First of all, all performers are bound to have one or two bad performances in their career. It happens. We're human, not robots, and we make mistakes. Second of all, it sounds as if they put the song in a different key to accompany the best of both singers' strengths, unfortunately Taylor's nerves mostly likely got to her and she ended up singing off pitch.

At any rate, the point is, you shouldn't judge a person by one or two events, but how they handle those events with grace and maturity.

Taylor does have a limited vocal range. Her songs don't stray to far from a certain key, so they can suit her. There is nothing wrong with, because within those boundaries, Taylor gives great performances of really creative and original lyrics. However, she (or whoever thought up this duet) did not take care to cater to her range. Really, many singers will struggle if a song is played in a key they are no used to.
