  • all we need is dave's voice and guitar. period.. he sings from a whole different place this guy..he's music defineately comes from someplace elsewhere..really nice stuff!!

  • Wow. That's soulful.

  • Ele é o Cara!

Pra mim não existe um violonista base igual!

  • SEXY!!!!

  • @HanaEurope That's an understatement.

  • hes completly toasted

  • yeah, all his songs are darn good, but have you ever heard a song by him that was not on the radio when you heard it. But I also disagree with him beliefs.

  • Can't wait for this years farmaid with Dave and Tim!

  • your top three favorite DMB songs are extremely popular songs by them that almost everyone knows be a little different and listen to some of his other stuff its so much better anyway. and btw no one asked you on your political views and how they differed from Dave's.

  • ROYKAA1: there's nothing wrong with liking a bands most "common" or "popular" songs. They are common/popular for a good reason. Some people choose to make themselves prefer other songs just to be considered "different."

  • @kardzfn21

    ur an ass

  • Love, love, love Dave !!

  • he is so hot at this farm aid. love him.

  • Wow, even though this song is inspired by the "tragic" death of a disgusting communist, I still love Dave's songs and couldn't care less about his political opinions.

  • Who was it written for if you don't mind me asking. lol

  • Chris Hani.

  • @Somuchtoplay You apperently are missing the point of the song totally, though you say you love it.

  • @Shitfuckerino

I wouldn't be so sure... You know the "Honey, honey..." part in the beginning?

It was originally "Hani, Hani" from Chris Hani, I think he was the leader of the communist party in South Africa if I'm not mistaking, and a friend of Daves. But he changed it later because it didn't fit the mood of the song. Yeah, I don't know if the whole song is inspired by that, but at least that part I just told you about.

  • Does anyone know if Dave is using a pic in this version? And for that matter, does he use a pic in any of his songs?

  • Yes, Dave uses a pick in this version. At 0:23 - 0:26 seconds he takes the pick from his guitar neck using his left hand and places it in his right strumming hand.

  • uses a pick on pretty much all songs unless its obvious otherwise, ie, strums with his thumb on 'oh'

  • He uses a pick on every song. He throws them in the crowd after the songs. I actually caught one last year when I was front row at Deer Creek

  • All of the worlds leaders should be forced to listen to this song everyday, and maybe we could learn to get along!

  • omfg i wish this version was officially released on cd

  • Honey Honey! Come and dance with me

  • FUCKIN RITE

  • its not honey honey...

its Hani Hani..look it up (Chris Hani, he was a south african leader that was assasinated.)

  • haha thanks, what kind of fan am I?

  • no problem...

    Just here to correct

  • actually, know it all. it IS honey honey.

    Song History

#36 started out as a jammy song in 1993. It was inspired as a result of the tragic assassination of a South African freedom fighter, Chris Hani, and was played for the first time three days after his death in 1993..... Dave noted on 10.9.94 that he changed the lyrics from "Hani, Hani" to "honey, honey," to fit more with the song's mood.

  • Dave - He's 1 of a kind! Nobody else like him or DMB? This is 1 of my most favorite DMB songs!
