Nothing really personal against the man, but why did most of the djs like Adrian John HAVE to come out with the same kind of braindead patter on air like the 'make you a nice cup of tea' stuff ??
Oh yes, those were the good old day. I used to turn on in the breakfast show and stay tuned until 6pm when Mark Goodier came on - 5 days a week plus lunchtimes on Weekends. Brilliant. Anyone remember who the DJ was on Saturday lunchtimes with all the tape cuts/splices he used to do himself and was hilariously funny? Oh nice to see the Old Roadshow too - that was in Eastbourne although sadly I never went when Steve Wright was there. I remember going when Mike Smith was there. Excellent.
@Mancunian6 Mike Smith is a fucking prick who didn't even like Radio 1 ; he kept joining and leaving quickly, even after being given the Breakfast Show. Whenever his pal Noel Edmonds gave him more tv work he was off. JUST cared about money and tv etc. The guy was moronic to listen to anyway ; remember him on the Breakfast Show saying 'TODAY' about 6 times in 3 sentences which was typical of him, emphasizing the word slowly as if listeners were either deaf or two years old, like on 'Playschool'
@TheKenfig I meant the Roadshow was brilliant. I wasn't necessarily talking about Mike Smith! I agree with what you say regarding tv and Noel Edmonds etc.
