I believe there is a certain point in which you don't have to show emotion to let it out. especially playing a ballad. I dunno, that is just my point of view on things...

@tbonechs2010 you're right. what a lot of people do not understand is that music STARTS as an idea. secondly, we are able to sing it, and thirdly we are able to play it. that is the natural order of things, it's as simple as that. it's impossible to see the emotion on an idea within someone's head, and the people that "need" to see the emotion aren't looking for music they are looking for entertainment. this is why the whole music industry as a whole BAFFLES me. so much false ideals of music.

Then again, nothng compares to the juice and energy of thse wild Van Halen videos from 82/83 avail at Dme or Trader's Den.....but that is a different story :) But seriously, the art of jazz guitar goes beyond just about anything. Requires such an ear and understanding of the music.
