when i monitor there is a huge delay on my guitar. Can i fix this or is it just the signal being slowed down by everything? can anyone please help? post on my channel if you can thanx.

If you are monitoring through Cubase, then there is a bit of 'delay' with any equipment. I have an IO|2 with the same 'delay'. As far as I know, there is no real solution to this. The 'delay' is caused by the time it takes for the signal to come from the instrument, through the mixer, through the USB cable, through the computer, Cubase adding effects, back through the USB cable, and out to the speakers.

There is a latency in the signal when it goes through Cubase to the audio output of your computer. You must monitor what you are recording through the output of the alesis unit.

I am running a Zoom gt.1u guitar effects pedal/ audio interface to my PC with windows xp into cubase le4 via USB. Although I can hear the guitar through my computer speakers, I am unable to record into cubase. The monitor button and record buttons are both highlighted and I am pretty sure the busses are setup correctly. Can anyone think of any remedy to my situation?

I bought the Zoom HD8 and it came with the Cubase LE and I've yet to get it to work. It's not any use to me the way it is now, to get my songs to my computer I have to record it to Audacity and it sounds awful. Help
