Hi, I have only just started spinning, so got some questions: do you ply this afterwards? or if left a single yarn, I've seen a process called fulling, which seemed to be a slight felting of the single yarn, is this always necessary or can the single be used just as is for knitting etc? Thank you =D
I've heard a lot about this corespinning and art yarns and never thought it would interest me...but a spinner should not say "never"! Your video has me re-thinking the whole idea of art yarns. What kind of wheel are you spinning on in this video?
I attended a workshop at a fiber frolic today. Your vid made it all click! Thanks! Do you ever add "stuff" to your yarn? Beads, or felted things? Post another vid if so?
hey velma, great video, exactly what I needed to see :) I can;t wait to have another go at the wheel tonight and see if I can find my corespinning mojo
Thanks Velma for the video! I'm always inspired by seeing spinning in action...particiularly your little tidbits, like using a boucle, something with a bit of"grit", makes sense, more-so than a slick surface thread. Gotta go, off to spin,
Thank you! How inspiring!! I am a newbie, and I never thought I would want to spin. Art Yarns are definitely for me! I hope to create all kinds of neat stuff to use up my stash of goodies!! : ) I just need to learn how to attach all that funky stuff to the yarns while spinning! (and learn to spin of course!) Woo hoo... : D

What do you use for your core?

@chocolatefountainpro
I always use something strong, because I don't want it to break. Spinners choice!

great video-I love the bulky yar. I am shopping for a spinning wheel-do you know a good place to try different spinning wheels?

Love your video. i am trying to learn this technique. Are you spinning Z or S, or does it matter?
mdbezz 2 years ago
in my opinion, it doesn't matter i you spin z or s; if you ply, just be sure to spin in opposite direction.
glad you found the vid useful!

Thanks, and any luck w/ your mojo?

no, now I am searching for my mojo AND for some time to find it :) 4 kids + busy mama = not much time for spinning. But I will get there!

Yep, something with a little 'tooth' to it will go a long way to helping you hold in your inclusions. Have fun & thx for the comment!

Great video!!! I've been looking for something like this (I do have Jacey's DVD on order as well)
Keep up the great work
(suggestion: how to add "stuff" to your yarn--bells, flowers, beads, etc etc)

Thanks for the feedback, iknit; I love the geese 'soundtrack' too, and I'm glad to hear it's not too distracting.
Definitely try spinning, it's a blast!
